ever since carl falk got involved with electronic music due to the rich techno culture of sweden, he turned out to be an unstoppable pool of creativity. tough beats are mixed with funky elements and basically any percussion from around the world. the mixture of elements creates firm tracks aimed at the dj and dancefloor. here carl takes you on a very pleasant trip to brazil.

the fourth release on this southern france based label is presented in a collaboration with the japanese production team orienta rhythm. their version is a funked up affair on a classic tip that with a jazzy edge that is spreading an uplifting feeling and features a soulful female vocal. mix2inside rework the track into a laidback piano driven affair, while blind sensation give it an electro reworking perfect for the main rooms. lastly there is fabrice protec makeover that adds a retro disco vibe to the track.

poolside began as a recording project in a converted los angeles backyard pool house in early 2011, producing sunny tracks of subaquatic indie dance music in this makeshift recording studio. surfacing first in the form of a youtube video for the catchy track Òdo you believe?Ó poolside were soon gaining local and national attention, with djs like james murphy of lcd soundsystem, techno legend derrick may, and disco don todd terje spinning these tracks at events and a growing online following. throughout 2011 poolside continued making waves with a sound called Òdaytime discoÓ through tracks like their cover of neil youngÕs Òharvest moonÓ and original tunes. in 2012 poolside worked on a remix for longtime disco punks the rapture and held fans over with a new single and video for a song called Òslow downÓ as they prepared to release their debut album. that album, pacific standard time, was self-released in july of 2012. after the albumÕs release, remixes for artists like matthew dear, little dragon and foolÕs gold soon followed, as well as rehearsing and touring with a live band and doing dj sets around the world. as thoughts turned to a second album, poolside went on ice for a year to regroup, beginning to work in earnest on another album in the fall of 2016. while still revolving around the sunny, laid-back disco sound of pst, these sessions yielded the additions of up-tempo dance songs and more guitars, and generally more fleshed-out arrangements. poolside surprise released their second album heat in 2017. poolside have over 1.5 million monthly listeners on spotify and have fans all over the world. they are currently on tour as a live band.

damon wild and david sumner (aka functions) relationship dates back to 1991 at lord michaels future shock, limelight, new york city when damon was running experimental records via northcott productions. at the time, he first saw something in dave and added him to brand x, a record pool run by moneypenny. but their bond is based around a period 5 years later when dave had an apartment above rogue music at 251 west 30th street in midtown, manhattan. it was during this time damon developed him as a synewave artist and released his first ep as function in the fall of 1996 catalog number sw-24. falling in and out of touch over the years, across continents, the two have somehow remained on the same cosmic path. so itÕs not a coincidence that now damon has turned to dave to release his first album in 13 years, during the time he is reissuing that first synewave ep on recompiled i/ii & ii/ii (a-ton lp02/03). this is where those paths cross again. 21 years later, this fall, dave will release cosmic path on infrastructure. the cosmic connection.
