after his dial - debut in 2010 roman flügel comes up with a second issue of essential works for a colourful twinkling dancefloor. also known as eight miles high, soylent green and _ alter ego roman flügel always has been a main influence of the dial records family to finally release his >how to spread lies< 12inch (dial054) last year. podcasted and played by the most inspiring and lovely djs worldwide it became a suprising success for dial. the follow up brasil is another joint into roman flügels unique and unexpected productions again he brings eclectisism, modernism and dandyism under a groove. timeless.

after the very well-received work >in g< borngräber & strüver have not been resting on their laurels but made >reise< (journey). they extended the concept of >21th century electro motoric kraut< on the new album >urlaub< and added their preference for disco music. like a friend of the label said: >reise – sounds like a composition for the 20th birthday of carl craigs planet e<. borngräber & strüver have consistently worked on developing their minimalist compositions without taking into consideration conventions. the nearly 17-minute >reise< that starts extremely held back, grows into a groovy trip you can hardly escape. >berlin tribal music< has a radically minimalist approach and a surprising break like a portal to a parallel dimension. the last part of the album >dancing queen< has nothing to do with abba. the piece is a missing link between electronic h-pop and groovy club sounds.

for release no.4 sudden drop enlisted the talents of russian based recording artist & dj tripmastaz, who has been producing for the likes of morris audio and most noticeably dj sneaks magnetic recordings imprint since 2004. with each release his sound seems to get more defined and mature and our attention which seriously pricked when we first heard his tracks being played on jus-eds radio show. we quickly got in touch and asked for some tracks. first up is >utilized stock sounds<, originally produced in 2003 this melancholic slab of deep techno deservedly finally sees the light of day with a grimy lo-fi feel and enough dance floor nous to work the floor admirably. flip side track >botinko dub< injects a big, cavernous bass line and razor sharp hats n snares.

almost three years after their release >lake<, odessa appear appealing their scene again. actually, their privacy breaktime should not have been a musical discontinuance, too. but as it sometimes goes things happen abruptly. although the ep >memory leak< already was pre-produced in 2009 it got just recently a detailed finishing. leave off the idea these tracks could have had their half-life already, not at all. odessa stay here and now, presenting reduced, cool-organic house with wide atmospheres. even though odessa music keeps ascetical aesthetics since the beginning a certain pathos can deeply be felt. once again, but just for one track (>l aurore<), frederique frankes exceptional voice comes to effect.

the aliens dropped their first tune >exterminate< and >their here< to critical acclaim setting the dub step forums and dance floors alight. the guys now come with their second release and drop two brutal dub step bass heavy steppers on us. there is a lot of chatter about who the aliens are with names of a number of top dubstep artists in the frame. however it doesnt really matter who is behind this release as the music clearly speaks for itself. these new tunes have been causing chaos on the dance floor with their destructive basslines and nasty switches and being supported by the cream of the dub step scene including kromestar, skream, n type, hatcha, walsh, f1 and the aliens.

peter presto is not only the founder of pingipung, he is also the chap who did the first release on the label in 2002. since then all of his dub sounds have been available on 7inches, cause its simply the best format for these little gems. for summer of seven he has reworked a theme from a classic computergame adventure in his very own vivid, happy-go-lucky dub style. peter loves the melodies!

grime has been clawing its way back to the centre of underground uk music in a big way recently, riding a new wave of credibility in futurist iterations from terror danjah, hyperdub, and butterz. but with the rising profile of figures like slackk and the eski-aping sound of becoming real and sometimes jam city, theres been a pseudo-lionization and a growing mythology surrounding classic grime. honestly, its been a long time coming, the music is legendary for a reason. terror danjahs new(ish) hardrive label takes a bold step in 2011 with a sharp look back-ward, and in typically cyclical fashion it feels perfectly now. dating all the way back to 2004, p jams >anger management< is a minimal monster of a tune, slamming with the same slurred and blurred percussive elements of wileys essential >ice rink<.

parallel to the release of his album >selected works techno< ananda starts on basmati his live series. published here are the tracks which have been established on the floors during his recent live sets. the tracks hold almost forgotten practice to deceive an audience: occasional imprecision is a stylistic device, the post production was skipped, unpolished rough edges remain. live series vol.1 is coming with the tracks >alpha< and >smash<. this year at least 3 more releases of this series will appear on basmati.

christian burkhardt returns with his fourth solo single for raum musik. the title track of this ep which is called >bass horse< has been produced together with reuben woods from cape town better known as mey. if you listen to the tracks that are featured on this ep you will find out that all of them have a different mood but still they all got the non reversible burkhardt funk. all killer - no filler!

rosario born argentinean franco cinelli has been firmly rooted behind the decks since the tender age of 14. drawn by the call of the drums and having researched the creation of music through computers and samplers, the mid 90s saw cinellis first productions taking shape. rapidly becoming a key player on the argentine scene, franco played throughout the country, holding a residency at the prestigious el sotano.

hh3 is a techno masterpiece by top notch producer bill youngman. its futuristic and cold. massive dark drones and ambience build up its very unique atmosphere. for their remix of hh3, techno shooting stars sandwell district added some industrial flavor. imagine a steel worm drilling its way into the dancers souls and you almost got it. the last track of the ep entitled trilogy, shows another totally different side of bill: electronica thatís been made to tear your heart apart. wicked!
