r-time records releases two tracks from iceland�s sanasol, aka thor and yagya, entitled long lost thoughts - originally appearing on deep thoughts lp via hey babe! in 97. out of all of thors aliases, which includes oz artists, flow machine and thor54, sanasol, his duo project alongside yagya, is arguably the most prolific. on top of appearances on thors own renowned imprint thule records, as sanasol the pair have released on fear of flying, connaisseur superieur and alex azary and pascal f.e.o.s.s hey babe! of which the latter homed the�deep thoughts album. matt edwards r-time now releases two of the long players finest tracks, following recent revivals of timeless music by sir lord commix and fbk. long lost thoughts begins by utilising filtered chord stabs alongside a thumping bass and sustained strings before the track progresses with ethereal pads combined with resonant bells playing a top line melody. on the flip, in the sky of normality presents shuffled drums with crisp hi-hats and a strong low-end whilst delayed synths pan left and right throughout keeping things atmospheric and mesmerising.

a chance encounter in barcelona, spain brought us together to make this record happen. it�s a precious little marvel of love from kou keri kou and electric cowbell. based in barcelona, spain, the group began with the aim of making music to dance to, taking inspiration from all over the world with no fear: the music from cuba, perú, jamaica, congo and nigeria is as important for kou keri kou as the music played in europe or in the united states. los zafiros, gary numan, los destellos, radio futura, sunny ade and kiko veneno share place in their imagination and help them create open-minded pop that always looks to the future. their lyrics are sometimes open, sometimes a bit more cryptic, sometimes political and sometimes biting, but always try to communicate with the listeners while trying to make them dance. they�ve been playing together for two years, creating songs that didn�t exist before, urging the people to dance and singing about their issues, which may also be yours.

again shooting for the altitudes reached on manhigh�s first journey, henning baer�s second operation returns to the endeavour with a newly diversified mission. �operator� finds us already at the furthest edge of the atmosphere, pulsating waves of distorted electronics and distant, disembodied voices floating in the void. �pittsburgh left� is the fall back to earth, the unrelenting metallic rhythm slowly gaining momentum, momentary shifts in perspective and detail flashing by as the decent accelerates inexorably. the contemplation before leaving the ground, �aiim� slowly anticipates the ascent and examines the cosmos before lift-off. surely the launch phase �canadian suit� is both reflective and onrushing, trapped between tense, contrasting moments before being flung into the unknown. displaying both henning baer�s typically acute feeling for talent and kangding ray�s restless ear, the remix of �aiim� is a complete reinterpretation, setting grinding triplet rhythms in an industrial soundscape that suggests travels more fearful than those that surround it.

black country overlord justin k broadrick (jesu, godflesh) blesses regis� downwards fiefdom with two tracks and a tightly sprung rework by surgeon. downwards have really picked the foulest iterations of a grim set for vinyl release, inscribing the industrial-strength torque of nothing is free - which sounds like early kode 9 battered by shapednoise - at 45rpm across the front face, and branding the knuckling 808 snares and distended electro bass blow out of kontorted on its backside. surgeon�s remix of the title tune ranks among his best in many years. trace elements of the original are extruded thru modular kit and remodelled on a bouncing, swerving techno chassis recalling bmb and cub classics, but streaked with sirens and vamped by a marching brass refrain that�s just spoiling for war. the release marks a long overdue overlap between downwards� and broadrick�s interrelated industrial, noise and techno circles. broadrick was the original drummer for napalm death on their scum (1987) album, before forming the legendary godflesh, and carving out an oeuvre as one of the most feared and respected musicians to emerge from birmingham and the uk ever since.

after a break of 3 years, fear of flying resurrect their limited label to give an airing to a track that has been getting some serious attention at londons uber club fabric, having been a staple in the sets of supa resident craig richards for some months now. tiger tiger is all about the tension as the 3 minute intro builds and builds with the an arpeggiated synth, deep bass and a spanish female vocal hook before dropping, no doubt, to dance floor pandemonium as the kick is introduced. its anthemic qualities are brought to the fore later on with a string breakdown and more lashings of the ultra catchy spanish female vocal. ekkohaus provides two excellent mixes on the flip � the main remix shimmers along in fine dance floor fashion. super slick percussion and snippets of the main vocal keep pushing the tracks along, occasionally dropping into the full vocal hook to get hands in the air and smiles on faces.

we are back again with russian artist, module one. at just 22 years-old he is already had a stack of releases including an ambient album on detroit underground. * hometown* was written in the depths of russia in a place called novocherkassk, whose industrial cityscapes made a great impact on the overall sound of the album. most of the tracks were written in a few takes. most notably, the track * innermost self* is a dedication to module ones grandma who passed away a short time ago. due to a tragic sequence of events, he was unable to see her before she fell into a coma. the track is overloaded with tension and fear as well as stark anxiety. vinyl tastes better�

electric minds began as a london based promotion outfit in 2007 before subsequently launching their label under the same name which is designed to act as a platform for their guests to showcase their productions. over the years they have amassed a lauded back catalogue of releases which has featured the likes of move d, endian, radio slave and mark e. now, in the follow up to their latest release from last magpie which featured trevino on remix duties they ready their next release from hypercolour mainstay shenoda. originally hailing from cambridge, shenoda is an artist who has astutely touched on many basis across a multifaceted back catalogue. releases on fear of flying, manmakemusic and hypercolour offshoot losing suki have seen him meld garage, house and techno whilst all the while keeping his eye firmly on the needs of the dancefloor.

to accompany the release of especial s compilation mix cd, -eleccio- - offering of a snapshot of the first 9 eps on the label - a limited edition sampler ep is being released featuring 4 unreleased remixes from the label s roster to date. ever since the first white labels appeared at the end of summer 2013, emotional especial has had a busy release schedule, putting out music that are a slightly warped take on club music. mixing the influences of dub, electro, disco, proto-house, house and techno, a feeling, a sound, a vibe has appeared without any preordained plan. with the release of ees10cd - a dj meets studio compilation mix created by label mainstay and handyman, jamie paton - to mark the end of first series of the label, it was decided to included a couple of specal unreleased remixes to add a bit of new with the old in the mix. to that end this limited edition vinyl sampler was created to include the two remixes, plus the inclusion of another two gems that simply needed to see the light of day. first is the alternative -member- remix of inhalt by black merlin - a strings meets leather bar club-dub-out that takes things deeper and darker than before. this is followed by jamie delivering his own take of khidja s massive mustafa, with a warped, swamped out dub. next is another mix from cage & aviary of their pals, blancemange. brooding low-slung rerub dub anyone? finally there is a very special remix by khidja of the ganges orchestra. reissued on emotional rescue in 2013, this special remix takes the vocal mantra of the original and creates a balearic-raga tale that perfectly rounds off especial to date.
