we finally did it: we proudly present to you our very first vinyl by none other than mr. sean oneil aka someone else, the mastermind behind foundsound records! known for his awesome releases on various labels and for filling dancefloors all over the world, he delivers a cool club track called >zebra talk<. driven by a heavy, minimal beat, this track offers freaky vocal lines, spooky breaks and enough tension to keep the crowd moving. we also provide you with some great remixes: the first one by miskate is a more deconstructed approach to the original track, featuring loads of percussion and neatly arranged breaks, surrounded by massive reverb. the second remix is by the argentinian producer omar salgado. a groovy new bassline and full of deep variation, this moves the track into a different direction.

after a short hiatus, misericord is back for 2010 with more off-kilter missives for back-room massive. first up is the welcome return of mr al usher. his >gnanfou< ep christened the label back in the summer of 2007 and was rapturously received / licensed all over the place. al has been quiet of late, busy being a dad and doing a proper job, but prins thomas put his out of the loop gem >lullaby for robert< out again in 2009 to much acclaim. this new release >hilversum< is very much its follow-up: al at his most unashamedly gorgeous, re-contextualising an old deutsche neue welle melody and weaving it into a characteristically intricate and beautiful piece of post-balearic loveliness. for the flip we commissioned a remix from one of europes most exciting new producers, barcelonas john talabot.

allow us to introduce creatures of habit. the brainchild of dj/producer brenden wesley, the boston outfit s membership boasts a wild band of guest players, with musical virtuosos and analogue gear whores alike. relentless jam sessions between wesley and close pals chas bronz & robbie roland yielded lustre , their debut offering on the esteemed solardisco label. an aural innuendo anchored by a hypnotic, low-slung bassline, the song deftly trades in warm, flirtatious instrumentation and studio wizardry. through his akult party, brenden s not only honed his chops as a dj, he s befriended a whole host of the new disco cognoscenti. amongst them are brooklyn s own nick chacona, who recently released his debut long player on moodmusic to much acclaim, and dfa darlings runaway, who have been reeled in for remix duties. both artists head straight into house territory with decidedly different results. chacona shoots for the stars with his cosmic take on the original, adding just the right amount of sleaze and putting in one of his finest reworks in recent memory. runaway deepen things out with aplomb, dusting off the rhodes to drive their quirky mix home. connecting the dots between boston and brooklyn discotheques, this ep marks quite the auspicious debut for creatures of habit.

the phenomenal handclap band out of nyc dropped a brilliant debut album last year and first single >15 to 20< was a stand out track. hector works label founder anthony mansfield got the opportunity to remix the track and was so into the tune that he rinsed two versions. while these versions got widespread exposure and distribution from both friendly fire and gomma, anthonys remixes were until now digital only. we want our records! the disco mix is a slower funk version using the catchy vocals over a helping of sweet disco dubûthe punk funk mix uses all the elements of the track and points it for a dance floor!

ltd 2010 repress !!! marco carolas string of recent releases on plus8 and his own 2m imprint are now effortlessly hurtling forward under the weight of their own momentum and the bloody cash ep shows no sign of relenting. in fact if its possible, this collection of four new combustible tunes adds another dimension to his already substantial repertoire. on the title track bloody cash, carola immediately shows his intent, letting fly with a spiraling tribal groove full of bright, crisp percussive elements that stretch skywards towards the sun. the tough, earthy beats keep everything rooted to the ground as he taps into some age-old hedonistic urge, creating a universal groove that rolls out across the oceans before breaking on the shores of each continent with an all encompassing call to dance. the main body of the track incorporates a straight synth stab doused in reverb that sets the scene for the finely crafted main keyboard riff, which is an accomplishment in itself. alternating between two complimentary parts, it elevates the backing track to another level. perfectly balanced and enhanced for maximum danceability, its without doubt one of carolas finest works to date

the second release of >vibes - new&rare music< brings rick wilhites long time friend and fellow 3chairs producer theo parrish to the table. theo gives us an adventurous ride like only theo can. starting out on a blues tip, this track morphs into a string laden jazz affair without missing a beat. epic stuff!
on the b-side its a one-way ride to chicago with ricardo miranda blasting on the car stereo. this relative newcomer, who has recorded for hour house is your rush and vega records, really outdoes himself on >urbanism<. as we cruise into town, heading straight to lakeshore drive, this track kicks off so soulful, yet so raw! it reminds us of the best days of prescription underground, on which this easily could have been released. addictive.

the first teaser from the long awaited second album of phil mison (aka cantoma) comes in a true idjut boy haze. reminiscent of early u star at its best, their remix of >north shore< is one of the most locked-in grooves we have heard for some time. the vocal version sucks you into an almost trance like fashion and is purely made for the late night hours on a sweaty dancefloor. hearing this on a big system is truly a spiritual experience. the instrumental ties down an amazing second 12 inch for leng and gives us further excitement on the release of the second cantoma album. simply terrific.

our man will sabatino aka sabo doesnt need too much introduction to those who know. his long running ep series is back as he continues to move away from the tropacalia vibe he used to be known for into a well rounded party vibe. this time we got deep cosmic disco remix of the radiohead tune >house of cards<, a beefed up edit of bow wow wows classic >i want candy< with extended intro and outro. on the flip theres some african space disco with lots of dubby elements and atmospheric break downs, plus amadou & mariams >artistiya<, with pumped up drums, subtle edits, and some smart delays to take this classic straight to the dancefloor.

fear of flying regular leif provides the 4th release for fofs revitalised limited label. a supa slick slice of modern vocal house, priority sees leif up his game with supremely tight production, a killa funked up b-line and sensual vocal from new recruit donna lea. for remix duties we opted for the up & coming talents of young un ethyl along with production partner flori. they come up with an altogether different take, coaxing elements of the vocal into a bigger sounding deep house experience. finally we thought we opt for a little bit of a curve ball in the shape of daze maxim. upon hearing dazes installment in the excellent story series we knew he was someone we needed to get on board - here daze strolls into tough tech house territory with a groove slightly reminiscent of rick wade at his most dance floor

italojohnson greets the dance floor with his first vinyl release embodying three functional tracks appropriate for any party mood.
the a-sides systematic drumming maliciously rumbles through the prime time floor as the mellow waves begin to take form and surge into a hysterical tsunami of beats. an emotional sunrise paves the tracks finale.
a similar functional sound continues on b1 and soon after, exposes itself as a percussive chicago house track as the 707, 727 and abyssal bassline protest against loungy house.
the dubbier interpretation of the italojohnson concept can be found in the final track on b2. the 808-thunderstorms and melancholic pads have lived through more than one summer, yet have only triumphed through charm and optimism.

the amazing situation return with two sides of love – gangster love and sutra love. the gangster side is an amazing clash of a skit from american gangster (heavily inspired by the eddy grant produced >funky like a train< by the equals) with donna summer. the resulting blend is as inspiring and surprising as it is unlikely. but with their usual disregard for boundaries and rules, situation seamlessly melt the two original cuts together into a perfect slice of discoid boogie that absolutely sets fire to the dancefloor. on the flip side, love of a deeper and groovier type oozes from sutra love. its a case of yet more top class, bass led disco action thats firmly focussed on maximum dancefloor reaction. this is without a doubt one of the best situations ever! and with heavy releases on disco deviance and their own imprint already under the belt that really is saying something.

loco & jam are northern irish based techno duo, lloyd reid and james peoples. now its time for their brand new ep on marco baileys mb elektronics label. >roundhouse< builds up slow with a nice deep bass but turns into a big room techno track before you know it! the second track is a splendid remix of >roundhouse< by ascion & d. carbone. what the funk! this track has such a nice groove and will fit in a variety of record-bags. on the b-side you will find the uplifting track >3d symphony<. this track will surprise you again and again: so many things are happening here. peak time slamming techno destroyer!

remember your first time at a rave? of course you don’t. and if you do, you either did it wrong or you’re a liar. with the latest installment of the 7777 onslaught, jared wilson aims to remind you of a time you dont remember. this ep is a souvenir back in time. beyond the zero and beyond the one and back into the analog bringing back memories you never had and experiences you never felt. paris massacre is reminiscent of a time when function mattered more than form and fashion, when sound systems and no lighting took precedence over state of the art fashion shows and laptop djs. its not nostalgic by any stretch of the word, though. how can one be nostalgic for a time they cant recall? the flip of the record is the wonderful >scmocid<, a wonderful reexamination of what it means to work a 303 to near death.

aniligital music is back at it with anthony mansfield and tal m. klein and their evil ways! building upon the successes of their previous collaborations, the villainous duo raises the stakes and take things deeper with this enigmatically titled three tracker. ciento ocho is spanish for 108, the tempo of the first track on the ep. a creepy crawly builder with 8-bit roots that culminate in a huge funk breakdown with an insidious bass hook (if you have any doubt,just fast forward 3 minutes into the track) next up is desayuno en timpanis which we think means breakfast at timpanis in spanish. needless to say this ones heavy on the percussive elements, including of course lots and lots of timpani drums. desayuno en timpanis gets going pretty quickly and doesnt let up. check the flanged upright bass breakdown for extra bigness! purely non-stop huge sound system busting dancefloor action. speaking of floor fillers, have we shown you our tiger bomb? bomba de tigre is the definitely the deepest track on the ep, but lest anthony and tal rest on the laurels of their 808 kicks and 303 basslines, this tigre is a stalking beast that explodes in a vicious classic house attack!

up next here at dirt crew recordings is one of our favourite producers and biggest talents in the house scene these days. jay shepheard gained much respect with his fantastic releases and remixes for compost, diynamic, buzzin fly and most recently on his own retrofit label that just saw its launch a few months ago and has been taking off since then. dry percussive house music with a cool disco feel to it and great 80s string hooks. nothing less is offered on this new ep for our label, 4 tracks that go down the same smooth path into house heaven… your dancefloors will love it !

gavin herlihy is back on cadenza, and he comes bearing what can only be seen as an instant anthem. remember those foam toys, the ones where you just had to add water, and theyd swell into wonderful, unexpected shapes? back burner is a lot like that, but no water needed: just a needle in the groove, or a laser across the aluminum, is enough to send this sucker ballooning to enormous proportions.

demdike stares debut album >symbiosis< was released in late 2009 and explored sean canty and miles whittakers interest in re-appropriated found sounds of all colours and origins. fast adopted into the >hauntological< canon, the album evoked the noises and spirits of distant yet oddly familiar locations.

after the first successful release with the swinging track 1927 by shemian, burlesque musique goes one step further and invites the band budzillus to contribute a stomping balkan beat song which the labelheads put into a garment of lucious tech house. every instrument is recorded live and used in this pumping remix by aka aka. if youre into the black magic, buy the vinyl. it contains also the first release by shemian!

truly beautiful deep house records are things to be treasured, akin to proper songs that will last the test of time, not made to meet a fleeting fad. this is one of those records and a real pinnacle & departure for blm & pawas. although the term deep is an oft overused one, >waiting game< personifies the genres true key traits with a subtly moving groove that gradually builds, using layers of subtle percussion and a rich, warm synth motif to make a rich tapestry of sounds before finally introducing the beautiful female vocal that gives the track its name. patrice scott liked the track so much that he agreed to remix it - his first ever outside of his own, excellent, sistrum label. using plenty of the original track parts but taking it a different direction, patrice really has come up with something special. the track moves along with snippets of the main vocal and clever use of the main synth, the groove being underpinned by patrice s classic sense of production before moving into a more classic >detroit< ending - a mindset with a bigger, more dramatic sensibility
