slow glass is not only the debut release by le frère it is also a very personal diary of the last two years of his life. all four tracks are based on recordings, samples and ideas he collected while travelling the world. with the concept of slow glass in mind le frere tried to catch moments of his life without stripping them of their dynamic and evanescence. the ep starts with lots of positive energy and light but already reveals glimpses of the shadows that slowly emerge throughout the following tracks. nice is a lightly humming version of an (almost) innocent summer morning. it s a collage of field-recordings, synth-pads and manipulated guitar sounds. candid is a light and open dialog between a simple guitar theme and a playful synth-arpeggio. v1b1n creates the dense atmosphere of a rainy caribbean afternoon dominated by field recordings and everyday noises. nttt8-sets a counter point to the previous three tracks as the energy of le frere s travels cumulates in nttt8, making it a more dance-floor oriented piece carried by a dark and heavy bass-line and almost rave-sirens.

a song dedicated to his wife and their marriage. the song contains so much captured emotions. from shimmering synths and old school orchestra hits to a solid walking bass line that solidifies the love for the dance floor. on the dub mix, santiago stripped the track down for a big sound system leaving a heavy bass line and strings throughout the track. esteban adame presents guaguanco. i wrote this track while playing with g2g and mike banks was always pushing us to electrify your roots. though my family is not cuban, cuban music has been a huge part of my musical development as a musician. the track uses traditional cuban rumba rhythms (guaguanco) to trigger synths and percussion samples alike to create a dense polyrhythmic cushion for the track to sit on.

stug music was born in april 2007 organize events in the netherlands. club venues like paard van troje the hague, doornroosje nijmegen & studio 80 amsterdam were homebase of 55 events where (inter)national artists were invited. focus on programming (inter)national heroes of the past, the present & the future it was always a big wish to start a music label. january 2018 was the digital premiere of stug music, label & events runned by bart van rijn. two original tracks from the founder remixed by specialists in their genre perel & rhadow. with the second release in prospect a special vinyl >remix edition< will be pressed also remixes from kris wadsworth & carlos nilmmns. from dance floor orientated house & techno to indie electronic music.

45 live dj team member aeon seven from northern france drops his first single “seven breaks” on the label, a straight up bboy jam aimed squarely at the dance-floor. a driving uptempo funk/breaks joint, all written by aeon with heavy bass-line, organ riffs, badass breakdown and tasty cuts and scratches. a peak time cut that any block rockin dj needs in their crates!

waggons marks the third motip white release on dorfjungs. after the two previous eps »lywer bent« and »the white ep« this one feels drunken yet still more defined. motip white delivers four thrilling tracks composed of colourful and warm techno, house and electronic hybrids. his ep contains bass driven dance songs as well as cautious and charming anthems. while every song has got its special elements with the typical motip white sound, they all work equally well on the dance floor and at home. the smooth and calm fourth track ends the vinyl but is actually caught up by the euphoric digital bonus »simia«, which brings the ep to a surprising though satisfying (digital) end.

genosha basic artists, ghost in the machine make their perc trax debut! full picture sleeve perc trax returns to the dance floor after the political firestorm that was perc s bitter music with the debut release on the label from the netherland s ghost in the machine. the perc and therefore perc trax name stems from the word percussion and these three drum-focused tracks sum up the label s name perfectly. rarely appearing away from their own genosha basic imprint this ep hits as hard as anything on perc trax in recent years and along with recent releases from ansome and scalameriya ushers in a new wave of artists and a distinct new chapter in the perc trax story. the holy grill commands the whole of the a-side and charges forward until a reese led breakdown gives you a moment to pause for breath. the b-side contains two percussive workouts that have enough movement and development to them to elevate them above simple drum tools. as b2 track pskdt s locked groove loops endlessly (a first for perc trax), it is clear this ep is a hard-hitting statement of intent from a duo you should be hearing a lot more on perc trax in the near future.

love injection is the latest instalment from glitterbox recordings, the one and only 21st century disco. selected by label boss simon dunmore, the eight-track double 12inch package showcases the finest producers making disco and dancefloor-ready house cuts in the here and now. rapson, reverendos of soul, bb boogie, david harness and sisy ey make up some of the contemporary contingent proving that the disco spirit is alive and well. simon has also included respectful nods to the golden-era voices of gwen guthrie and cece rogers.
