we have released various fine eps of minilogue on traum in the past: *certain things*, *the leopard*, *seconds*, *space* and the most recent one: *let life dance through you*. this time we have sebastian mullaerts spiritual work of *direct experience* pressed on vinyl! two very different versions of a techno soul. you can virtually feel him putting hands on knobs and twisting and bending the theme in his delicate and hypnotic way. who ever has seen minilogue play live this feeling is captured here by sebastian in an authentic breathtaking way.

the hamburg based hannes rasmus released a record in 2013 called *analog ist besser* on gold pandas precious label notown which also featured luke abbott from border community. this put him on the map for minimal electronic melodic music with a lot of tastemakers and friends of melodic techno. his ep on traum *musik für fünf maschinen* refers to the equipment he used to write the music… the title of the tracks however refer to swimming pools.

following the success of dominik eulberg and gabriel anandas the space between us, in november 2013 on traum the duo has been in the studio to chuck out another piece of music which has again so little in common with post minimal dance music of now.

we were surprised when dominik knocked on our door with two tracks from gabriel ananda and himself. we had released *harzer roller*, *kirschplunder & jasmin tee bei gabriel* and *eucalypse now!* ages ago and these releases for us always had a special quality, a kind of energy exchange which took place between them, so we were excited to hear their newest recordings. once heard we instantly knew: these tracks are crowd-pleasers in a big way and come now for the first time on vinyl!

after ryan davis album particles of bliss in june 2012 on traum it was clear to everyone that he was one oft he most versatile artists on the label. there was no electronic playground he did not enter. his phanstastic and illusionary music makes him such a special artist for traum.

extrawelt are back with a brand new 3-track ep for traum schallplatten where they have released classics like *8000*, *doch doch* or their legendary remix for minilogues leopard.

the ambassador of the bat, yes it is true, and the ambassador of german melodic techno music dominik eulberg is releasing, 8 months after *ein stuckchen urstoff*, a new ep on traum. fans of his music can anticipate another masterpiece of melodic music, which is based on him fiddling with sounds, acoustics… keeping up of what we refer to as the eulbergsche language. this time it seems to be even more exhilarated and driven by passion. does this make sense when you speak about someone who is considered to have great compositional skill? yes we think the liveliness shows up in greater chunks, and the crispiness of the ideas rise to a point which is exceptional and... for those who seek techno realism… it can be found here as well.

max cooper is now on his 12th release with traum and if that was a magic number, he has teamed up with nicolas bougaïeff who is the creative director of liine in berlin.

due to the wish of the fans we release here a second limited vinyl with microtrauma, collecting some of their finest tracks never released before on vinyl. the 4 track ep starts with >reflection<, a mighty tune. the track is built musically on a sophisticated layering of intricate sounds that are counteracted by slashing snares and stiletto sharp sequences which allows a fine blend of techno with melodic structures. it is for sure by its nature a true voyage, a trip to higher meadows ... or maybe even follows a mission.

ryan davis has been recording music since 2006. he has produced for manual music, bedrock, proton, areal, archipel, backhome, wunderbar and many other labels. recently he has released two eps with traum. one can say without doubt, ryan is a real artist and a tastemaker. ryan has released on many labels worldwide, not always on big labels… though that never was of prior importance to him, but it was his quality that has earned him an international audience and standing.
the album consists out of 11 never released tracks that highlight his talent to keep away from preset formulas and turn toward musical compositions.

we release here on vinyl the top tunes from microtrauma for all the fans who were bugging us and were disappointed that they could not get the tracks on record. so now here find a good selection of the strongest tunes by microtrauma based on the feedback of the fans and the feedback in the clubs. the tracks come from the first three releases now for the first time on vinyl. for what is missing we apologize but promise to have the next microtrauma release on vinyl!

it has been half a year since we released the last max cooper ep on traum, so his new finished ep comes in handy for all of his fans and people interested in the grey zone of techno vs. electronica. max coopers new release the >egomodal ep< comes as a 4 tracks ep and adds up to a great piece of music. once again it focuses on dynamics and tangents, along with the concept of complexity and simplicity. the >egomodal ep< stays true to max coopers approach to link a mathematical structure with a simple one. we are happy to say he has succeeded to fuse complexity with variations by still finding time to focus on details and keeping up that nice randomness which makes his music so appealing also for clubbers and djs.
this release is extremely diverse in styles and offers in its vinyl version everything from the dark detroit electro styled techno piece >epitaphy< that evokes old detroit days… to the melodically trembling >autumn haze< that is a huge track because its flow is superbly programmed ... to rippertons mighty house hymn of a remix, ending in the basseline monster >raw< which looses its teeth towards the end.

it is one of our traditions to release remixes of our favourite artists and so we are happy to feature top remix artists for this minilogue remix release on traum.
the >drop the mask of self protection< remix of dominik eulberg is a bit of an adventure! unlike his >diorama< album and maybe because of its elaborate musical challenge, he has taken a time-out to create a serious club format in the true eulberg style witnessed on trapez in the past. so what does that really mean for this track? well this remix kicks off a bit of an relaxed percussive and deep house groove and undergoes in its course quite an explosive transformation! with a lot of skill and finesse mr eulberg pulls the strings with accuracy and makes the transfer of what unfolds to be a heavy big pounding techno rocker! thumbs up this is superb and eulberg at his best.

>let life dance thru you< reveals itself as a safari of live played percussion, instruments and sounds. the duo create here a biotope of sounds that interact with each other... like a live band would do… at times almost arabesque sounding this track is full of mysterious soundscapes... jazzy played instruments... flutes running havoc... it could as well be: a spiritual voodoo session from the 70ies!
the whole sound selection if it would be described in colors, would be dark brown, black... with bits of gold. no shiny lights or illuminated plains. almost 11.00 minutes long this track is a real journey and certainly for the people who know rather than feeding djs.

the second part of the >diorama< remixes offers again some of the finest producers around.
starting with kollektiv turmstrasse! what kicks off as a chez damier groove makes the transition into a loose dub monster. collecting traces of the original sound and dispersing them with magic movements we see why kollektiv turmstrasse are a top act. shifting the attention from the front to the far back from the obvious to the abstract... turmstrasse create that parallel groove on top of the groove which seems to tighten up with every minute. fine particles of sounds are sprayed onto the relentless groove and make it a real crowd pleaser.

while dominik eulberg utilized the broader canvas of the album format to develop complex sophisticated compositions, rich of melodies and of intricate details, it was time to boil it down to a bit of a club formula. stephan bodzin, a favourite producer of eulberg, has chosen the clubbiest track of the album >teddy tausendtod< and transformed it into a after hour monster. installing a feeling of electricity with sounds of the original that hover on a layer of huge bass and powerful arrhythmic kicks... it has resulted into a hypnotic anthem.

max coopers returns to traum with his brand new >empirisch< ep. he opens his ep with >echoes reality< and we realise right away this might be another cornerstone of max coopers musical carrier. inspiring and beautifully crafted as it moves from wonderful lush sounds to a sequences of screeching tones and back to heavenly sounds, >echoes reality< shows all signs of an etamorphosis deluxe realised on the highest possible level of production. from roaring basslines to cadillac squeaking tires to ambrosial vocals ... this is max cooper at his best and a true tour de force.

following ryan davis debut >routes of life< on traum in january 2011, his high acclaimed follow up shows ryan is a real tastemaker but also a real club rocking musician. few artists in the electronic modern dance scene of today make music that seems serious and intense... and still accomplishes to have club people go wild on it. it is a bit of a lost treasure of the golden techno days, ryan always reflects in his music when he creates moments of beauty with an collective fee to them. ryan davis in one of them and his new ep shows that side even more than his debut. a-side track supernova brings images together of psychedelic west coast soundtracks of the 70ies, pop art, shoe gazers and maybe salvatore dalis surrealism.

we are sure max cooper does not refer here to one of traum boss triple rs favourite writer thomas pynchon but rather connects here to the technical terminus of the parabolic trajectory often mentioned as rainbow-shaped. nevertheless we wish to express that the transgressive quality of max music, does it question or break down the boundaries and categories of western culture and reason, is a challenge we have at traum always aimed at, with tracks that were very far away from the norm in the same way as maxs tracks are.

max cooper has over the last 2 years become one of the figureheads of modern composed electronic music on traum and is gaining popularity rapidly amongst those who like beautifully crafted and composed electronic music.opening with >ripple< this epic builder, heavy with bass, tripped out fx, haunting abstract vocals, spiced with teasing climaxes,this is surely another top cooper track in the making.

born in the precious year of punk rock 1977, the toronto based artist has always clung with his heart to the likes of the stooges, t. rex, spacemen 3 and so for us it is no surprise that jake makes a tight connection here also with his alias fairmont. fairmont is considered the semi-famous soft side project of producer jake fairley which has become more and more famous over the years. again jake shows a great insight of electronic music and makes this ep a gripping journey.

freska belongs to the new generation of artist not bound to follow one genre. his releases therefore differ enormously. he states in his biography that he was influenced by music from black sabbath to kraftwerk, but this just implies the range of music and is not really to be grasped.

somehow effortless minilogues tracks hover and make contact ... a special aura has been there from the beginning ... with these remixes we felt there was a lot of musical ground to be conquered. so we asked dominik eulberg, max cooper and the new artist freska to interpret&#8232,,,,, this true traum classic.

the sound of the new wave band bauhaus seems to make its way into several releases nowadays. &#8232,,we are not talking about samples but the dark romantic feeling of this period.&#8232,,moonbeams track >distance< carries this haunted and ghostly feeling of the 80ies, the chill of cold steel and rooms with little light from candles.&#8232,,sure it would not be a moonbeam track if there were not the spine-tingling melodies which have always been the strength of their music!

>chaotisch serie< kicks off with a human sound that could only be composed deep in your throat, a sound that can hardly be described in words... rough and smooth at the same time... screaming for help it seems. then suddenly metallic sounds delay and tumble in... turning into an army of steel beetles swarming the place. plunging into a sweet melody that contorts being followed by trippy delays reminding us of the opening sequence of >the hunger< with catherine deneuve and david bowie at a bauhaus concert, we know this track will be huge.

the title of max coopers stochastisch serie ep, refers to his use of stochastic methods, also known as non-deterministic, or random methods of sound generation. stochastic elements referring here mainly to real sounds including vocal experiments and sampled sounds which create a complexity and richness which has been a trademark of many well known traum releases in the past. the london based artist max cooper sees his new 12 inch as a construction of different moods going beyond club music, as witnessed in the past through tracks such as i and end of reason. it is no surprise that dischordance is another one of these timeless pearls alongside these mentioned tracks that have created a fan base worldwide for him. the friction max generates is created by two sides colliding, the synthesised drums and melodies and the random experiments with voice. his dance floor rockers stochastisch serie and mnemonic work in a much more functional way but do include bits of this randomness and therefore are part of the superstructure stochastisch serie. the remix of uk producer leeks is very hip in style and sound and will please a lot of younger djs who love the cool swing and groovyness with music and will find the functionlism here going very strong.

nach fast einjähriger pause zu ihrer debüt platte auf traum bringt das russische duo moonbeam nun 3 neue trax auf traum heraus. viel hat sich getan in der soundästhetik die nun wärmer und weicher ist als ihr vorgänger. trotzdem haben die brüder es geschafft ihre musikalität beizubehalten. voller farben und formen sind die stücke in ihrer beschaffendheit. eine ganz farbpalette wird hier geopfert wie bei >yellow submarine< von den beatles und wirkt wie eine steilvorlage für eine visuelle umsetzung. auf der a-seite finden wir mit >slow heart< ein träumerisches aber clubbiges stück, dass sich wie in einem flüssigen oder gasförmigen zustand befindet und ständig sein Äußeres verändert, aber konkrete sprünge in der >dynamik nach vorn< umsetzt und somit über die ganze länge des stücks eine spannung aufrechterhält. >something alive< ist das reduzierteste stück bisher von moonbeam, das mit einer interessanten stop und go rhythmik arbeitet. es explodiert förmlich nach dem break, um dann wieder in einen rhythmischen track überzugehen. >springstory< auf b2 ist das heimliche a2 stück, welches unglaublich massiv daherkommt und temporeich im stil der a-seite der ersten 12inch auf traum agiert. hier passiert alles im zeitraffer tempo und mit unglaublicher energie.

das mbf erfolgsduo empfiehlt sich mit zwei deepen stücken für das traum label. minimal, aufgeräumt aber dennoch mit einer subtilen euphorie versehen. träumerle techno...

hier wird beim jasmintee lecker kirschplunder gegessen. gabriel und dominik finden die perfekte harmonie des geschmackes. das nenne ich eine super platte ohne kompromisse. wenn hier nichts geht, dann wissen wir auch nicht mehr weiter. also hoch die tassen!

diese platte strotzt vor freude und lebendigkeit, zeigt viel instinkt für emotionen und deutet darauf hin, dass super flu ihre hausaufgaben gemacht haben. in zukunft wird es von den beiden noch einiges mehr auf traum geben
