oh boy.... mw are really spoiling us with the crazy electronics, following on from the recent philippe laurent release, this time its a japanese pioneer whos music has been lovingly restored, and just in time, by all accounts (read below). another classic on minimal wave, delivered on transparent vinyl.

minimal wave is proud to present a full length lp by french mastermind philippe laurent. the lp is entitled hot-bip, a pseudonym laurent used throughout the 80s and 90s and also the title of his 1983 cassette on fraction studio. hot-bip features tracks recorded between 1979-1988, most of which have either remained unreleased or only previously appeared on scarce 80s experimental cassette compilations. laurents music can be described as spacey synthpop, containing much depth and range. it is edgy, political and pushes the limits, transforming his sound beyond one specific genre. hints of classical influences as well as electro influences can be heard. hot-bip showcases laurent’s best musical output from the 80s and includes some very avant-garde pieces from as early as 1979. a limited edition of 999 hand-numbered copies, this lp is pressed on 180 gram, translucent red vinyl and housed in a black and white matte printed heavyweight sleeve.

the twenty-seventh release on minimal wave is autumns >synthesize< lp, selections from the bands best material. autumn was the legendary project of peter bonne and geert coppens, two belgian teenagers who started experimenting with the potentials of analog synthesizers during the late 70s and formed a band together soon after in 1980, quickly becoming one of the most truly visionary groups to emerge from the synth scene in europe. a hand-numbered, limited edition pressing on 180 gram clear green vinyl housed in a heavy printed gloss jacket.

we are happy to have a follow up of m.in on trapez ltd in collaboration with his fellow mate jonas fahz. the duo has released together already under their pseudonym of mucky pups on the trapez ltd 100 anniversary compilation in may. their a-side welcome to my house features again a jack track, produced and written this time by a whole team including: m.in, jonas fahz, peter eilmers and featuring nick maurer on vocals. bringing together old school and new school this was also the idea with m.in s debut a-side track teach me house . welcome to my house instead has more of a live jammed attitude to it... in this respect it is meaner, rougher and tougher as the predecessor! the alienated and twisted voice of nick maurer adds a psychedelic feeling that keeps you making funny faces to yourself . delgardo has been a long time favourite of m.in and jonas, it is an approved dance floor track, and indeed a slow moving... but funky rocker. fuelled by vocal snippets and fx sounds... the beat goes non stop beat non stop ! elephant blues is the favourite track of m.in and a bit of a mad and deadpan track. fitting very well to the actual chart breaking tunes that spread like a virus in the underground scene, this could be the most modern of the three tracks. equipped with a strong drive, whipping its percussion line into oblivion it is a sexy track. the original 3 tracks are Êsupported by alex piccini with a cool post detroit remix of welcome to my house and well as heartik who has speeded up elephant blues turning it into a cool techno- rush of a track.

for his latest musical offering kupper offers up two versions of the superb >bloom< a deep and melodic slice of underground house. warm filtered keys, rich bass, percussive riffs and old school drums come together to create a compelling piece of house with a laid back vibe on the original. the >jazz mix< follows the lines of the original version with the addition of some perfectly placed jazz guitar parts to lend a further musical note. wave music is well known for its eclectic musical output, ranging from tough techno, to quality electronica and underground house. with this latest release with eric kupper they have proved once again that whatever they do put out, its always of the highest quality.

time wave zero is the brand new concepot by christian wunsch. he remixes the timeless borovicka track from regis for the a-side and does it in style. pounding techno with a twist. for the flip christian invites funckarma and cane to do the work on his track called cohoba. while the first remix is straight up dub style, the second is made for the dancefloor.

minimal wave: both a genre of underground diy electronic music from north america and europe in the late 1970s and 80s, and the name of the label devoted to unearthing these recordings. the minimal wave tapes is the first official anthology of minimal wave music from this label. most of the songs were originally released on limited edition cassettes or vinyl by the artists themselves, and only a handful of people knew about them. they ve been remastered from their analog source tapes and compiled here by minimal waves veronica vasicka and stones throws peanut butter wolf.

alex worked together with artists like john aquaviva and released on labels like blue fin, idj, freuqenza or ministry of sound to name just a few. his mate nihil is also well known for his outstanding releases. both came together for this ep and give you 2 huge strong detroit influenced techno / tech house club tracks. this release has amazing energy and will come as strong limited 12 inch on the mysterious 3rd wave black edition. just listen!
