im a cliches first release of 2016 comes from label boss cosmo vitelli. after a five year hiatus during which he was kept busy by his band bot ox and relocating from paris to berlin, this is the very first release to come out of his new studio located in berlins marzahn district.

those who have been following the cosmology series from its inception will no doubt be familiar with the ad hoc release schedule and will perhaps have grown accustomed to the diverse range of styles that their eps encompass. each one has trodden a different path in the pursuit of updating pivotal dancefloor memories and cosmology volume four is the most ambitious reworking to date. the choice for this instalments source material is a topical one as the influence here comes from herman sonny blount, better known as the free jazz pioneer sun ra.

multitalented berlin based virtuoso cosmo klein rocketed into the limelight back in 2010 with his collaboration alongside syke n sugarstarr & dbn on my belief , dominating the european dance charts whilst staying at no.1 in germany for several weeks.

the new year starts with the welcome news that the cosmologist returns with episode three of the cosmology series. trip 1 started life as a tribute to 70s radical firebrands the last poets and their 1977 clarion call to arms, *its a trip*. a loose and ever changing collective, the initial line up was formed on may 19.1968 to mark malcolm xs birthday, having all met at east wind, a harlem based writers work shop. they took their name from a revolutionary south african poet keorapetse kgositisile who rightly prophesized that the talking would soon give way to the persuasiveness of the gun. continuing that thought, civil rights for african americans was very much the beat of the last poets, a cause they would champion and indeed, were not afraid to back up their mighty words with direct action.

returning from a faraway place with a far away sound, the hotly anticipated follow up from the cosmologist has landed. those who supported cosmology volume one will know what to expect and volume 2 arrives with refreshingly little fanfare.

teaming up with syke n sugarstarr & dbn from hamburg cosmo hits the dancecharts in several countries like britain, spain, austria, france and staying on no. 1 for several weeks in germany with >my belief<. the song beautiful lie, a cooperation with keemo & tim royko became a huge no. 1 hit in portugal and brazil. in portugal his fans let cosmo win the best live act award 2011 of one the biggest portoguese radiostations nova era. 2, 7 million clicks on you tube only for beautiful lie speak for itself.
