turkish duo hiccup, which produces a kind of electronic dance music with an experimental approach entitles the 9th release of avosync >radiance<, a techno ep containing 4 driving tracks including a remix by kaiser.
known and admired for its rich and moody ambient and techno output, field records is proudly presenting a brand new lp from iori. his mesmerizing ambient excursions come under the title of cold radiance, and the album features eight tracks that suck you right into his world. each track here is a long and absorbing affair that slowly unfolds and pulls you right into its grainy core. there are dark, texturally rich tracks that are full of menace as well as more heavenly, suspensory and angelic ambient offerings.
long-time techno protagonist and figure mainstay johannes heil returns with a new 4-track package under his cryptik pseudonym. continuing the focus on a more leftfield, experimental sound, cryptik emerses the listener into a soundtrack world of rich sound, depth of field and versatile, changeable moods. by no means a simple club record, all four tracks offer subtle and rich musical content, each telling a story with beautiful melancholic melodies and rushes of endorphins. from elongated 10 minute journeys into the more reflective zones of heils techno world, snaking and building, showing off all the skills he collected over his 20 years-plus career at the top of his artform, crypik is a dance on the senses. from the cinematic elegance of >the gate<, or the bleep-laden epic of >radiance<, to the post-house piano led drama of >messenger< or the heavyweight synth swarms of >belief<, the ep is full of passion and life, capturing truly magic moments.
pure records never disappoints - obviously! another brilliant & magic release including awesome tunes youll instantly fall in love with.patrick schulze hitting you up with his debut on pure and marc depulse & boe delivering a simply awesome remix
there are few artists who manage to successfully develop a signature style that not separates them from the rest. aybee is one of those rare few that has managed to conquer a range of styles within his work from soul, techno, house and hip-hop under his many monikers. this time we see the us artist team up with miles sagnia for two cuts each on the eternal radiance ep on sagnias atmospheric existence imprint. taking over the a-side, aybee serves up >a glance< which oozes with classic us house charm. acoustic piano chords and are layered on top of a chugging bassline and electronic melody, tightly produced and melting in its warmth. >isis< gets heavier with a more underground vibe of crashing echoes and tinny drum arrangements. on the flip, sagnias >journey 2 forever< fuses multi-tracked choral chants, the impeccable sound of the hammond and a rapid techy groove. his visual foci reprise of >journey 2 forever< ditches the chants, instead opting for a sensual male vocal
travel agents for inner journeys seahawks take us on a voyage ever deeper into the new age vortex. their last album ‘escape hatch’ described by vice as a ‘modern masterpiece’ only hinted at the transcendent power of seahawks music. eternal beams goes ‘further’ to create a whole new harmonial experience. side one: the listener immersed in a soft storm of tape saturated raindrops and distant thunder…numinous waves of sound cascade to create whirlpools of womb-like warmth with gentle pulsations. side two: enter laraaji… flocculent flows of golden zither, rich vocal vibrations, dolphin tones in phantasy phase - all coalesce generously, bringing feelings of rebirth and light. to conclude: a wondrous journey of resonant oscillations, inner exploration, a portal to other dimensions.#
2018 repress !! minimalism and monotony but always fascinating, the basic channel sound moves every fan of futuristic music. no understanding of berlin techno can forgo this revelatory music. this treatment from scion draws out these beloved sounds, laying down an extended mix that strikes from the core of tresor s unmistakeable identity.
following hivers excellent ep, let recordings again welcomes american dj and producer jon hester to their imprint. currently based in berlin but with previous spells in chicago and minneapolis, he returns to the label for a second ep following 2017s communication ep, and other outings on the likes of rekids and dystopian. his adventurous drum programming and high speed techno style kicks things off with radiance, a manically melodic track that takes you on an energetic trip. impermanence is a deeper, more cinematic piece that features rueful pads but still a driving drum line, then stratospheric has huge, hammering kick drums and squelchy synth sounds as well as dancing keys that bring warmth, groove, and soul. last of all, this high class excursion is completed with horizon, delivering barreling drum patterns and edgy pads that trap you in suspense as it races on. all four tracks deliver a high impact techno sound that very much looks to the future.
vast, expansive and introspective works utilising place-specific found sound on this second cremation lily lp for alter. contemplating mortality, illness and the perennial bleakness of british winter in a seaside town we find zen zsigo experimenting with piano, violin, synthesiser and walkman tape players. layering field recordings of the hastings shoreline atop druggy, stretched out 303 basslines and snippets of spoken word there seems to be an overarching thematic of memory and reflection at play. from vignettes of crumbling glass and bittersweet drones through to sprawling, semi-rhythmical pieces (‘as a sea creature...’) it seems as if zsigo is trawling the coast for fragments of its former glory. the end result of his study manages to echo the work of yoran, leyland kirby and even jacob kirkegaard yet the rare moments where he lays bare his own vocal narrative seemingly transforms in england now, underwater into sonic diary territory. mixing salt-water soaked cassette loops with haunting, minimalist piano motifs and warped recordings of crashing waves and bird noise an intense atmosphere of ballards drowned world is evoked through sound.
the maghreban aka ayman rostom is one of the most unique and respected beat makers working in house and techno today. his dusky grooves, heavy bass pressure and clanking drum breaks sound like they were dredged from the bottom of the river nile, imbued with a maverick personality that shares kinship with the likes of detroits andres and waajed, making him a perfect fit on r&ss storied roster of pioneering outsiders.
snaker under chari chari and a missing myth of the future as kaoru inoue were his latest albums back in 2013. time has come to finally celebrate his much awaited return with the exquisite em paz lp. a celestial ambient collection that will drive us through a beautiful imaginary place where the quest for peace is central. in fact, all kinds of peace. em paz will spontaneously make you seek for some brian eno or jon hassell albums because it emerges from that same timeless place. a very strong conceptual and listening album from the beginning to the very end.

we are back again with russian artist, module one. at just 22 years-old he is already had a stack of releases including an ambient album on detroit underground. * hometown* was written in the depths of russia in a place called novocherkassk, whose industrial cityscapes made a great impact on the overall sound of the album. most of the tracks were written in a few takes. most notably, the track * innermost self* is a dedication to module ones grandma who passed away a short time ago. due to a tragic sequence of events, he was unable to see her before she fell into a coma. the track is overloaded with tension and fear as well as stark anxiety. vinyl tastes better…
straight forward and multi-layered, analogue machine funk with a motor city flare out of moscow. -northern route- ep is an intriguing piece of music that sounds futuristic and vintage at the same time. heavyweight 180 gramm vinyl only release

minimal wave: both a genre of underground diy electronic music from north america and europe in the late 1970s and 80s, and the name of the label devoted to unearthing these recordings. the minimal wave tapes is the first official anthology of minimal wave music from this label. most of the songs were originally released on limited edition cassettes or vinyl by the artists themselves, and only a handful of people knew about them. they ve been remastered from their analog source tapes and compiled here by minimal waves veronica vasicka and stones throws peanut butter wolf.
some sublime athmospheric techno tracks that go somewhere between dubstep, detroit techno and broken beat / garage. roof light did an excellent job on this 4 track ep with tracks that are light but full of emotion and athmosphere. radiance is for sure one of the high lights with its minimal funky bass line and cut up beats and massive strings layered on top. around here is the main track with its 90s two step rhythm and its deep athmospheric sounds and vocals. ltj bukem goes dubstep? not sure who is the producer... but if its a debut its pretty impressive. great release! must have for all the martyn and 2562 fans!
