Sgol Recordings are beyond excited to welcome Danvers into our fold, with his debut release Omiyage. Omiyage translates as ‘gift’ or ‘souvenir’ in Japanese, which is exactly how this EP came to life. Danvers was gifted all the hardware that was used to create the six tracks on this record, six tracks that have been packaged and gifted to us. The EP takes the listener on a trip inside a musical mind that has the ability to take memories and weave them into a rich, sonic tapestry. It perfectly showcases Danvers’ effortless skills in sensitive production and sampling, layering shimmering synths with glistening high-hats and building them into swirling dance-floor rhythms. Each track forms a part of a figurative journey taking the wide-eyed listener on a symphonious tour leaving them with an overwhelming feeling of wonderment, whilst lulling them into wistful respite.
