european manufacturing, acidic techno jams

hvnxx is one of the most special projects weve taken part in as a label. some months ago the xx and young turks asked our artists to remix tracks from coexist. it was a big honour and also a big responsi- bility, specially considering that the xx is one of our favourite bands. the outcome of such challenge is a four-track ep that showcases the sound of both well-established members of the hivern family, such as marc pinol and new jackson, and upcoming talents such as round and mistakes are ok. all four remixes are pretty different among them, but they all manage to maintain the distinctive spirit of the original songs in their own way. marc pinol takes fiction to the good ol days of chicago house, laying the original vocals on top of analog drum-machines and a rubbery bassline to that suggest an imaginary collaboration between adonis and oliver sim. the elusive mistakes are ok maintains the tropical vibe of reunion but provides a warped atmosphere combining breezy chimes with static haze and a propulsive bass that boosts the song towards the second part of the remix. hiverns latest signee round transforms the fragility of missing into a soothing house cut through uplifting organ chords and vigorous rhythms fulfilling dancefloor demands without loosing its melancholic character. finally, new jackson proves once again his knack with nocturnal ambiences flipping swept away into a sensuous deep-house gem guided by an absorbing piano and a slow but steady groove. the release comes in an embossed sleeve with artwork designed by arnau pi. hvnxx is a co-release with young turks.

rare strictly groove #01 is the first chap. of a series of 12 inches which include the best unreleased tracks from artists already in the labels roster and very close friends. this v/a open with *waltz to share* by avenir, a quite old track from the very superb catalogue of our favorite producer from palermo. modern and fresh deep house, enriched by the beautiful voice of clara and some precise arrangements of space sounds and more vocals. also we find two tracks by salvatore stallone, one of the artist is influencing more at this time, with his unique and amazing jazzy touch and incredible eclectism. *etes* and *brian off* are both very concrete underground pearls, inspired by masterpieces of the past. but the main theme of this release is dedicated to *the king* by daughters & sons. some expert house rhythms and groove with his name looped in an involving memory.

after whispering the name >the jaydes< for a few months, the dame-music crew is proud to finally reveal their first single >step on light< on a vinyl only release. the jaydes are a collaboration between two friends and studio partners bloody mary and attan. their first remix of anaxander >7 ways< on the last dame-music release was a good introduction to their album, that >step on light< is a hint on what is forthcoming. the album, due in february 2014 will include nine tracks and some serious featuring artists. >step on light< rises from its very strong 80s influences to the 21st century with class and power. the swinging drums and the percussive bass mark the tone and lead the groove all the way till the end.

2013 keeps getting busier at the skudge headquarters as we re now proud to introduce mrsks latest project, a journey beyond techno that almost takes a shamanistic turn. in his new smell the flesh guise, the man delivers six cuts of eerie beats, challenging his western esthetics with a nonetheless complex yet primal approach.

the title track for schallbox015 is delivered by none other than label boss steve cole himself. with a driving groove, playfully set chords and vocals by her majestys sound (aka alexander friedrich), the original version asks every dancer for the *last dance*. or then, is this just the beginning the cast of remixers, consisting of rené bourgeois & dan caster, as well as the glitz, lines up in perfect sequence and will again set every dance floor on fire!

the danse club label is fast becoming an essential deep house outlet thanks to a solid stream of originals and remixes from artists old and new alike including cherie lee, the burrell brothers and label bosses brodanse. here, said bosses team up with vocalist cari golden and resurgent beatsmiths groove armada for a huge new track that has already been road tested in ibiza and has drawn all the right reactions.

limited reissue of this ultra-rare gem from 1978 originally released on tiny nyc private press label wabine productions. both tracks on the 12 inch are absolute killers and hugely in-demand with djs and collectors alike. although *sail on* is the acknowledged biggie, a highly sought-after jazzy soul classic melding super-cool low-slung grinding island funk with understated steel pans and a dreamy female chorus, dont overlook side as wonderful *the martians visit* - a tight slab of sun-drenched space-disco with a solid up-tempo caribbean groove, great strings and squelching bass.

in 2011 when mad mats and tooli went to sonar festival in barcelona they met ludovic llorca aka art of tones outside a club. little did they know back then that two years later on they would release a 12 inch together. the same thing ep opens with the title track and kicks pretty damn sweet with its strong vocal, the guitar, bass and rhodes jamming on top of a tight groove, there is also a dub version included on the b-side. last but not least, the great sgatmi is a jazzy and bumpy house take with lots of samples perfectly balanced. all in all, classic art of tones material and the work of a producer firing on all cylinders.

after the recent success of their expansive debut full length on idle hands and while they bask in the glory of their recently well received resident advisor podcast, jacob hodge and matt lambert push on with a new ep on bristols futureboogie. to date outboxx have fomented their own ebullient house style that is imbued with a keen sense of uplifting melody, plenty of analogue dust and some heavyweight bass, largely on bristol based labels, and this new ep sees them continue in that fine form.

sam walton is a 22 year old producer from manchester who came to hyperdub after feeding them demo tracks, and started off in 2011 with the *walton ep*, the first of three eps for the label. since then he has honed and developed his music into *beyond*, finding a really fresh and subtle intersection between music that doesnt seem to naturally fit together, old eski grime, funky and detroit house and techno but with smudged edges and a colourful industrial sound palette that gives a real richness to his productions.
