PULL FICTION (M.IN, STEVE COLE & RONALD CHRISTOPH MIXES)
12" Vinyl D20.05.15
eddy romero & frink were digging in the rock formations beneath earth s crust and have quarried a track which was forged into the newest schallbox-vinyl straight by the pressure of the continental plates! schallbox018 is an expedition through a scarcely lit tunnel, down into a mysterious and cryptic underworld. the tracks pull fiction and element unfold a maelstrom that takes us ever deeper down into a dark abyss. pull fiction in m.ins remix version is a percussive club monster that gives over to sparsely flickering lights revealing the way onwards, while the mystical voices in steve cole & ronald christophs remix of element take us back into the daylight again.

the cover *theme* shimmers orange-brown and is one more reason to welcome the coming autumn. basels superkid benotmane wows us with a deep melodic track whose vocals have us quickly lost in a dream. whether we are floating, eyes-closed, across the dance-floor at an open-air or in a club, something becomes undeniable, serious goosebumps are happening. the two guys from kaiser souzai have presented us with two remixes that ultimately convince through their technoid and pulsing grooves. eskimo is the whittled-down original, reduced to its main components –revealing these with its very own flow.
the cover of laguna verde ep shimmers in a turquoise and dark greenish tone, letting us reminisce about our sweet memories of one of the best and hottest summers ever: smalltown collective delivers their second schallbox single, a deep and melancholic techhouse track, that seems almost timeless in its original near-9-minute version. then there are the prestigious remixes, lining up seamlessly on this release: a groove-teeming version coming courtesy of the chosen two and even two different fulminant versions by cocoon darling sven tasnadi! so, as you can see, theres strictly nothing getting in the way of a musical visit to bolivias laguna verde!
the best is yet to come is the title of the newest release by schallbox records and also stands for the claim of the basel based recording label to continually evolve and develop itself further, thereby upping the ante with each new release.
schallbox014 is a deep and ever grooving track made by berlins michael nielebock and leevey that will definitely see the openair season prolonged until the end of the year. additionally, larsson delivers a dubby remix featuring an electrifying beat and broad synth sounds. schallbox even resurrects some golden memories of legendary bar25 - courtesy of sasch cawa and dirty doerings remix which is furthermore gratifying the vinyl package. last but not least the release is completed by the contribution of newcomer benotmane from basel, who converts the original into a dreamy sunrise tune.
three schallbox eps for one special price! includes releases by steve cole (sbr010), andrey bogdanov (sbr009) and doppelt gemoppelt (sbr008) and remixes by andreas henneberg, pierre deutschmann, nils ohrmann, dekay, j alexander and monoroom & atapy.
in the original version >arabica< has proper funk on the bass ribs, rocks carelessly all over through the space and the arabesque-style vocal scrap blows so incredibly hypnotising by the track that you feel has to make a smooth ride on the back of a meandering sand storm.
pierre deutschmann knows in his remix only one direction: floorward! the sound aesthetics of the track has deeply internalised the force from the best oldschool days and drives the dancehall visitor, broadly grinning, before itself. powerful, direct and without ornamental accessories, beaten out of sound granite for the peak time of the night.
schallbox sends his latest release into the race and for that the gentlemen of doppelt gemoppelt admit responsibility. in the original, it rattles and hisses only the way in the rhythm entablature, a blessed onefinger- chord acts as kerosene in the sound-tank and the resilient little background melodies create together with the interspersed vocal fragments, a deep and tragic scene which brings every in themself sunken dancefloor in vibrations.
levante is the name of a warm wind, blowing between northern africa and spain during the summer months, a warm wind that especially surfers, but also other kinds of deeply relaxed summer people appreciate a lot. as some surfers and other people require some of this feeling already before next summer, schallbox records associated with monoroom has caught some of this wind and transformed it into levante una, which is basses, waves and beats that will blow some tube-heated pre-summer frenzy through the speakers and on the dancefloors. for an even longer surfing experience and a continued boomy feeling in your knackers (hmm sorry ladies?), martin eyerer, mike wall and steve cole have got their speedoes out and dived into 45°(celsius) warm drums and samples, in order to offer to you their personal renderings of levante una. wasn t there a track once, warm surferette??
supported by laurent garnier, troy pierce, richie hawtin, gregor tresher, joris voorn, luke slater, luciano, rhadoo, florian meindl, martin eyerer, someone else, tom novy, monoroom and many more... incl rmxs by pascal feos, steve cole and ronald christoph
a new gleaming star in the sky, intending to point the way in the promised land, abates the first misty-eyed, playful publication. nonetheless jackin, house-bounce red threads twist thru all tracks, which could not be more divergent. excellent, then each one is a grandiose dj-tool destined to keep the hearing nerves back in time. diversify guaranteed and impossible to keep still. label owners are the always-on-top swiss dj and producer steve cole and the berlin born robert stolt, charactering a part of the dj- and producing team with the pathbreaking name tagträumer2. it was his original contribution, impudent, vibrating propelling was unmistakable jimi hendrixs muse. like his mentor, he cleverly combined rock n roll with reveries, today an explosive mixture. the remix of tigerskin aka dub taylor is a psychedelic sound, that remind us of the best years of bordercommunity, like a nice lsd-trip known in to those days. the cream on the cakeis steve coles remix, maximal in defiance of minimal. he compiles the language of the woodstock heroes into the >sound of berlin< and wrapped it into a story, which can be patiently eavesdropped.
the title track for schallbox015 is delivered by none other than label boss steve cole himself. with a driving groove, playfully set chords and vocals by her majestys sound (aka alexander friedrich), the original version asks every dancer for the *last dance*. or then, is this just the beginning the cast of remixers, consisting of rené bourgeois & dan caster, as well as the glitz, lines up in perfect sequence and will again set every dance floor on fire!
as re-mixers, they have already made two fine contributions to schallbox-releases, now they finally get their own track on the swiss label. 12 most definetly belongs to the smalltown collective!
the name of the track is tiefblau and it speaks for itself: you are transported by a pushing, bass-generated pressure capsule down along a hypnotic groove line and into a deep blue ocean. the smalltown collective really exploit the merits of the acoustic stage here, pulling together a compelling and diverse set of notes and tones carefully arranged to amount to a track you just cant shake.
in his interpretation, dj le roi stays true and to the deepest blue dive atmosphere of tiefblau, yet manages to make it completely his own. unmistakably tieflblau, unmistakably le roi.
the page logo belongs to berlin-based producer david keno, whos signature lies in lacing floor-oriented beats with a distinct melodic aspect. with his unique and secret recipe, keno tweaks/ treats this track as he does with so many stomping house tracks with a laid-back vibe. guaranteed to work on any dance floor in the world!
schallbox inaugurates the open-air season and by doing so unmistakably calls out for a dance! the high spirits of the party held for its tenth release is still in everbobys mind - and the blaze is still burning! yet team schallbox around steve cole follows up by presenting space night astronaut, saafi brother and sound design artist gabriel le mar with the spherically driving and playfully dreamy track >deep red guitar<.
>13.0< is the reduced title of the original track, which reflects as well the puristic approach of the sound. oldschool manner meets analog waves on swinging grooves, that cleares the way across the galaxy. gabriel le mar pitches down the velocity and touches down on the magical fairys planet! his silver bullet is the game of dice and conjures the fairies with an ocean of moments in happiness, what ends up in joyful dancing. playing games has ever been his passion! the trip goes on in low level flight mode. the smalltown collective offers clearer strings with a dose of deepness. on his remix of >29.0<, steve coles shoots the fire with wide-opened claps and crunching the gear, while spreading the music by the machine into the width of the universe.
