alex metric & ten vens transmission 1 is their first release on diynamic, although their productions are not unheard of in the labels orbit as solomun has been supporting them heavily in his sets throughout recent months. opening track the q, much like the closing track plates, are reminiscent of old uk garage raves with a hint of acid. minuscule shifts in the pitch give that certain cassette-nostalgia, transporting the listener back to the early 90s. the centre piece titled nebula is a driving melodic deep house tune with a hefty break that brings things to a halt right at its centre, only to return with the catchy riff that is its main feature.

rq’s debut lp for blu mar ten music, ‘solid ground’, occupies a darkly dreamlike hinterland, located somewhere between the retro-futurism of photek and alice coltrane’s jazz psychedelia. fragmented, distant beats, rippling modal patterns and restrained astral basslines provide rhythmic and harmonic anchors to a constellation of timbres and textures.

things tend to move in circles until they are complete. such is the case with wph ten-8. when fcl released their ‘cherry pie e.p.’ on kai alcé’s ndatl label it was already decided that kai alcé would find a home on wph as well. and with his absolutely stunning string of remixes of recent years in mind it made sense to ask kai to take up remix duties for a new fcl release. . the result is a release that oozes soul all over. the original track is fcl’s ‘let’s make a track and have great singers aka lady linn and gustaph singing about house music’-moment and kai’s remix is…well…simply another amazing slice of soul from the man that can do no wrong. it’s house music…as you should know it.
