stryker matthews is a new york city based producer and dj by way of northern california by way of southern california. drawing influences from most of the continents with people living on them, he works to create rhythmically focused music that moves hips and spills drinks. stryker grew up in san juan capistrano, ca playing guitar and drums in a string of bands who mastered the fine art of garage-based rocking before moving to the bay area and finding an interest in club music as a new class of producers with fresh takes on dance production began to flood the world wide web. upon completing his first set of original tracks, he caught the ear of dubstep pioneer, skream, who signed the tunes to his imprint, disfigured dubz.
dbridge is far from being a new name on anyones lips, having released music on countless labels and his own exit records over the last 16 years he has built a name for himself as being a true innovator within the electronic music scene, being versatile and unpredictable he never fails to disappoint.here we have two analogue masterpieces that show how diverse a tempo can be. exploring his beloved 170bpm he takes us through two emotional tracks of complex chord sequences and lush string arrangements tinted with his trademark melancholic signature. this is a buy on site release for his current fan base that have been patiently waiting, but also an ear opener for music lovers worldwide that have turned off to the formulaic and predictable mutation of d&b that has been dominating press and airwaves.

out of an 8.8 earthquake, riots and severe illness comes one of the most joyful records of the year. brian gibbs aka echo park has had a colourful life to say the least, living and making music in l.a., tokyo, madrid, mexico city and now santiago, chile where he lives with his young family. previously a producer of dark hip hop and dub, a series of disasters made him confront mortality and decide it was time to make the music that is closest to his heart: luscious, sunshine-infused electro-funk full of laid back attitude and real songs. skream has always been a lover of disco, boogie and electro – as anyone who has heard one of his specialist sets or his slick n sleazy remix of chromeo will know. it took just one hearing of brians first echo park tracks via a mutual friend to snap them up for disfigured dubz. in fact he has chosen echo park for the first full album on the label… but first comes this killer single, a shmoooove bit of vocoder funk that sets the tone for echo parks twin obsessions with technology and romance. bundled with it are a gutbusting ravemonster of a rework by 12th planet & flinch that somehow still keeps the soul of the track intact, and jon convex taking it way underground with a deeper-than-deep analogue techno version. there is something for everyone here and this is just the beginning.
next for disfigured dubz is the debut single from leeds based producer youandewan the story goes that one day whilst relaxing by the pool in ibiza, ewans manager played some of his demos on the soundsystem with skream in company and he was gripped, two tracks were signed to disfigured dubz and here they are. a: youandme (on my mind) harks back to the days when 2 step garage ruled the london airwaves and gives a nostalgic look back to the pre-dubstep revolution. a crackling warm rhodes loop and atmospheric field recordings warm the cones whilst vocal snippets creep in and float amongst the classic 2 step beats. tension builds, temperatures rise and the bass blows like a cool breeze on a summers afternoon. aa: zeal is the perfect complement to the a-side. again with the winning combo of rhodes piano, soulful vocals, snapping 2 step beats and glittering effects that bring the feel good factor to a maximum. this one just oozes sunshine.
disfigured dubz kick off the new year with this single by bristolian producer phaeleh, hot off the back of his debut album >fallen light<. with this offering, he sticks very much to his trademark style. an intricate and ever progressing drum track provides the spine for the thought provoking cloudy atmospheres, glittering melodies and moody chords. he somehow manages to catch a similar vibe to early hardcore and acid house with its feeling of optimism and a new found freedom.
skreams label rounds of 2010 with a classic release. its not often a gem like this comes along and its no surprise that fellow production collaborator skream picked it up for his disfigured dubz imprint. having been a regular floor filler over the past year within the emerging techno x dubstep scene, >voyeur< has been in high demand and finally sees the light of day to many peoples delight. it was one of instra:mentals first dabbles with the 4/4 structure but has the maturity and qualities of a rediscovered 90s classic.
after a series of life-changing experiences abroad, kito returned home to australia in 2008 and began to focus on cultivating the ideas which had been germinated through her travels into her own unique sound. the amalgamation of these efforts eventually gave rise to her seminal work what if, which along with cold on the bside was immediately recognized and released by skream, one of dubsteps figureheads, on his label disfigured dubz in 2009. into 2010 and kito has continued the progression of her style and produced a four-track for disfigured dubz featuring the hugely popular lfo with vocals by reija lee, along with on the floor, dont wanna lose you and her remix of vaccine?s fever which are characterized by a pop-infused, fresh and precisely clean production style, kitos music has received support globally from a number of leading djs including skream, benga, diplo, d-bridge, intra:mental, joker, jakes, digital mystikz and many more. with an already large and ever-growing fan base and encouraging articles and reviews from publications such as nme & knowledge, it is clear big things are in store for this young artist.
skream remixes silkies >cyber dub< on the flip, a massively popular tune also originally released on dd which was always destined for a remix and its given the skream treatment bigtime, harsh and heavy wobbler for all the true skream fans. act quickly you know this wont last long....

skreams label returns with two proper eyes down rollers. lates saw, sine, square is dub deepness, all halting beats and shimmering melodies. (it sounds like pantha du prince gone dubstep.) the buzz over this record has been mounting up over recent months, but here it is....
dropping two records in one week 005 spoils us with a debut release from kito. skreams label once again bringing the deep atmospheric shizzle. kitos what if has been getting caned by the likes of loefah & digital mystikz.
