after ellen alliens album >dust< kicked up a lot of the same in 2010, it was only a matter of time until the right remixers for the album were found. no less than the creme de la creme of today s house scene was allowed to have their way with these tracks. and the results are more than fitting. although we have already burned a full-length cd containing all of the remixes they created, we are not planning on leaving the vinyl-loving faction (or whats left of them) out in the cold either. this 12 inch features three powerful club tracks from three outstanding remixers. each unrivalled in their own space.

jyc-001 is the first release from junk yard connections. a small indie-label formed by a twenty years old guy from stockholm. highvalley is a floating track with elements and inspiration from jungle like motown, but still with a steady housegroove. feel is a track with a lot of melancholy mixed with a great swing. perfect for the afterhour! jyc-001 will just be released in wax and strictly limited to 250 numbred copies.

the rio label has a lot planned for the coming months, with two separate compilation cds - special edits volume 1 & 2. but, first up is the rio007 12 inch to kick start the proceedings. rio007 is a cool samba funk record that oozes rios trademark sound.

supported by luciano, timo maas, pig & dan, anthony collins, woody, dustin zahn. rifraf is rafael gimelstein, recently relocated from sydney to berlin, born in lithuania, raised in israel, flowered in sydney. classically trained violinist, deep as fu*k party organiser and creator of sydneys earthdance festival, rifraf is now full time producer making his distinctive sound in electronic music world. philosophy started as a casual recording of his granny klara telling stories about her time in a concentration camp in germany, and singing the yiddish song tumbalalaika and ended as a very intelligent moving sound collage. the whole peace is a trip, which feeds you constantly with changing noises and visions. although philosophy is transferring a lot of aural information, it is never telling to much and still works perfectly on the dance floor. its just an intoxicating musical tale which drives you on a wild journey. with the both remixes, one of alexkid with his deep as fu*k remix and phillip baders off runner the release get its pretentious dance floor alternatives. fifteen seconds close this fine ep, which rafael did in coop with the young israeli producer omer from tel aviv.

titbit music release 14 is produced by our enfant prodige from montpellier, now based in berlin, valentin foy aka slz. on side a, strugglin, feels like old ghetto track with a crazy acid long break to make you mad, on the other side, back stube, is a dark house track with a dreamy atmosphere and a lot of groove, a class ep.

it is no secret that bloop has gained a cult following in the few years that it has as a label. release after release, the portuguese imprint has put quality over quantity. and by doing so, it has earned the respect of the djs. one of the releases that made it gain that status has to be anonyms >fazer-me a cabeça ep<. its two tracks from an anonymous producer from detroit, that had just released an acclaimed ep on sushitech, was so well received that it helped in raising the profile of both anonym and bloop. so it is a great pleasure to have anonym back on bloop with >a is for acid, b is for bass<. two raw jabs of techno and rave, two strong statements of how detroit techno has still a lot to say

desolat is happy to announce a new 12inch by giuseppe cennamo. born in naples, italy in 1980, giuseppe took to the turntables at age 13. following the legacy of fellow napolitanos like marco carola, danilo vigorito and davide squillace, he took the inspiration of classic house and melodic synths to build his own brand of tech. his tracks on several labels got a lot of peak time play and caught the ears of loco dice. fortuitously, after a break to clear his head, mr cennamo decided to take the inspiration of a loco dice dj set to create something specifically tailored for desolat, which resulted in this release.this particular slice of vinyl is aimed squarely at the djs - with the title track amanecer digging deep into the pads, a cantering kick and gentle swing that hints at detroit forefathers. cuando tu quieres stomps its heels and morphs into a very whimsical bouncing house burner: plenty of fun to be had with this one. dejame asi feels like a spaghetti western re-imagined with the help of a conical moving laser beam, a childrens choir and a bag full of kazoos while the rest of nothing is a reduced, pinocchio-like percussion-driven track with an insistent bassline

after several hot tunes on worthy’s anabatic imprint, birminghams tom flynn joins the ranks of the dirtybird crew. i ve battle tested the a-side of this record all around the world. >catch that bird< is a rare mix of deep rooted funk whilst also sounding like a caribbean jungle track pitched down to 126. my favorite!
i d play this ep just on the strength of the a-side but i feel like a lot of attention will also be given to the b-side called >rhode island<. this is a classic piece of deep house with all the melodic elements of a dirtybird jam.
tom sent me at least 7 tracks before i signed these so the guy is certainly prolific and i expect to hear quite a bit more from this up and comer this year.

it’s with a lot of excitement that archipel’s boss himself releases a vinyl extract of his album’s favorite tracks. while the album which consist of 2 cds, we thought some of the works would fit well in the hands of collectors who would push the tunes in their quirky sets. the opening track, titled “big trouble in little cave” is one that could haunt a techno party in berlin where in the breakdown, things just go out of control and while you think you can’t take anymore, the music takes you back to earth. tests have proven to be used with care, reports indicate some people reacted with a lot of noise. “dérape totale” is perhaps a cross of four tet releasing on raster noton. awkward combo indeed but the strange structure on top of weirdly arranged percussion is set to catch your attention and draw you into an inner journey. with the chance of having manchester’s dncn join him for vocals, pheek goes with his first interpretation of what a pheekie-pop tune could be: fun, intriguing and catchy! >follow the flow< is the closing track and is one build tension with surprising exploding percussion clashes on top of melodic waves.

the new kill a beat is coming straight from berlin! it s a split ep by the friends alex sander and lars wickinger. alex sander is well known by his label killabeat and last release on session deluxe with rekardo rivalo. he was living some years in sao paulo. there he worked as booking agent for intergroove. this time gave him a lot of influences for his music. his style is a hot mix of minimal electro and techhouse. now alex presents 1 track (nuit) for kill a beat. nuit is a very warm and soulful funky tech-house tune. you can really feel the spirit of south america in this track. nuit is rollin very percussive and groovy with some vocal snippets and typical south american folk elements. the second one is made by lars wickinger. after his releases on tanzbar and kachelfunk, he finally is back with funky buthole on kill a beat ! on the b-side is an amazing remix by andy kohlmann (lordag / extrasmart). his style is a little bit deeper and more minimalistic. this track is perfect for the current techhouse sound all around the world. the whole ep is definitely hot, and will bring the summer back to your hearts, during the cold fall months.

oliver schleenvoigt is one of the two parts of the monoroom duo, who should be well known by everybody. with his first solo ep on ostwind records, oliver shows what he is capable of and makes a wonderful debut with his kunstflug ep. a-side tracks >gerissene rolle< and >zwirbelturm< are 2 driving tech house bombs with a lot of feelings, small delicacies and the right nip in terms of groove. on the b-side, we will find david labeij and neurotronturning the tables, performing magic with 2 damn phat remixes. both of them, with their very own style, make for the track >zwirbelturm< be a fabulous joy and for the ep to become an even more smooth thing. dutch fluffy tech meets mecklenburg neutron techno. a big thank you to the remixers and of course to oli for this successful debut.

the song barbra streisand of the new yorkers house duo duck sauce is a dedication to the famous actress. duck sauce is a collaboration between a-track and armand van helden and in the official video you will find a lot of well-known bigwigs. with a great boney m. sample and catchy sounds barbra streisand is a track, which is much coolerthan you suggest from the name!!

go hiyama has always been a very interesting artist for me, ever since he emerged in 2002 on james ruskins coda label. both his musical & production style have changed a lot since then and i personally feel theres still no one out there who comes near to what he is doing. we planned on working together since a long time now and i am glad we finally made it work with this brilliant 4 tracker. no fillers. all 4 tracks have been tested thoroughly in my sets and always stood out as highlights.

the phrase >tropical< is currently getting used to describe a lot of different music, some good, some bad, some ugly. to save on confusion senseless went out and travelled the world to find some music from the actual tropics, venezuela to be precise. somewhere buried deep in the mysterious rainforest, or possibly just in a studio in caracas, they found pocz and pacheko. it?s so near the equator maybe we can ditch the ?tropical bass? tag and go for something new, >equatorial bass< perhaps? maybe not. pacheko, francisco mejia, will be familiar to some for his solo releases on lo dubs, murder channel, seclusiasis and for his work with legendary venezualan expat cardopusher. his partner in bass pocz (carlos majoral) is a classically trained musician and production engineer. along with a select few others they run abstractor, a collective of producers, artists and designers, who promote parties, run a blog and do a fine job of representing bass music in venezuela pretty much solo. the collective includes graphic artist design or die who is responsible for the incredible artwork and pretty special video for >zarbak<.

remixes by vince watson alexander kowalski / d_func... strike nr. 3 on the alexander kowalski label features remixes of track >loco< written by the berlin bar25 resident dirty doering. vince watson reworked the track to a massive detroitish anthem that brings the melodies of the original to a new level. kowalski himself created a tech-house stomper thats live-set approved and damaged a lot of floors all over europe. the d_func. stripped to the bones-mix takes the track in parts and rearranges it to a raw & dirty techno-mix. all together this a perfect release to be played at all the big festivals and open-air events this summer

levante is the name of a warm wind, blowing between northern africa and spain during the summer months, a warm wind that especially surfers, but also other kinds of deeply relaxed summer people appreciate a lot. as some surfers and other people require some of this feeling already before next summer, schallbox records associated with monoroom has caught some of this wind and transformed it into levante una, which is basses, waves and beats that will blow some tube-heated pre-summer frenzy through the speakers and on the dancefloors. for an even longer surfing experience and a continued boomy feeling in your knackers (hmm sorry ladies?), martin eyerer, mike wall and steve cole have got their speedoes out and dived into 45°(celsius) warm drums and samples, in order to offer to you their personal renderings of levante una. wasn t there a track once, warm surferette??
