the motech label has been building a high reputation of late but it’s actually been three years since co-owner, detroit’s dj 3000 (franki juncaj) released a 12 inch of his own. putting that to rights, he delivers take me away, due for release in april and featuring a deadly remix by truncate. the original version of take me away is a deep and hypnotic builder with a relentless groove that stands astride detroit techno and tough house, a style that dj 3000 has championed over the years. truncate is the alias of audio injection (la’s david flores). his remix ups the tempo and adds an infectious vocal cut-up, turning take me away into a raw, hard-hitting cut. the truncate remix has already been picked up by eats everything for his new fabric mix, out soon, as well as receiving early support from dave clarke on his white noise radio show and ben sims on the october edition of run it red.

2015 has been a busy year for soul intent. relocating from nottingham to bromley, releasing -the fruit club ep- on lossless in march, his -wanna fight ep- dropped on klute s commercial suicide in august, the sci-fi themed -replicant- marked lossless music s first digital only release in october and his -late night sleaze ep- has been awarded mixmag s dnb tune of the month (nov 15 issue). on top of all this alex is about to launch two (yes two!!) sub-labels for lossless music. the first of these is exkursions. exkursions will cater for the deeper, more experimental side of dnb & electronic music. though concentrating it s tempo focus around the 170 mark exkursions will also be taking explorations down into slower soundscapes. the first release is a 3 tracker from soul intent and the tracks have already turned the heads of respected selectors including doc scott, presha, loxy and logistics. we won t say much for than that, we ll let the music do the talking.

late october will find cosmin trgs fizic label release its third ep, and a second missive for 2015. once again it comes from the romanian label owner and ever evolving producer, and this time features four more fierce cuts that take abstract inspiration from musique concrete or ballards high rise novel. opener sever is an expertly stripped back bit of concrete basement funk with scurrying alien sounds, frosted lo-fi textures and firmly rooted, propulsive kick drums driving the whole thing along.

after putting out releases from the likes of uk rave legend warlock and baltimore rapper rye rye produced by bullion, dave maclean of django djangos kick + clap label announces tom furses run to me suite with because music, due out 9th october. on run to me furse has mapped out the ep as one opus divided into five cohesive parts. referencing early techno it has one foot in cologne and the other in detroit, with its tightly worked, precise machino-florescence, condensed and upfront, and free of the pomposity that abounds in the genre. a sound enamored with kraftwerk, juan atkins and yello, it underpins a latent narrative on themes of love, machines and obliteration.

keeping the concept of a tight knit family of artists, up next on sol asylum is the follow up ep for the dilated pupils titled introducing remi. this collective of likeminded artists from the netherlands return to the label with a solid four-track ep that shows their range and diversity as producers. moving full speed ahead we start off with “remi at 21.16” a track that instantly hypnotizes you on the dance floor with its echoing harmonic synths and a complex metallic snare pattern. the track is a slow burner that explodes when the dirty analog kick, swinging bassline, and filtered percussion melt into an atomic fusion. next we take it to the next level with “do” its underwater bubbling percussion, bleeping stabs and eerie synth take us to the far off corners of space with just enough acid to keep our heads down and grooving to the strobe light in a dark room. as we move into fall with “october times” a tightly woven groove and galloping kicks push us into more experimental territory with soaring vintage synths that create tension and finesse at the same time. finally we finishing things off with the esoteric vibes of “suque” this deep and dirty track channels the positive force from another realm, which is the perfect match for the inspiriting concept of sol asylum.

new years deal - with toby tobias debut lp for delusions of grandeur dropping on the 16th october we wanted to give you a little taste of what to expect with a couple of tracks plus a brilliant remix from dog regular franc spangler. kicking things off we have the twisted machine funk of the wonder featuring vocals from atwell. 808 beats bringing the vintage electro vibes whilst atwell’s vocal hints at the golden era of chicago house, adding a soulful touch to the rigid groove. next up is only getting better, diving into deeper waters with bubbling pads and pulsing bass line. finally, we have franc spangler getting busy on the remix, turning in a floor focused jam which brings the vocal to the fore and a big beefy bassline to bounce to.

martins *escape from south warren* lp will arrive on october 5th on the label operated by frank juncaj, aka dj 3000. juncaj calls martin an *unsung hero of detroit techno* and cites his label, teknotika records, which has been running since 1993, as a key influence. the first remix ep, due out september 11th, features reworks by robert hood and dj 3000 in addition to two original cuts. mark broom and rolando contribute to the second ep, which arrives on october 12th.

aus music continue their expeditious release schedule and follow up records from dj t., youandewan and geeeman with another addition to the label from saints & sonnets boss michael dodman aka huxley. having released a slew of eps through aus as well his debut album blurred back october 2014, huxley returns with a cross-genre 12inch that demonstrates perfectly why hes remained a long term staple for the label. few artists have held their ground as well as huxley. across an acclaimed catalogue thats seen releases on hypercolour, 2020 vision and tsuba he has managed to astutely touch on many bases whilst constantly keeping his output fresh and relevant. now - 6 years since his breakthrough collaboration with ethyl on cecille numbers, huxley reaffirms his position at the top of the tree and presents his 2.0 ep: 4 prime-time cuts bursting with powerful drum work, charming vocal samples and tape driven synths all deftly arranged to do serious damage on the floor.

rat life returns with the pagan rites on catalog number 4. little is known about the band from sweden, first signals were received in 2010 when they submitted their track 03 to the ifm demo contest. in october last year rat life sent out a submarine to search the swedish coast line for the small hut where the duo records their songs (apologies to the swedish authorities at this point, who confused our research with a russian military threat). all four tracks are packed with bittersweet melancholia, reflecting the neverending darkness of cold scandinavian winter, still the midnight sun is always in sight on the horizon! already recorded between 2008 - 2013, rat life records is very happy to finally make this music available on vinyl.

limited nice price blow out ... disconet was created as subscription program service, which professionally selected and mixed disco music for discotheque djs, mobile discos and radio stations. disconet is called as the granddaddy of all remix services and provided mixed/segued dj dance sets, not only to make the djs job a little bit easier, but to expose club goers to new music. the djs spinning at the height of the disco era were given access to a new creative tool - a different interpretation of current dance tunes to wow club goers. originally, the disconet records were to be issued on a monthly basis which were limited to 1000 - 1500 copies of each volume. the first disconet record was released in october 1977. disconet team at that time was: tom savarese, bobby dj guttadaro and kevin guilmet as well as mike wilkinson. tom, bobby and kevin were dj legends, who had already been awarded with the dj of the year title by billboard. these greatest hits volumes contain their finest work, the original licensed disco edits of all the floor fillers of the time that have been re issued for your listening pleasure. expect many more volumes in the near future.

last year fulbert & bastien released a very limited cassette including unreleased tracks and more experimental works, this has been sought after and a sampler of it is now available on vinyl. tracks differ slightly from their original cassette version but the atmosphere is the same: that deep and dark feeling of that cold october evening when they compiled all the tracks. at bastiens studio, rue du mont cenis, in montmartre. strictly limited to 300 copies

3024 is reissuing martyn s 2009 collaboration with hyperdub poet the spaceape, who passed away last october. is this insanity? comes from martyn s debut album great lengths and was his first collaboration with the spaceape. the vinyl also features the previously unreleased track camberwell green and the highly sought after remix of is this insanity by germany s techno don ben klock!

known as pantaleon perez prado, was the younger brother of the famous king of mambo. pantaleon, who came to europe in the 1950s, recorded several albums with unifunk. a powerful big funk band sound featuring: tullio de piscopo, mario rusca, paolo tommelleri, pino prestipino and others. for this second lp, the obscure vocalist don alfio had gained enough prestige within the band to share the top of the bill with the bandleader. that is probably because, in october 1973, the love child 45rpm (which has nothing to do with the 1968 supremes hit) had enjoyed a good airplay on supersonic, a daily italian public radio show that presented a lot of freshly released records. the djs explicitly credited the record to don alfio with perez prado. the reviving of chicago banana from escandalo!, plus many new tracks including circle, imperfect and the jazzy chato, gave the record a precise latin-funk attitude. bossanova evergreen bahia (also known as na baixa do sapateiro) and a synthled version of ciliegi rosa (cherry pink and apple blossom white) are the only two concessions to latin standards.
the deluxe vinyl edition comes in gatefold sleeve with a cd-copy of the album included.

a lot of water has passed under the bridge since the release of etienne jaumet’s night music, dating from october 2009. his hypnotizing music and enchanting live performances put him directly on the map. it’s just him who is in control of his ship. he moves without complexes from his saxophone to his drum machine (his beloved tr 808) while turning knobs modulating synths, and sending his voice through an echo.la visite, etienne’s brand new album, more luminous and jazzy than its predecessor, has been composed and produced within a two month period in the versatile studio. it became a piece of introspection, mentally as well as physically. in the title track, for which flop wrote the text, we hear etienne travelling through the inside of a body, fantastic voyage style.it is always surprising to see a record taking shape. etienne would arrive at the studio without any precise idea in head, approaching his work rather intuitively. he works standing up, which brings a very different energy than being seated behind a computer polishing up every detail. he is in total mastery of his set-up, ready to capture that short-lived moment of true creation. the only use a computer has for him, is to record his experiments - afterwards being mixed by jerome caron (blackjoy).in between night music and la visite, etienne has not been lazy. not only has he done numerous collaborations (amongst others with joakim, richard pinhas, francois & the atlas mountain) and picked up djing, he has also recorded a new zombie zombie album (rituels d’un nouveau monde) with cosmic neman, as well as the soundtrack loubia hamra. and he worked with artist felicie d estienne d orves on the installation satori. at this very moment, etienne and his saxophone are still part of the tour of james holden.

after the first amc release which gained full support from a cast of music collectors and djs including dom servini, diesler, paris djs, moonboots, craig charles plus many more africa music corporation is back with another single ahead of the cd compilation release in october. twelve mabone conjures up images of dusty outdoor dancing, 100 s of pairs of feet kicking up the dusty red soil of africa in a manic outing of unbridled joy, check the rhythm and imagine a young malcolm mclaren hearing this type of music and the inspirations that it led to. the flip is a lowdown groove fuelled walk through the sleazy sound of funk. more quality sounds from the 70s and 80s south africa and re-released for todays audio pleasure

the second release of hamburg-based house and techno label audiolove recordings. a limited vinyl release (300 copies only). alrlv 002 is deeply house based ep and features three club cuts of pure, padded brilliance. sunrise is a nice bassline addicted deep house track, as it blissfully sways between softly thumping bass and smooth vocal snippets. next track 13 october is a peak time house track with powerful synths and chords playing around the strong groovin kick and hi-hats. finally, monkey troopers a track of extra rhythmic minimal techno which builds beautifully with lots of angular delicate melodies that form rather tenderly.

audiojacks gruuv label returns this october with a four-track package from french producer okain, featuring a remix from tuccillo. parisian artist samuel thalman aka okain has quite the standing in contemporary electronic music having been a prominent name as a dj and producer for the past fifteen years. playing at some of the leading nightclubs across the globe such as fabric, watergate, space ibiza, rex club and electric pickle to name but a few. thalman has also built quite the respectable back-catalogue in his time, releasing material via the likes of tsuba, bpitch, memento and cadenza, and here we see him add gruuv to his affiliations.

after a time full of search, pauses, twists and turns in the life of franco bianco, one of argentinas most eclectic producers, his new work titled *en lo profundo* will finally hit the stores in late october, hand in hand with dilek records. the remixes available on the 12 inch vinyl are delivered by amazingly talented producers like john tejada, gabriel ananda, cari lekebusch and samuel l session.

it has been over a year since the last schmorgasbord release dropped, which saw al tourettes (better known now as second storey) rubbing up against paradroid in a mix up of electro, techno and electronica styles. now the label returns with bass clef and frak, who were asked to each commit a half-finished sketch of a track to tape, exchange tapes and finish off each others tracks. bass clef has been a strong solo force on the electronic music scene since he first emerged in the wider bass music field in 2006, and has since released on idle hands, punch drunk, pan and public information as well as running his own magic + dreams imprint. swedish trio frak have been releasing since their debut album in 1987 when they were thirteen years old. the swedish trio have been active for most of that time, running borft records and releasing a huge amount of music as well as performing live. in recent years they have enjoyed more recognition with releases on kontra musik, digitalis and sex tags mania. schmorgasbord launched in 2011 with a release that saw appleblim and october collaborating for the first time. it was followed up by a release from s-max and spatial.
