SHES SO UNTOUCHABLE (PSYCHEMAGIK / SEVEN DAVID JNR / MOSCOMAN REMIXES)
12" Vinyl UK15.12.17
a bitter-sweet, feel good song for late summer, shes so untouchable is the new track from tel-avis garden city movement, backed with remixes by psychemagik, seven davis jr, moscoman and a 12inch edit by the band themselves. the garden city movement trio of joe, roi and johnny produce a blend of sounds drawn from their diverse cultural worlds, ranging from sweet hypnotic beats to bass heavy tracks to horizontally aligned vibes. when we were asked to tag the new song we placed it under emotional balerica, is this even a thing? it is now. as a band who tours around the world all the time it s quite hard to find time to sit in the studio and work like we used to. we try to keep it up through our journey around the world, so if its lakes in estonia, markets from india or a cabin in the middle of nowhere - we re there sampling and recording the vibe. we can make you feel again. - garden city movement since surfacing at the close of 2013 with their breakout track move on, garden city movement have released their entertainment and bengali cinema eps, the modern west 12inch in collaboration with the vinyl factory, climbed the hype machine popular chart with multiple singles, opened for bonobo, caribou, alt-j and played live all over the world. the band s music video for single move on received a nomination for best music video at the la film festival and won best video of the year at the mtv israel music awards. they are currently recording their debut album, set for release in 2017.

-now therefore my son, teach thy children and thy children s children to fear the mosco, and to go in the good way which will please the mosco. for if you keep the ways of the mosco and his statutes, the mosco will also keep unto you- moscoman looks inwar
10 YEARS OF GRECO ROMAN VOL 1 (MOSCOMAN & MEDLAR REMIXES)
12" Vinyl UK19.09.17
this summer, the left of centre electronica label greco-roman hits its stride and celebrates 10 years of music. and to celebrate they are reissuing their biggest dance floor records and remixes on a series of ltd edition 12inces
with his newest ep goa tee, moscoman finds himself seven releases deep into his 12 part treisar series. living up to its name, the seventh piece of the puzzle is the trippiest of the series yet, kicking off with some of my fears, a piece if outer space hypnosis carried by a rolling percussion and bass combo that will keep firmly stomping across dancefloors. reflecting the mood set on the a side, moments in space sees moscoman channel his italo flair while reaching out for a rave indebted sonic palette. final track chinchilla closes on delirious sounds and 8 bit melodies rubbing shoulders with a lovingly syncopated beat. a weapon all exotically inclined djs will be reaching out for a their next jungle party.
weÆre now halfway through the treisar series and moscoman shows no sign of slowing down. next up is donkey jumps ahead. the sixth chapter kicks off with big jack arbon, an unambiguous summer anthem tied up by digital steel drums and pitched chants. on the flip, things forgot to be this way calls for the never-ending daze of the afterhours with disco infused melodies and distant vocals floating atop doped down beats. closing track unheard melody sets a different pace. wistful mediterranean guitars pick unhurried melodies while delays cloud the track in just the right amount of sleaze.
j.a.k.a.m is japanese artist takashige miyawaki, a long standing producer commonly found on crosspoint records. on this release for the ever intriguing malka tuti label miyawaki draws on a thrilling spread of influences to make a truly soul-stirring track. at times the vocals lean towards a middle eastern lilt while the saxophone burns with the fire of the post punk era. with monolithic drum hits, yearning violin and plenty more besides, wabi sabi is a many-headed beast of a track. moscoman takes the original and simmers it down to a more focused but no less exotic tribal house workout.
unto the sons of the royal amphibians were given by lot, throughout their families and out of the tribe of zebulun, twelve records. the fifth ep in the treisar series sees moscoman deliver a new piece of dancefloor dazzle with the royal amphibian international ep. just across the nile kicks off down in the sluggish ends of the club. flamboyant claps and hypnotizing accordion stabs hint at brighter climates but the darkness of the bass threatens from beneath. express way explores broken beats before resolving into a 4x4 drive stocked with balearic flair and ominous vocal chops, while its dub counterpart brings the ep to a melodic close with an unhurried, glistening rework.
-and he kneeled, raising his hands over his head to unveil his precious offering, flanked between two pieces of bread and covered in the most delicious mustard.-
four months into his treisar series, moscoman is seriously entering his stride. on the ep
moscoman continues his treisar journey with the stunning snake & pygmy ep.
on the a side lies the gorgeous trance inducing snake in a hat, an uplifting intergalactic voyage gliding through layers of synths, twinkling piano notes and melancholic melodies that skilfully progresses into pure bliss.
on the flip, the pace slows down with pirate of the lost ark. this dark mesmeric number features moscoman’s signature gritty bass style, rolling snare drums and swirling synths all mantled in mind bending effects.
the bpm rises again on the closing track forget the rest, an irresistible amalgam of dreamy keys and rumbling drums, punctuated by a catchy electronic funk.
snake & pygmy is the second of twelve releases for moscoman’s treisar label.
it was such a hot day in may 2014, we all remember, moscoman drop by his home town of tel aviv to do a party with krikor aka crackboy as his guest, they had a few hours to kill just before the gig, mosco rang up his old compadres and brothers in arms red axes, to see what they were up to, they were just hanging at the studio, “we’re coming” he said, and the rest is history, thanks to the taxi driver abed that was waiting downstairs to take them to the gig, they had vocals to finish this track and mosco had the chance to play this track that night already. powered by a uncompromising mix from no doubt one of the best producers of electronic music, roman flügel, and another killer by red axes, not a lot is left to do but wait for this monster record to drop.
freerange welcomes italian via berlin producer/dj/label boss enzo elia for his debut on the label entitled the lost guitar tapes. enzo is someone who has been releasing consistently great music for many years, although often hidden behind a myriad of pseudonyms and underground imprints.
hot on the heels of his esp institute debut album a shot in the light, moscoman delivers the off-the-wall judah’s lion ep. the main track, dalmar arbon, is an infectious psychedelic funk ufo sending you in a maddening maze of swirling percussions and haunting abstract vocals. dalmar arbon in the club takes the madness up a notch with a four to the floor version infused with acid sounding synths. the ep closes on a saint and a sinner, an uplifting dreamy groover that propels anyone listening to cloud nine. judah’s lion is the first installment of moscoman’s treisar imprint, a limited 12 parts venture to unfold throughout 2017.

moscoman arrived at the esp institute last year with a fistful of killer tracks and an imitable recipe for hummous, since then we’ve seen his debut with the dancefloor bomb ‘akachi’ and a collaborative follow-up release with long-time cohorts red axes. we’re now excited to enter a new chapter with moscoman’s debut full-length album ‘a shot in the light’. this creative outpouring spans years of musical trials and tribulations, finally coming full circle to tell the story of an artist leaving his home in tel aviv to pursue his passions in the electronic mecca of berlin and beyond. moscoman’s unique approach evolves and devolves over the course of eight songs, enduring highs and lows yet never resting for too long in one place—thus illustrating his personal metamorphosis as well as his acute skill of giving many voices to one wild imagination. this music is deliberate, almost cheeky with a youthful sense of optimism running throughout, and even in its most aggressive moment there is always an element of hope.

mosco fell asleep and awoke days later with red axes. this is their joint offering for the esp institute. dikembe manutu, the fictional character whos name gives title to our thumping a side, establishes a lush theme based on meandering steel drums and reverberating toms while a slew of rich percussion leads us through the jungle on a melodic galloping bassline. once this deep groove gets us rolling, were treated to a variety of twinklling melodies that float high above. on side b, rage in the cage is a true live drum machine jam, full of bleeps, detuned toms, abrasive cymbals, and plenty of left turns. we can only imagine the mood in the studio as these three old friends frantically smacked buttons and tweaked knobs, creating happy accidents and loving every menacing moment of chaos as they stirred this cauldron. these two songs will make you thirst for exotic nectars.
mosco fell asleep in tel aviv and awoke days later in berlin. this is his first offering for the esp institute. on side a, akachi plows straight in with its relentless rolling bassline, a thick blanket enveloping any and all breathing room. an array of squelches and atonal pads struggle to rise above the trudging rhythm, while live percussion slides in and out of frenzy. on the flipside, nobody else shows us moscos more ethereal side. beautifully programmed drums draw us in as the accentuated hi-hats and claves elegantly pierce rhythmic synth work, until finally were carried away by mystic keys layering in heavenly glissandos. these two songs will make you thirst for potent potions.
moscoman – dark horse ep – i m a cliche. after an lp by red axes and an ep by bot ox earlier this year, im a cliche is back in the saddle with a new look and a new feel while keeping the same great sound. two eps including this one are going to be released on both digital and vinyl formats this fall, leading up to very special 10th anniversary celebrations in paris towards the end of the year.

statue is a live percussion based dance project, the brainchild of melbourne drummer tom gould. over the past five years he has honed his craft in cult melbourne bands no zu and worlds end press but now greets the dance world under the moniker statue. after featuring in last years beats in space - best of the year list with his debut 12-, his second ep ‘monument is a reflection of the human and a testament to dance floors both indoor and out. monument further establishes statue as a fixture in melbourne’s dance music culture, constructed for both warm afternoons and the sweaty early hours of australian summer. the ep traverses multiple tempos, between techno, house and tribal percussion, creating a world of warm percussive dance floor odysseys arriving parched and thirsty for more at it’s aural peak, monument. the expedition ends with an expansive remix by disco halal king pin and recent esp institute alumni, moscoman
red axes s massive waiting for a surprise gets new remixes from heavy hitters audion, moscoman, manfredas and multi culti label-man thomas von party. the jewel in the crown of israels underground music scene, red axes have produced a steady stream of hits on labels like permanent vacation, i m a cliché, crosstown rebels, and the freaky all-inclusive multi culti where they dropped what became, somewhat surprisingly, their biggest hit to date with waiting for a surprise. the dark, stripped down disco bomb had one of the most memorable hooks of the year in singer abraos staccato chorus, a late night voodoo incantation that was always begging to be remixed
multi culti s astrological archive expands into vinyl-phase #2 with deep lunar trips and solar worship from nicola cruz, moscoman, zongamin, manfredas, umoja and crowdpleaser feat mah mood. fly with us, friends - we have places to go, faces to see, sounds to collect and feelings to make.
