seven years down the line and tamed musiq is proud to present its first-ever album release: ,,upstream color- by iron curtis.

for the first time iron curtis enters the ring over the full ep length for uncanny valley. there hasn t been much of a discussion whether or not this is something for uncanny valley when iron curtis approached the four label heads with this new pile of dance floor material. these tunes are too good. iron curtis must have been particularly inspired by the muse while producing these four outstanding house tracks. you ll feel a comprehensive knowledge about dance music s history when listening. no doubt, the franconian who is now based in berlin has spent a good time of analysing house music s techniques. -sweet romancer- is the best example for his studio eloquence. modulated synths, a classic bass line and a whole batch of drum ideas are combined into a wonderful track. the interplay between subtlety and vitality characterizes -nixdorf danse-. plus, you won t forget those strings. on -triroom- he proves that he has a knack for melodies as well. finally, -take me home- should provide a lot of emotional moments on the dance floor with its dramatic piano and crescendo-like synth line.

session victims new label adventure pen & paper sets its sails with the boys first original track since their 2017 album listen to your heart. puzzle builds an intense groove from an array of mechanical and organic percussion and chunky 12 bit chordstabs over a haunted pad and noise backdrop. closing the a side, vril takes the tune far out into deserted wasteland, steering his drumloops over chilly soundscapes towards a lynchesque string horizon. with not one but two versions, iron curtis claims the flip all for himself and, well, excels, excels twice. b1 hits with everything a breakbeat can hit you with and it brings that exact kind of bassline along. euphoric retro arps flush everything into enigmatic breakdowns to bring it back out and further. mr curtis finally brings the record into classy house territory with his passagen mix, embedding the original in between a heavily bouncing rhythm and an irresistible string section. vital sales points: - new label by the infamous session victim - smashing remixes by vril (dystopian, giegling) and iron curtis (hudd traxx, frank music) extensive global promo + tour - vinyl only

iron curtis has felt like a polytone artist for quite a while now. he recently delivered a breathtaking remix for matthias vogt, and shared a split ep with the man himself, terrence dixon. hes also played several label nights, but indeed unwind is his first very own ep on polytone. the opening track riders is our floor filler here. a subsonic bass experience of the more intensive kind. its a pure groover, with a surprisingly long lasting breakdown that never lacks on intensity. cream on the a2 is a stellar ambient joint, with rhythmic elements and cosmic pads. on the flip we have the title track, unwind, with an unconventional basic groove, bleepy touches and trademark 707 drum machine sounds. pure and stunning deepness. the final track is a remix from force/emerge and leads unwind into techno territory. polytone stands for diversity, and again demonstrates the labels vision of versatility here.

iron curtis is back on hudd traxx with the second installment of his lights ep. much like the first round that dropped earlier in the year, the man like johannes paluka is on sterling form, dealing in the kind of refined yet earthen, deep but punchy house music hes built his name on to date. spectral is the consummate opener, deft piano chords and rock solid drums with additional dubby fx pulsing through the mix. well well well is a sunnier affair aiming for that euphoric terrace moment, while see ya brings a rough swing to the party with a cosy, intimate line in soulful sample licks. l&p finishes the ep off with a warm, acidic bassline and more of that deep diving beatdown business.

iron curtis back catalogue is a formidable beast within the realms of deep and tech house, touching on labels like morris audio, jackoff, sudden drop and mule electronique. he s intermittently popped up on hudd traxx as well, and he returns with a fulsome new ep that hints at a forthcoming second part.lights- is a bold, chiseled peak timer with some emphatic string stabs coursing through it, while captured takes a slinkier route without dulling the impact of the curtis studio approach. 22 days is a funkier concern that lets the low end synths do the brunt of the work, and then my humming machines rounds the ep off with a warm and bubbling deep house roller for a cosier part of the night.

office vol. 10 ! versatility has got to be iron curtis second name. there are only few other producers on the electronic scene who are able to display such a variety of musical facets as this talented man from berlin. with his maple ep he underlines his reputation of an artist with many faces as his new release is quite a box of surprises: rarley have we heard iron curtis in such a dubby mood.
beginning with the straight and bass centered title track maple iron curtis moves on to the almost beatless and moody collision and the chord driven dub house of entago entery and finishes the ep with the delicate, ambient encore reset me on b2. with its impressive display of variety this record is a celebration of reduced, understated dub techno performed with a distinct musical flair and a clear artistic vision which perfectly fits label owner baaz direction of his office imprint so far. what s surprising is how effortless and natural iron curtis appearance on his long-time friend s record label feels. in such good shape his maple ep is a definitve tip for the lovers of sophisticated and detailed dub techno full of suspense.

having been rivals on the football pitch as teenagers, a chance encounter many years later - djing at an international windsurfing festival - cumulated in a back to back set that kicked off the italia90 collaboration. putting the footballing differences aside, italia90 grew out of a shared love of quality house music that was influenced greatly by glasgow s close relationship with chicago and institutions such as the sub club that brought these house heroes close to home.

moon is a discovery of iron curtis & johannes albert. before them boys drop their album they tease us with some rave informed jungl-ish techno (fyi - working title -shed-). the break? yes it is just long enough to go to the loo. flip comes with proto appealed trance in a classic executed electro-vain. so hop on your spacecraft and join ze ride.

finally, leftback s own dudley strangeways rounds off the ep is his usual style, which cannot be described as anything less than true quality. as ever, black key have excelled in delivering a package which ticks all the right boxes, this is a release which will undoubtedly appeal to a diverse range of house music fans who appreciate a rather large nod to the underground. vinyl only.

office 04 circles in memories: the record is about johannes * iron curtis* palukas time at karl-marx-straße berlin where he used to live next door to label head baaz and graphic designer chris fladung. a1 track * magnet* is an ecstatic piece of house music holding all elements ics production is esteemed and loved for : heavy, unrelenting kicks, rolling bass lines, shimmering pads, topped with searing hot yet gamelan-like synts and an icing of slightly loose, detuned organ stabs predesting grand emotions on any dance floor. * what happened happened* surely marks up as another proof of curtis fearless takes on house music: distorted field recordings and blurred spoken words, a web of gossamer melodies and subtle clicks and cuts, all cohered by the louche bassline and the reshuffled groove in a true dilla-ish vein. adapting elements to their own agenda, clandestine groove explorers berg turn * what happened* into a true midnight roller: razor-sharp hihitas join forces with a steam-maschine like percussion, whipping relentlessly in-between kick drum and kick drum. berg cools off their take with prancing melody motifs and strung out pads of the original track, though never loosing focus of the * reductions* aim: keep the dancer dancing.

its been almost a year since the release of iron curtis magical debut soft wide waist band, and now a luscious remix record comes galopping around the corner, riding one of the most beautiful tracks on the album.

feelharmonic proudly welcomes birke tm to our label with his debut ep *oro jackson*. the young german producer steps up to the mark with the warm, extra-deep title track *oro jackson* leading the way followed by the storming *the white tree*, a cut created specifically with the underground party scene in mind, while *all star swing* is a gentler and emotional groover. when it came to remixing *oro jackson* we had only one man in mind, birke tms friend iron curtis who delivers a brighter and more soulful interpretation of the original.

the second part of the >what about talk about< series by baaz starts with >owls night<. a deep house tool with a vigorous bassline, some classic 909 elements, weird vocals and a pumpin piano chord. >those things< the second track on the a, infects you with positive vibrations and the magic mood. the b side enters with a remix by the highly skilled producer michel bauman under his moniker soulphiction. he turned the track called k.m.s. into an emotional and strong kicking house tune. a cut for the special moments. the original is produced by iron curtis & baaz . 90 bpm, a dippy pipe organ, wooden beats and shaky percussions. the last track >whatabouttalkabout< is a lush experimental listening slice, prober for the dark and chilly winterdays.

starting his career on mark es merc music label, chicago damn is now one of the hottest uk producers and has been establishing himself with more tunes on labels like wolf music, quintessentials, wurst music or his own chicago damn imprint. and he will soon have triplets and is preparing his first album! sounds like a lot of midnight action!

agnes is known for his usual deep, dubbed-out minimal techno productions and explores as well more house-influenced rhythms and textures. agnes runs the geneva-based label sthlmaudio recordings. launched in 2003, sthlmaudio has released tracks by agnes, puma, octex, apoll, cabanne, croatian producers luka & lazo and lately the swiss duo azuni. agnès also had a well received ep on cabannes minibar label (treat me bad) and upcomming releases in late 2006 on plak records, einmaleins musik and perspectiv records. he has recently started to collaborate with the zurich based label drumpoet community under the moniker of cavalier. he also released to date 2 ep under his ray valioso name for real soon records in the uk.
