for nearly two decades, ploink has promoted techno nights around norway, presenting local talent as well as some of the biggest acts from around the world. we just really like techno. our definition of the genre is fairly wide though, constantly evolving, which we have attempted to reflect in this our first release, compiling four very different tracks by local producers from our hometown of bergen. setting up a label branch has for years been a burried, old plan. to us, techno parties, no matter how unique and brilliantly planned, have such a short lifespan, and as such it feels good to finally start releasing something that can get a life of its own, perhaps grow into something entirely different.

here comes the sun (1971) is an album by jazz singer-pianist nina simone, consisting of cover versions of songs by pop and rock musicians. it features songs recorded in the rca studios with a full orchestra and backing vocals. although simone covers songs by bob dylan and the beatles, among others, most of the versions feature arrangements substantially different from the original recordings. this is most clearly in the final song *my way*, which with its fast pacing rhythm deviates significantly from the usual interpretations. pressing on audiophile 180 gram vinyl.

has jesse rose reached legendary status yet? hes certainly made a good attempt at it. the course of his career has seen him collaborating with internationally-acclaimed artists like henrik schwarz or switch, producing talents such as hot chip and chiddy bang, and having three labels that have created careers for artists such as oliver $, riva starr & homework to name but three.
