i dont think i know, or heard of, anyone who share the same obsession in searching obscure disco records like kool dj dust (real name daniel savio). call him at any given time and he is in some flee market or second hand shop on the look-out for records. he even got an apartment just for his collection.
we talked about the idea of re-releasing >un-googable< music, old stuff that is not only very hard to find, but also so good that re-issueing it is an actual cultural necessity. dust tossed around with a few ideas and finally these three songs made the cut. we are very happy with them!

>les patates<, the fresh new rrygular release by tassilo, one half of pan-pot, is not an homage to french agriculture but a serious techno smasher with high club potential. at first, theres just a nice party atmosphere and … then this rough beat drops in! the small potatoe >petite patate< surprises by adding rudimental elements like the hihat and snare drum always a little late. but you have the feeling you havent missed something yet. this number just sneaks from behind and lulls you in with billowing pads until you sense the final rave sound as a self-evident consequence of it all. the message by g-tech right before the drop proves right - there is not a lack of vibration here! its all about the mixture … and in this case its just felicitous: male choir, clanking cymbals and finally the riff that this track subsists on. tassilo knows how to send the short melody-figure through the different stages of sound design, even though it might have been lively enough without it. this gives the big potatoe >grosse patate< a level of dynamic, that most contemporary techno releases just dont provide.

fifth release on the acclaimed imprint from those lovely people over at the acclaimed sleazybeats blog. the dust just doesnt seem to settle at team sleazy who are set to unleash their fifth dish of mid-tempo filth. sbr005 should likely round out what has undoubtedly been more than a successful year for the sleazy beats crew. as hard as it might seem to upstage their recent sampler, this release by berliner daniel solar (of no more hits and dikso fame) is another trio of totally on point sleazy business which showcases daniels stellar skills. things start off with midfidelity funk, a snappy romp through steady synth and disco string territory. this little number delivers a perfectly spell-binding groove with nicely placed rhodes stabs, crisp tambourines and haunting vocal at the breaks. on the flip, twinkle love snaps out a sweet melange of piano, guitar/bass riff and morphing vocals that combine to give a lively mood and open atmospherics. finally, rounding up the ep is la fleur, a wonky yet punchy cut thats ripe with staunch drum sounds and strings amidst loopy vocal snippets for good measure. all three tracks ride a 110ish bpm groove that is likely to ring bells for those who have been following and digging the sleazy sound so far. the last few releases all sold out in a matter of weeks, so dont sleep on this. you know the drill by now: limited release, no repress.
thomas muller has most definitely found his sound. following two splendid remixes for his bpitch label-mates cormac and telefon tel aviv, he finally indulges us with a complete 12 inch from his own sound lab. a masterpiece without a doubt.

the new kill a beat is coming straight from berlin! it s a split ep by the friends alex sander and lars wickinger. alex sander is well known by his label killabeat and last release on session deluxe with rekardo rivalo. he was living some years in sao paulo. there he worked as booking agent for intergroove. this time gave him a lot of influences for his music. his style is a hot mix of minimal electro and techhouse. now alex presents 1 track (nuit) for kill a beat. nuit is a very warm and soulful funky tech-house tune. you can really feel the spirit of south america in this track. nuit is rollin very percussive and groovy with some vocal snippets and typical south american folk elements. the second one is made by lars wickinger. after his releases on tanzbar and kachelfunk, he finally is back with funky buthole on kill a beat ! on the b-side is an amazing remix by andy kohlmann (lordag / extrasmart). his style is a little bit deeper and more minimalistic. this track is perfect for the current techhouse sound all around the world. the whole ep is definitely hot, and will bring the summer back to your hearts, during the cold fall months.

rino cerrones legendary rilis series returns this summer with a blistering package which features danilo vigorito, uto karem and cerrone himself. cerrone is arguably the most influential character in italys techno scene having carefully nurtured countless artists while juggling labels, a prolific production diary and countless dj gigs. his output always commands respect and this release is no different. kicking of with cerrones 2010 re-edit of rilis 05a1, a percussive beast of a cut which combines rolling funk bass and classic stabs, rilis remix vol 6 is a sure bet for house and techno djs alike. add dubfire, hawtin and villalobos favorite uto karem and the excitement only builds. here, the hugely talented producer delivers a low slung, heavy, trippy and heads-down version of cerrones fracture which stands out as some of his finest work yet. finally, neapolitan veteran danilo vigorito steps up to the plate and delivers a deep and devasting remix of burntit. comprising some fantastic production tweaks and edits alongside rhythmic percussion and the all important rolling bottom end, this is vigorito at his best. this is yet another worthy addition to the >rilis< concept - essential stuff

professional dj headphone... the one-piece tma-1 headband consists of a strong, durable and flexible nylon material, which provides full flexibility when wearing and positioning the headphones during djing. the two different cushions can be changed easily with the click release function, so the headphones fit all situations – from a noisy club environment to just being on the road. the speaker is protected by the cushion plate with integrated filter and provides the richest sound that is available today along with the most durable driver technology. finally, there is a 3mm cotton fiber filter for isolation and the headphone cup out of a resistant abs material to protect the fragile parts. the 1.7 meter cable has a mini jack connection in both ends as well as a reinforced plug with a 1/8 adapter option. it has a 0.4 meter coil on the wire, which gives extra length and flexibility at the turntable.
the name tma-1 (tycho magnetic anomaly-1) is taken from arthur c. clarke s science fiction novel 2001: a space odyssey and refers to a black monolith, which is extremely long-lived and reliable – just as the tma-1.

second of 3 volumes taken from the incredibly rare japan only cd release inner films 70 from 2009. the sketch is simple, modern dance artists take on seminal film scores from the 70s and give them a twist. kicking of with maurice fultons eerie and quite frankly disturbed version of jaws (main title), next shigeru tanabu takes on star wars! on the b side brisha steers ninth symphony… (from clockwork orange) into deep techno territory, while finally godfather (love film) gets a deep paddy house overhaul by yukihiro fukutomi (mule musiq).
