we are back again with russian artist, module one. at just 22 years-old he is already had a stack of releases including an ambient album on detroit underground. * hometown* was written in the depths of russia in a place called novocherkassk, whose industrial cityscapes made a great impact on the overall sound of the album. most of the tracks were written in a few takes. most notably, the track * innermost self* is a dedication to module ones grandma who passed away a short time ago. due to a tragic sequence of events, he was unable to see her before she fell into a coma. the track is overloaded with tension and fear as well as stark anxiety. vinyl tastes better…
moving up and moving on is the ever on point modulations imprint, part of the formidable critical music empire. this time kasra hauls in a duo familiar to most, a duo who have been a staple part of the d&b world for the best part of the last decade, step forward bristols d*minds. >sub crate< intros delicately with dark pads and a stripped back break that prep us for the badman steppa thats about to take flight. drop dread bass is it what its all about as d*minds take us back in time to the early full cycle days with heavy kicks, reverse fx and a punching b-line that doesnt give up. dangerous without a doubt! drawing yet again from their heavy west country influence >stone river< flows nervously through a windswept cityscape with syncopated breaks, slow-rise bass and percussion fills that keep things moving in an otherwise fairly minimal slice of d*minds artillery. great to hear critical bringing out something a little different from these guys.
the amazing disco lunar module gets a rmx treament by two of the biggest talents on the swedisch icefields: lindström & prinz thomas. alden tyrell drops a cover version of his own favorite disco track from the 80s : 'other worlds robots'
this va release is a result of good relations and work with friends. it’s been a while we were preparing it and it’s the most long-awaited release of the label. 50-50 ukrainian and russian ideas, absolutely east energy. very good for the dance floors.
standards & practices is proud to present the inaugural release on its new sister imprint, double standards, from nyc-based producer jake reif (device control). his third release working under this alias, reif manages to amalgamate his dance music obsessions (ebm, bleep techno, chicago house) in a totally unique way that feels fresh and idiosyncratic, avoiding simple genre exercises or nostalgia for the sake of it. pressing on green vinyl, housed in a gatefold sleeve.
module werk continues his fine form of recent releases with another fresh sounding production for lime street music. slabs of raw drum patterns meet jittery acid and nervy cold synths resulting in four different trips for varying moods. jeremiah r appears on remix duties and turns out a real late night driving track in his usual signature style.
the french duo klash point , who have already enjoyed djs support from the likes of minimal techno scene, hot on the heels of their module records debut with their -persistence e.p.-, is back with four tracks of roughened groove , this new -mono phase e.p.- is likely to attract even more attention. side a ,-mono phase- is just the true definition of a deep techno mood! and -stockholm- rocks around an hypnotic rolling groove that as it perpetually twists and turns. side b ,-kologne- push up you higher with its straight atmospheric synth ... and with textures and tones nodding to both berlin and detroit, once again there s a strong sense of timelessness and versatility to play -dolby-.
classic yet fresh, part of the pantheon but exploring new forms: module werk continues where last year’s interdimensional traveler ep left off with a new stand-out four-tracker on portuguese label helena.
after few releases featuring sübaka with remixes by steve bicknel (uk) and sean deason (usa), module records maked a ten years break. so we are very proud to introduce klash point guys who produced this persistence ep for this labels comeback.they are two french producers who combine fiery energy and the wisdom of experience. like a family affair! all in all, name check these lads out for more future aural excursions. on this 12inch, this is minimal electronic techno at its best, deep and dubby with a solid straight groove. then, we are sure that new ep will not disappointed you, without a doubt!
nice price deal !!! metrobox teams up with max cue.. klangmodule with konsonanz results in a beautifull detroit-esque track with visible roots of belgian soil. the fcl (san soda and red d) remix is the other living proof that detroit used to exchange artists back in the 90s. its back!
we are very happy to start this new edition of deeply rooted releases with insolates mood module ep, produced by the very talented miss sunshine. the ep goes through different moods and feelings: epic is a straight up techno journey, werk is a great rythm track that keeps building all the way through, parch is a dark and heavy uncompromising track, the record ends with tuga a deeper and more mysterious jam, we hope youll like it as much as we do!
after 2012s la fin de lespèce, french hip hop producer klub des loosers returns with last days, his first instrumental album (springtales released in 2010 was more a collection of beats produced along the years).
includes free download code.
left ear are re-introducing another ten lost tracks from nicholas georgieff and virgil work, st louis basement electronics duo workdub. the release spans material from 1989-95 and includes recordings from their sole lp and both cassette albums. workdubs music hardly fits into a vacuum and some might even say it’s otherworldly. tracks like reach for the stars and lunar module reflect dreams of space-age exploration, all the while their investigation into drum machines, synthesizers, samples matched with their organic live instrumentation work to create a unique atmospheric dubbed out sound.
them records welcomes back hiroaki iizuka for the its fifth outing. having supplied the the run as the labels first record, here iizuka doubles its play time and track listing length in his stunning voodoo ep. the extra time offered allows iizuka to flex more of his versatile style. them as a label sets out to eschew a techno norm largely made up of a traditional 4 x 4 sound. having come from a london background, the curating of the label gives a nod to the rave sounds of the capital - especially d&b, garage, breakbeat hardcore and grime. that is to say of course along with its characteristic aesthetic of horror and the gothic.
in iizuka them found a common ground: based in hokkaido, japan, iizuka does not share the same london influences, yet shares their base values and thrust. common themes of his sound involve broken and syncopated beats, and a rave energy. this is what lead him to being the first and prime them stable artist. voodoo ep showcases this breadth of iizuka’s style, from tracks that could easily fit into any grime set, such as primitive acid, to the more melodic tones of floating point, in which hiroaki guides them into previously untrodden ground for the imprint.
fierce banging tracks on the a-side of this multivalence volume 1, and two winning acidic techno tunes with a bit of an early detroit, belgium rave vibe on the flip side. strong release on kevin mchugh (ambivalent/la-4a) new series of various artist ep s on his valence imprint.played by dvs1, josh wink, dj deep, ben klock, norman nodge, rolando, scuba aos
evolving from the depths of the snare mix series, snare tapes is the logical advancement of the series’ contributions so far, bringing with it four cuts of fresh productions, on wax, for the first of what is to be a number of planned releases.
cologne based artist adryiano has finally threaded into label managing waters. ever since the emerge of his multi functional platform cestraw back in 2011 adryiano has been twisting and thinking on when to launch the label side of things. after the humble success of his latest *down south* effort on soul notes it felt like the right time.
cr/001 turned out to be an emotive dance floor record that touches several different modes within the spectrum of underground dance music. from the straight forward 303-anthem *break module* to the uplifting yet deep, chicago-ish tones of *path of yours* - adryianos *default ep* is set to unfold just in time for the cold, dark days before christmas.
exploration is back with 3 techno bangers!
* planetary mosaic* comes with slow building synths and a majestic piano, constructed around a heavy stomping bassdrum.
* simplexity* is a stripped down track with spaced out bleeps and a subtle snare staccato attack.
* light module* projects a dystopian environment with jacking synth structures, robot voices and a dramatic atmosphere.
a lot of water has passed under the bridge since the release of etienne jaumet’s night music, dating from october 2009. his hypnotizing music and enchanting live performances put him directly on the map. it’s just him who is in control of his ship. he moves without complexes from his saxophone to his drum machine (his beloved tr 808) while turning knobs modulating synths, and sending his voice through an echo.la visite, etienne’s brand new album, more luminous and jazzy than its predecessor, has been composed and produced within a two month period in the versatile studio. it became a piece of introspection, mentally as well as physically. in the title track, for which flop wrote the text, we hear etienne travelling through the inside of a body, fantastic voyage style.it is always surprising to see a record taking shape. etienne would arrive at the studio without any precise idea in head, approaching his work rather intuitively. he works standing up, which brings a very different energy than being seated behind a computer polishing up every detail. he is in total mastery of his set-up, ready to capture that short-lived moment of true creation. the only use a computer has for him, is to record his experiments - afterwards being mixed by jerome caron (blackjoy).in between night music and la visite, etienne has not been lazy. not only has he done numerous collaborations (amongst others with joakim, richard pinhas, francois & the atlas mountain) and picked up djing, he has also recorded a new zombie zombie album (rituels d’un nouveau monde) with cosmic neman, as well as the soundtrack loubia hamra. and he worked with artist felicie d estienne d orves on the installation satori. at this very moment, etienne and his saxophone are still part of the tour of james holden.
karton returns with their second various artists vinyl release! a 300 copy release, 180 gram vinyl only , tracks by mike trend, archie hamilton & patrice meiner, vid & cumsecade and ferro! four groove infected tracks perfect for either opening, peak time, or closing sets.

this is a 1 off collaborative ep between sonic wizard my panda shall fly and analogue disciple benjamin jackson. mpsf has been on the scene a while, with releases on dam mantle’s growing records & wichita. benjamin jackson is a relative newcomer, having only self-released last year through his own label, ‘thanqu’. the pair recorded the bulk of the ep collaboratively without ever having met. the ep is rounded off by remixes from -no pain in pop’s critically aclaimed patten -r & s’s hyped new signings cloud boat -’my panda shall fly’s material is groundbreaking’
saigon recordings reaches release number 3, following on from the successful orphan101 debut and recent duffstep single. saigon003 signals the return to action by scottish based producer gravious who originally made a name for himself in the early years of now legendary label hotflush recordings. junction city ep features three tracks of shiny, happy future funk with a distinct space-theme.
the ep kicks off with the title track >we rock non-stop<. tight kick drums layered with pitched 808 subs set the basis of the track. chopped up machine and voice samples are then layered with smooth pads and delays to complete the track. the second track of the ep >solvent abuse< sees sync 24 sticking to his dark roots. distorted vocals, haunting pads, trippy sequences and dirty bass combined with rolling beats and subs!
the reverse side of the 12 inch is slightly deeper, techy affair. >chosen module< is a spacious wash of delays and pads mixed with robotic bass and crisp round beats. the final track >marios mushroom< carries on the spaced out trippy theme of the side with more spooky pads, bubbly bass lines and hypnotic rhythms.
