REMIX SERIES VOL. 4 (RMXS BY ANJA SCHNEIDER . DANIEL STEFANIK)
12" Vinyl D28.11.06
the last chapter of a four-piece vinyl remi x series including eight exclusive in-house remixes.but the mobilee crew is still on >back to back< tour and rocking several cities during the next month. the chapter is closed by the label boss hersel f. anja schneider has her way with daniel stefanik s anthem >the bells< and she is definitely >back from the valley< . this tune develops a lot of energy without opening all floodgates.and stefanik—not to be bested—does his magic on exercise one s >debaya< . mobilee seems to be daniels field for rave experiments. you never guess what happens in the final sequence while listening to the first seconds of this track. another old school lesson from a new school producer
this past summer pan-pot made a mark with their first release on mobilee in quite some time entitled >confronted<. for the confronted remixes we invited on board a couple of our favorite artists for their take on pan-pot. adam beyer and jesper dahlbäcks remix presents us with a harder version of the original that is even more driving. industrial and gargantuan that its predecessor. blurps of noise and static. air-clearing thunderclaps and extensive distortion make the epic nature of the original even more colossal. here the vocals of the original take the backseat and. when they do appear. they do so in a fragmented and distorted form. with intense atmospherics that demand your attention. beyer and dahlbäcks remix focuses exclusively on the darkest components of the original. martin landskys remix starts off at an easier pace than its a-side. exploring the softer side of >confronted<. whereas the a-side puts the original in overdrive. the b-side focusing on subtle changes while toning down the noise and static. the edge and rawness of the original is still maintained. but in a more melodic form that continually laces the backdrop.
part 2 of the limited edition vinyl series for the >hi five mobilee< compilation is quite a contrast to its predecessor with more hip swingin housey vibes. moon harbours daniel stefanik first appeared on mobilee at the very early stages of the label. with his track >the bells< on the limited edition add-on release to pan-pots >obscenity< ep. back then his style was associated with old school sounds. detroit energy and chicago vibes. and his track for mobilee068 >tripiando los colores< shows that hes still rocking this to full effect. this is one for the summer! on the b-side of this release. label stalwart marcin czubala brings us >spinning la roulette<. which is sure to get the dance floor moving! straight in with a very funky bassline. playful percussion and hypnotic groove. it offers guaranteed fun on a plate. his recent release with hugo. zoo communale. stormed the charts and we hope you enjoy spinning la roulette in the same way!
the final part to the limited edition hi five mobilee! vinyl series features tracks from mobilees head lady. anja schneider. and one of the very first artists on the mobilee roster. sebo k. each of the artists careers have grown and flourished with the label. and whilst retaining many elements from their signature styles. these tracks also show how they have developed their sound over the last five years. sebo ks way back comes with a funky house bass line and colorful synths. creating a very full and warm sound. and one that is topped with an element of old school vibes. as with all of his releases. its classically built for the dance floor and one that will be enjoyed by many. meanwhile. anja schneiders >something left<. has a more minimal and isolated feel to it. broken up with the soulful voice of cari golden. completely contrasting to sebo ks a side. it makes this an interestingly varied release!
miss kittins brand new ep for mobilee. >all you need<. brings her sultry yet punchy vocals back to the floor with a classic electro bassline. with a remix from lee van dowski its not for the fainthearted. enjoy!

sebo ks last release on mobilee. diva. was a hit. and one of mobilees most popular tracks in 2008. since then hes primarily stayed under the radar. popping up only momentarily to release a track on cecille in july of 2009. with his new release spirits. sebo returns not only to mobilee but also to the sonic tropes that propelled him to success in the first place. undulating melodics that stretch like rubber bands. a funky bass line. and a jacking house beat: within the first few seconds of hearing spirits one immediately recognizes the slew of sounds with which sebo k made his name. the track takes its time to build as well. riding the groove for a bit before bringing a singular. high pitched note into the picture. as it continually gains momentum and rises in intensity. the captivating sounds of a piano arrive. adding yet another layer of familiar and hypnotic melody. all the tracks components merge seamlessly. with percussive accents here and there until staccato strings make a dramatic entrance. fluttering and dialogue with the rest of the tracks components. by the end of the track. the piano has gotten back in the drivers seat. steering the track along it s course. the drum version builds off the vintage house sounds of the a-side but substitutes extensive percussion from max moya for the strings and piano
pampa is a new label from old pals dj koze and marcus fink. dedicated to releasing club music that s seriously danceable without recourse to the tried and tested ingredients. a home for house and techno tunes that will conquer hearts and take root there forever. music that s brave and not afraid to break with convention

pan-pot’s debut longplayer pan-o-rama turns out to be the gift that just keeps on giving. first there was the lead single >charly>. backed by an infectious remix from lady mobilee herself. anja schneider. now they hand the baton to marco resmann and zander vt. who each perform their own magic on two more killer cuts from the album.

propelling down under techno and house into the worlds clubs with classics such as phreakin. lsd and 6am in the mid-90s. djhmc (cam bianchetti) is rightly hailed as the * godfather of australian techno*.

following the s_w_z_k debut album. which came out on tresor records before the summer. david brown offers here further insights into the most recent developments of his new departure. receiving the help of long-time collaborator and friend richard davis. the duo continues its dive into the concrete and metallic landscapes found on their eponymous lp effort. the variant & empires ep however marks somewhat of a slight departure from the obscure experimental investigations previously undertaken. tc4 variant is a roaring number. aiming specially at the dancefloor and taking the duos energy to its highest point. while second city of the empire intimately unveils the deeper side of their enterprise.

only a very small handful of djs and producers have the ability to transcend all styles and genres. rising above fleeting trends and cliques creating their very own sonic landscapes. gallic legend laurent garnier sits effortless amongst those few. blending techno. deep house. drum n bass and jazzy funk with total ease. his latest opus >tales of a kleptomaniac< released on may 11th 2009. pushes his already vast musical boundaries further than ever before. showcasing a devilish diversity that has made him one of dance musics greatest assets.kicking off with the classic skyy sampling >no music. no life< laurent takes no prisoners with block party chants and handclaps making way for some mind expanding bleepage and cone ripping bass. >freeverse part 1< follows at a deceptively relaxed pace before thundering 808s and the superlative gallic rhymes of micflow build into high octane lounge funk. replete with lilting horns and screaming guitars. current single >gnanmankoudji (horny monster mix)< heads into epic territory with driving four to the floor kicks. cut up vocals and tribal percussion laying the foundation for a menacing bass progression peppered with stabbing horns. film noir soundtrack vibes permeate the double bass and shuffling beats of >dealing with the man< before >last dance @ yellow<s deep and blissful four in the morning loops take hold. >desirless< features classic laurent grooves. growing exponentially as the track snakes its way into your head and all the way down to your feet whilst the lustful >pay tv<s breathy samples and libidinous grooves burst into life with huge drums and crushing bass making like a 21st century serge gainsbourg. >bourre pif (avant bath time!)< cranks up the bpms. rinsing some firing drum n bass leading into a return to >freeverse< this time with a stripped to the bone mix featuring tumi spitting the lyrics over the disrobed beats and subs. >back to my roots (back to my technodiziak roots mix)< displays the sort of expansive percussive techno the likes of which only laurent garnier can make. as >food for thought<s digital dub lays the framework for legendary electric dread winston mcanuff to strut his stuff. leaving the laidback twisted jazz flavours of >from deep within< to close >tales of a kleptomaniac<.
