there is this very small but beloved festival called gratwanderung near the middle of nowhere in a stone quarry south to leipzig, germany. juno6 together with matthias speck were the choice of the festival organizers to create their very first split ep -gratwanderung musik 1. absoluteley brillant electronic stuff!

paradise club recordings are due to serve up another eclectic ep later this month – their first selection of what they have in store for 2013 – and it’s one that furthers the label’s trend of showcasing the many different styles at their disposal from their current roster.label stalwart jabru kicks things off with ‘last days of rome’, an aptly-titled cut that begins by traipsing through ambient swells and looms, only to then brew up a truly decadent, central dancehall rhythm.

stefan schutz aka juno6 belongs to the society of the leipzig new school, which for the last 5 years has cut a path through emotions and change in diverse regions. his particular real estate is comfortably between deeper house and thoroughly scrutinized techno. sometimes he tends in one direction, at other times the opposite. all the while juno6 captivates both listeners and dancers alike with something new. his live sets are always an occasion – sound expeditions in the most literal sense embedded powerfully, yet imminently fresh as they are bound to tradition. he even dials up the the ambient/electronic field with project beautiful planet earth, or together with friend daniel stefanik as sensual. the sonic awareness of juno6 is expressed consistently as a potent degree of warmth, which paints a distinct lively and long-lasting tone on club music. the tone is hardly useful as a flavor of the month, but rather, a music with stamina and character. his track >guununk< is for more than a few the quiescent highlight of the fat 5zig compilation. on his second from fat, he displays the juno6 portfolio fully and expands his present effect with a portion of funkiness and a sprinkle of pop – at least on one of the cuts. with clever vocals mr. schulz informs us yet again.

there is no doubt that leipzig is a pulsating place in terms of electronic music. however, the potential of the city seems to be experiencing a new surge - not least due to up-and-coming producers like sven tasnadi and stefan schultz aka juno6. both belong to the generation of musicians who initially released their tracks for free on net-labels but have since have made the leap to vinyl. while sven tasnadi has already released great eps on liebe*detail, smallville records and of course on cargo edition, juno6 just recently made his debut with >salamis< in spring 2008 on broque. now they have joined forces with their first collaboration for cargo edition. both tracks on the ep are characterised by elaborate rhythms, a special deepness and intricately arranged sounds. >aramis< tells apparently different stories which merge seamlessly during its 14 minutes. the track also explores the hypnotic moments on the dancefloor in a very subtle and complex manner - reduced but full of vibrancy at the same time. >genau so< on the b-side takes a similar line, but adds a spark of funk, which combines to form its distinctive rhythm. sven tasnadi & juno6 have created two modern house tracks which are full of character.

bruno patchworks hovart is one of the top producers of todays groove music scene. after playing as a bassist and guitarist for various bands, he started producing in the mid-nineties and has kept on mixing todays technologies with the raw spirits of house, electronic, disco, funk, soul, reggae & jazz musics golden years since then. following the trail of success left by his various projects as patchworks, and under many aliases, hes proved his musical ubiquity and unexpectedly stroke in various genres. today, hes back under the edr records umbrella, following up to his various ep for the label, and meanwhile pursuing a comeback to his early love for house music. many house music diggers would indeed remember that before favorite recordings was launched in 2006, patchworks and pascal rioux produced many deep-house tracks on the rotax disques imprint. besides since the late 90s, patchworks has also collaborated with labels such as q-tape, or still music, delivering many clubbing hits such as million toes, sugar, or minautor. on this 5 tracks ep, he delivers 4 killer tunes again, inspired by the michael jackson’s classic hit, rock with you.

sgol recordings are beyond excited to welcome danvers into our fold, with his debut release omiyage. omiyage translates as ‘gift’ or ‘souvenir’ in japanese, which is exactly how this ep came to life. danvers was gifted all the hardware that was used to create the six tracks on this record, six tracks that have been packaged and gifted to us. the ep takes the listener on a trip inside a musical mind that has the ability to take memories and weave them into a rich, sonic tapestry. it perfectly showcases danvers’ effortless skills in sensitive production and sampling, layering shimmering synths with glistening high-hats and building them into swirling dance-floor rhythms. each track forms a part of a figurative journey taking the wide-eyed listener on a symphonious tour leaving them with an overwhelming feeling of wonderment, whilst lulling them into wistful respite.

a special release for a special artist this is microtraumas newest drop. after gaining lots of attention for their recent output on traum schallplatten and nick warrens sudbeat label the duo goes back to their roots and presents the juno ep. techno with emotion – maybe the best description for the originals. remix works are coming from sql (trapez, respekt, sk supreme), groj and oliver lieb (bedrock, yoshitoshi) who remixed microtraumas first big tune aktin which was released on microtonal 005.

these 4 tracks bring pieces of emotions and take you all the way to sao paulo, brazil. davis, a pillar in the brazilian housemusic scene is know for marathon dj sets. these tracks are written with two-fold intention, both an invitation to connect within and an opportunity to escape.

marvis dee opens the newly varnished in the my dreams imprint with a boogie-led 5-track ep of late-night 80s house and slow groove-soaked beats. drawing from the magical influence of the conga-a-plenty tr-727 drum machine along with stomach rumbling basses and glistening synth romanticism conjured from the same machine. sailing over alpha moon is the first in a 3 ep series exploring these ideas, machines and the nostalgic attachment to things we have once experienced but may not remember. trapped solely in the memories of others, but returning in our dreams.

on side a you will find two classic tech-house tunes but yet dark underground. the single track on side b is a long travell slowly changing it s acid theme, more experimental & minimal than we are used to hear from tilliander.

dnb associate, good friend, headonist, and culinary expert george levings is the second member of dnb super group commix to wander astray from the confines of 170 bpm. as endian he has forged himself a very credible reputation as an adept creator of underground dance music. these four offerings will further advance his credentials. with its sonic roots nicely split between chicago, detroit, london and manchester this ep has a nice balance between old and new. there are 3 tracks he has produced individually and a forth he did with label boss trevino. enjoy...

maeve is the record label run by three close friends, mano le tough, the drifter and baikal. some years ago, mano and the drifter ran a clubnight in berlin called passion beat. aera was their guest a couple of times. its very fitting that aera now joins us for maeve 06. aera s original you know juno comprises of warm arps and a dark hypnotic bassline over a jacking house beat. on first hearing the track, the drifter was keen to do a remix. his interpretation is a dark take on the original, boosting the bassline, adding a driving beat and pushing the drama to high levels.

since its inception in 2009 slow motion has set the standard for new wave of italian dance music producers. with over 15 releases in the archive the italo/berlin based label is now about to drop its first ever compilation italian dance wave. bringing together some of the secret weapons that label boss franz underwear has had tucked away in his record bag with brand new tracks from the likes of clap rules, bottin and riders of the lost arp this compilation packs a mighty punch with its 22 tracks.
