aptly titled the noughties, the latest 12 inch from beats in space records features three tracks recorded between 2005 and 2009 courtesy of tokyos humbly dynamic gonno. a dynamic producer who is clearly not afraid to nest until crucial hatch time, gonno flies the coop with a wingspan throwing psychedelic colour at a sunburst sky. blending a spectrum of musical influences and personal touch points about the people (and animals) he has encountered and the implicit joy / sorrow in that exchange, gonnos productions blur the lines between art and life experience.

lil jabba isnt like the rest of them. while they are busy joining the dots between house and techno or whatever is safe right now, he is throwing paint all over the page. he is not american, but he is affiliated with chicagos teklife crew (dj spinn, dj rashad, etc.) and divides his time between baltimore and brooklyn, exhibiting his visual art, riding around with his bike gang and making some of the most hypnotic juke and footwork you will ever hear. local action have been figuring out a release with him for over a year - eventually an ep wasnt enough, and they persuaded him to make it a full-length album, scales. some of scales has already seen the light of day through youtube or limited cassette releases, some of it is unheard. some tracks sound cleaner than others, that is because they are newer. that is how these things work. what is consistent throughout scales is the quality: across 12 tracks, jabba flips, twists and inverts the footwork template with endless layers of samples, gurgled vocal tags, jazz licks and whatever else he feels like. these arent trax, they are tapestries.

albion got his first bookings in high school on his friends parties and played his first gig in a club in the early nineties. ten years later he rediscovered the sound of his childhood, disco. since then he has been throwing parties and playing in clubs, digging deep for records and obsessing about long forgotten music. in 2006 albion started making the astronomix and mixtura mixes for c-b-s which made him gain his reputation as a mixer of the most far out disco this side of the moon. hes now part of the heavy outfit which is ambassadors reception

writing tracks for kanzleramt is not the only task, what keeps gideon hommes busy. he runs his own label lessismore recordings and is also having a 12inch single out on sino soon this year. the young talent is also throwing the famous anticlub-parties in his hometown eindhoven and all over the netherlands. but therewith not enough: gideon signed up for another 12inch, followed by a full length album (2xlp/cd) in the second half of 2008 on kanzleramt.
