this is the first of many bernadette trax vinyl only releases to come. named after my mother who got me started in all this, bernadette trax is my personal label, a vehicle for my music and a labour of love, specifically my love for deep underground house music of all kinds. the culmination of 30 years of influences, clubbing and too many late nights, this ep features my wonderfully talented friend and vocalist anna krestense gantelius glahn. hope you like it and play it

after a few years on hiatus, one electronica has gone all out in with a heavy debut 4 tracker from new member thought camera. the young belfast born producer who has been very busy in the studio putting together an arsenal of electronic weapons has also enjoyed an increase in popularity and profile in the local scene due to his hard work and commitment to the cause. with such a strong release about to drop in the next few weeks and with more unreleased material on its way this guy is worth keeping an eye on as a rising talent. without using too many bullshit analogies � this is release is simply dancefloor bliss and a djs dream that will be keep at the front of a record box for years to come and could be a favourite among various styles. the title track astral pilot comes in strong with spatial glitchy electronic chatter and tubular echoes that are pretty damn haunting. headspace comes in on a2 which is the antithesis of serenity and meditation that the name suggests. this acidic jack track is upbeat and laden with bass bleeding all over the place. flip it over and you have lifeforms on the b1 which is the most technical track on the release which ebbs and flows between solemn and sombre leaving you emotionally twisted yet intrigued this is one to look out for! obsession which aptly depicts this track a stalker in the night, haunting, imposing, friday 13th shit. not for the faint hearted.

hailing from the underground of berlin, family unit comes to life with a finely crafted debut from sauna. precise minimal house inspired grooves are accompanied by spaced out textures and euphoric jazzy chords. effective for those late night sessions! house is a family unit.

denis sulta has announced new offshoot to his sulta selects imprint, silver service. the debut release comes from cromby an irish born, berlin based producer on the up. following a thumping set at belfasts beloved ava festival, his new ep will be released on 21st september and features three peak-time club weapons, inspired by the sounds of classic chicago house. the lead futurola is a hard-hitting, jacking house track that packs a fierce bassline and emotive punch, whilst b1, barneymania is a chicago-tinged acid roller that layers melodic chords, the ep ends with the dark and sci-fi-tinged electro of fandango. the new label follows on from denis sulta�s selects imprint home to three volumes of his own essential 12inch series

comes with a huge 22x28 newprint poster in japanese sealed poly sleeve. chicago s beau wanzer returns to the label with his signature sound of crunched out bizarro electronics. tip! unmistakenly, wanzer has carved his own niche through the years as this ep rightly reflects the vast range of styles he works in. from the hypnotic head nod of wick hunny to the juicy back alley electro wave of the grim whim or the nasty metallic stomp of he spilled my drink we get wanzer in top freak form, mangling the drum machines and pushing the synths to the edge. a welcome return to say the least.

simbad teams up with south african vocalist brian temba, whose previous release together come join in dropped on hi:rise back in 2011. in it�s original form take my hand is a sublime, forward-looking deep and soulful house track based around a filtering symphonic string loop, low-slung groove and heart-felt vocal. simbad has created a very london-centric vibe but with a french touch and detroit sensibilities, drawing from house heroes such as parrish and bradock, joining the dots and creating a fresh masterpiece in the process. next up we have jimpster on the remix, picking up the bpm�s slightly and loading up on his trademark deep stabs, sub-bass and spacious fx adding just enough dance-floor bump whilst leaving the vocal placed firmly at the core. on the flip side we have two smbd zulu edits which replace the more spartan groove of the original with some driving afro percussion. the first version keeps the vocal intact, the second version goes balls deep into dub territory, closing out this amazing release with an instrumental pushing the strings and hypnotic groove front and centre

dutch duo deep dimension debut on rekids with a stomping vocal cut entitled �so 1992� featuring a collaborative remix from label founder radio slave and rising star p.leone. jeffrey hek & jimmy van de geijn have been actively djing for over two decades. the pair paired up as deep dimension in 2015, combining their talents to form a signature techno sound comprised of deep basslines and powerful kicks. launched earlier this year, their vinyl label named gen x has instantly picked up overwhelming support from the likes of radio slave, tommy four seven, benny rodriguez, kobosil, and many more. they now continue their upward trajectory by arriving on matt edwards� respected berlin based imprint, rekids. thudding kicks are joined by rising synths as pitched up vocals come into play in �so 1992�� the result is a rave inspired techno monster designed to throw crowds into frenzy. on the flip, radio slave pairs up with rekids regular p.leone for a cavernous reimagining complete with rolling percussion, off-beat hats and eerie atmospherics.

another master of the soundtrack is francesco de masi, that, through a long carrier, has moved between different genres, giving the soundtrack to spaghetti western movies (like vado l�ammazzo e torno) comedies, and action movies like la macchina della violenza (the big game), by robert day. a soundtrack that goes from tense and nervous songs, to soft ballads with female voice.

kawuku sound is the coming together of uk producers contours & cervo and ugandan percussion troupe fonkodelis arkestra. this is the culmination of a month-long creative process that was born out of the nyege nyege affiliated boutiq studio in kawuku, kampala - uganda. the music was written and recorded in this shared residency space, home to musicians and visual artists from all over east africa and beyond, and a hub for kampala s underground electronic music scene. boutiq studio s diy mentality provided the perfect environment for experimentation, allowing the fusion of these disparate sounds. kawuku sound is a reflection of this, merging the hypnotic and trance-inducing percussion of buganda drumming with elements of contemporary electronics and traditional instrumentation. this the first album release to come out on manchester imprint banana hill as they continue to push the boundaries of afro-electronic sounds.

korpus 9 records kicks off with a brand new ep from dubspeeka, featuring four tracks of high impact and atmospheric techno. korpus 9 records is a brand new techno label from russia managed by kwazalski. the main aim of the label is to release fresh and innovative material, not only digitally, but also on vinyl. all the imagery and influences of the label come from an abandoned research station that is deep underwater, where unusual events are happening around it on a constant basis. charged with the first release is shadowy bristolian producer dubspeeka, who has put out his music on drumcode, senso sounds and get physical, runs skeleton recordings and has a fierce techno sound. the opener here is garrison, a driving number with heavy drums and a warm but edgy mood. garrison 2 is more spaced out, with celestial pads baring a feeling of suspense above the firmly rooted drums. garrison 3 then has lumpy drums that bob up and down, as acid lines, water sounds and metallic hits all add atmosphere to the cavernous groove. last of all, garrison 4 is an eerie dub techno track with real drive but also plenty of thoughtful emotions. it closes out a brilliant first ep on this exciting new label.

hijacked records detroit is feeling inspired after hearing new work from one of our favourite allies in techno, jules wells. we felt it was our duty to deliver this to the people, three new productions from jules with a guest remix from our own antwon faulkner. please enjoy - -silent orchestra.- the title track from jules really set the bar for this release. jules really understands story telling with music and this track transports you to a time in techno that was both hopeful and beautifully heart breaking. a persistent chord progression is wrapped in celestial synth harmonies filing up the space all around you and reaching in. that classic clap is underpinned with a touch of acid, creating an edge. at the 4:33 mark an enchanting and haunting sign wave tells a melodic tragedy. strings come in delicately but wash over you completely. this track is both stunning and devastating.

although ultimately a comedy act, the cuban brothers are simultaneously serious musicians who have played with prince, been on the road with james brown and supported fatboy slim, chuck berry and de la soul to name but a few. 2018 will see them perform with a 12-piece band and a rotating roll-call of special guests on board to help them turn 20, including the average white band�s hamish stuart and the jungle brothers� baby bam. �la familia�, released 24th august via sunday best, features a brand new cubans track, �i hate hate�, alongside such classics by roy ayers, bill withers, erykah badu, a tribe called quest, children of zeus, d�angelo and more. the cuban brothers clearly have an impeccable taste in music.

2lp , full sleeve, as always with hell yeah, the next release comes from an artist label boss marco fell utterly in love with before forming a close musical relationship. his name is calm, and this summer he releases his eighth studio album, by your side. it is an effortlessly evocative long player and magical ten track trip into soothing sonic waters, glistening harmonies and horizontal rhythms. calm is legendary japanese artist fukagawa kiyotaka, someone who has been making deep house, ambient and downtempo grooves since the late nighties, and always teasing spine tingling emotions out of his machines. his last album�2015 s from my window�cast a real spell on marco and encouraged him to reach out. the pair eventually hooked up in tokyo and found real musical kinship while playing records together.

check b1 , played by marcel dettmann, amelie lens... the first of three samplers, comprised of selected tracks taken from spencer parker s new album, dance music out via his own label work them records. �there was no real concept behind the album, all i knew is that i wanted to do something honest. the tracks i make are the tracks i play in my sets and tracks i want people to dance to - that s where the title comes from.- - spencer parker. part one of the sampler opens with it was just a dream , a ghostly cauldron of glitches, bleeps and sound bites that locks you into a dazed state of hypnosis. next up, the oh hits with a taste of classic house, marrying emotive stabs, a tough kick and fizzing ride cymbals. on the b side, you re under my control now takes the sound industrial combining a kraftwerk-esque metronomic breath with rapid fire toms and a dynamic kick. absolutely raving closes out the first of parker s dance music samplers offering a rave leaning techno weapon that wouldn t be out of place in the hallowed grounds of berghain.

this ep combines the veteran talents of kniteforce label owner dj luna-c, with the debut release of kniteforce radio owner, the lowercase, and comes up with something quite unique. a love for heavy beats and inspired by some of the toughest old skool around, the ep delves into the underground in a big way, throwing caution to the wind and layering multiple breakbeats and aggressive stabs together to make a wall of hard sound, just like it was back in the day.

aar is a project by milan-based producer, dj and designer giorgio di salvo. the first grade lp is his first record under this name, self-released in collaboration with haunter records, the first chapter in a new series dedicated to tonal and rhythmic experimentation. advanced audio research is the ironic definition of this new music course of his, a nod to the large amount of esoteric studio gear accumulated and (ab)used during the years. the project itself is the result of years of study and experimentation with generative music matrices, based on the application of a three dimensional array of variables and unknowns to algorithmic pattern creation. the result is punishing, close to the most radical exploits in ear-wrenching breakcore, footwork and jungle, albeit with a sonic and structural finesse that reveals the producer�s manic dedication. track a-4 is produced in collaboration with somec and b-01 in collaboration with heith, channeling abstract and melancholic vibes into the project. vinyl comes in ultra ltd. edition of 100 copies, each one wrapped in a different hand-printed folder.

edizioni mondo as a label, has the goal to produce music that is descriptive of concepts, images and environments. inspired by library music, a genre frequently used as theme or background music in radio, film and television in that very same period, the name mondo has its roots in mondo movies, an italian movie genre born in the 60�s. mondo movies are characterized by documentary-like content that addresses several topics from around the world (mondo). numero nove comes courtesy of rotla. also known as mario pierro and raiders of the lost arp, waves is his third contribution to edizioni mondo. downtempo, trippy, playful and pardon us, balearic, its the soundtrack to the fading summer or the one starting somewhere else in this universe. accompanied by remix works from label head l.u.c.a. and balearic (again!) mastermind mark barrott with his sketches form an island healing hands, its the most balearic (threes a charm) record you will hear this side of the summer (wherever you are).

the legacy series is a showcase for artists that have been with the label for a long time or are a significant or part of our history. each legacy release has new remixes, unreleased material, remasters and will be either a single or double vinyl with a single or double cd. alk-e-d�s legacy ep is a thing of beauty, both musically and visually. the record comes shrinkwrapped, and the sleeve has a spine. all 4 remixes on the vinyl are superb, pushing the boundaries of hardcore and displaying the qualities of alk-e-d�s original tunes while maintaining their integrity and bringing them to a whole new level.

recorded at the age of 14, in 1956, under the direction of her father, reverend c. l. franklin, these gospel recordings of a teenaged aretha franklin are not just a sign of the brilliance to come, they are a force unto themselves. at this time aretha was performing in her father�s church, new bethel, in detroit, and traveling with her father�s »gospel caravan« tours, performing with the likes of sam cooke & the soul stirrers. like so many of the soul and r&b stars of the 50s and 60s, aretha started out in the church and it was there that she made some of her most powerful and transcendental music.

till today fumio itabashi is a vital part of the japanese jazz culture as a live performer and film score composer. those who want to see how he makes love with his piano should check the world wide web for the french documentary jazzed out, that captured his unique way of playing in one episode. but as music is always firstly for the ears, and not for the eyes, this little letter in-front of you would rather like to recommend to play the �watarase� recordings loud to get hooked by the highly infectious piano gems that have been recorded at nippon columbia 1st studio in tokyo on 12th and 13th of octo-ber 1981. they will haunt you. they will come for good. and they will force you to be a good friend with the repeat button � whatever medium you chose to surrender to the piano jazz music of fumio itabashi.
