fifth release on the acclaimed imprint from those lovely people over at the acclaimed sleazybeats blog. the dust just doesnt seem to settle at team sleazy who are set to unleash their fifth dish of mid-tempo filth. sbr005 should likely round out what has undoubtedly been more than a successful year for the sleazy beats crew. as hard as it might seem to upstage their recent sampler, this release by berliner daniel solar (of no more hits and dikso fame) is another trio of totally on point sleazy business which showcases daniels stellar skills. things start off with midfidelity funk, a snappy romp through steady synth and disco string territory. this little number delivers a perfectly spell-binding groove with nicely placed rhodes stabs, crisp tambourines and haunting vocal at the breaks. on the flip, twinkle love snaps out a sweet melange of piano, guitar/bass riff and morphing vocals that combine to give a lively mood and open atmospherics. finally, rounding up the ep is la fleur, a wonky yet punchy cut thats ripe with staunch drum sounds and strings amidst loopy vocal snippets for good measure. all three tracks ride a 110ish bpm groove that is likely to ring bells for those who have been following and digging the sleazy sound so far. the last few releases all sold out in a matter of weeks, so dont sleep on this. you know the drill by now: limited release, no repress.

first on decks.de!!! >blast corps< opens the ep with a surge of delayed baseline. crispy static rises from below and echoes swoop and simmer beneath the full blooded base. it builds insistently, the 4/4 structure is infused with far off blips and the dusty sizzles of lowpitched white noise. on dark star warm dub keeps the sound organic. it’s elemental, the baseline seems enormous enough to have a gravity of its very own and the other elements pull together around its weight. it teases, the breathy elements twitch, fidget, become fully formed but refuse to drop. frank martiniq refuses the obvious, and opts for the discerning. this is the stuff of intrigue, as is the percussive opening to b2 >lovelane<. here a rattling, clattering sequence breaks out into a euphoric, syncopated structure. its dark, playful and danceable techno.

hive audio is here – a brand new label, run by the makers of the infamous hive club, located in the the industrial quarter of zurich. the imprint was founded by samuel gmur and adrian wöllhaf, better known as animal trainer with some great releasing on oliver koletzkis stil vor talent, amongst others. zurich is not only party capital of beautiful switzerland, it is more and more becoming a habitat for talented and creative music producers and djs, who will now get a new international platform. releases will be held mainly by residents of the hive club itself – benja will be given the honour to start off with his track paradose. >paradose< impresses with a funky percussion loop, ultra-brief chords and scantily applied vocal snippets. benja keeps it dust-dry, leaving out every kind of frippery and lifting the track to a real &#64258,,oor-&#64257,,ller without any razzmatazz needed. on the &#64258,,ip we have a remix by christian burkhardt, who needs no further introduction. he turns the number into a real techno loop monster, which will catch you within a few beats, and then wont let loose again. hypnotic and twinkle-toed at the same time, his remix easily will suit any after hour or peaktime set to the same degree. christian burkhardt himself is also one of our favourite guests in the club. this is why, of course, we are double happy to welcome a hive club resident on our hive audio 001.

after being influenced by mix-tapes of artists such as richie hawtin, dustin began writing music purely for fun. shortly after, dustin met future-partner ian lehman, who was established in the mid-west rave scene. ian explained to him that music similar to his was played at parties called raves. ian invited him to one of his shows and dustin took his offer to see what he was talking about. after being exposed to just one party, dustin knew this was his future. dustin started doing a live pa at various local parties and quickly became a favorite. after a year, dustin stepped up to the decks and won just as much respect as he did with his productions. in early 2001, dustin and ian both agreed to take things to the next level. they put a halt on bookings and concentrated on the studio. a year later their work had emerged onto vinyl and all over the internet, creating a serious buzz. abiotic was born, and the duo formed the attack people. a few words can easily describe dustin zahnÆs style: moody, tribal, dark, and hypnotic. since dustin co-founded abiotic recordings with ian lehman in 2001, heÆs finished projects for labels such as livewire records (detroit), analytic trail (italy) and invasion (belgium). his tracks have been received support from techno producers such as redhead, adam beyer, danilo vigorito, tim xavier, ben sims, chris liebing, dave clarke, umek

huge monster-tunes!! supported by steve lawyer, stephan hinz, dubfire, matthias schaffhäuser, stephan bodzin, f.e.x., dubnitzky, someone else, eyerer and many more. philogresz aka ilker soylu was born in istanbul, that huge metropolis of turkey in the early 80’s. in the summer of 2002 he moved to dordrecht / the netherlands and started his education of music production at art academy of utrecht (hku) and later stage sae (school of sound engineering). soon after that he set up his own company 078 productions. with 078 productions, he set up an organization team with an aim to create a new dimension into southern holland’s and yet into the dutch electronic music scene. the past 2 years he has been focusing on his own productions and so far has released musical pieces on record labels such as: black hole records (as nefesz), manual, teamrecords, stolen moments and magnitude recordings.

david august has waited quite a long time, cancelling all gigs for a year to fulfill himself in his musical yearnings in a very personal album. it is an intimate production, realising his fanatic dedication, of which love in all its facettes is the main motive. the listener will find his own emotional journey in it, starting with help me through, a journey leading to david augusts world and soul.
