after first appearing on the label back in 2016, florence-based italo house stalwarts minimono return to vibraphone with another selection of illustrious dancefloor gems for subtler moments in the dance. oldest friend is an airy, dreamlike track laden with upper register chords, tones and fx pinging around in a reverie of deep house delight, while questions- gets locked into a loose, swinging groove with some mysterious pads swirling around the middle distance for added atmosphere. some day is a more rugged affair that bumps and wriggles in all the right places, while eleven days explores broken beat territory without losing the hazy atmosphere that permeates the ep.
nice price deal !!! let s continue with the third ep set s release, introducing another true and eclectic talent born and raised in bologna: francesco zaniboni aka dj rou. three master tracks, a2 side featuring jackie, with an deep house groovy and funky keyboard pinch rhytm characteristic of his sound. as always dj rou loves the sampling and free creativity. on the b side, moreover, you can find a remixing masterpiece by the florentine duo minimono, recorded and fully composed in live session.
vinyl only. fresh from releases on the legendary vibraphone and robsoul labels, alongside their own long-running bosconi imprint, fabio della torre & ennio colaci aka minimono join the inner balance family for an ep of four fine house dishes. each cut gives us a different taste of classic house, from the sharp melchior shuffle of goblin to the sweet rhodes and walking bassline of on the edge , which wouldn t sound out of place in the fair park catalogue. still alive is a light confection of soft pads topped with subtle improvisations, while this side of the forest delivers a more flavoursome sir lord commix-style groove. satisfaction guaranteed
italian duo minimono are next to release on elephant moon. side a takes off with the title track, a funky number with groovy bassline, timeless beats and glorious pads. next up is cronimo , which has a disco-inflected rhythm at its core. on the flip, long afterwards maintains the unmistakeable minimono sound, introducing vocal clips to bring a human element to the music this is a jazzy, funk-laced roll out. finally, i see you brings things down to a slower pace which gives you time to absorb the whole ep while also investigating new terrain. a beautiful collection of music we re sure you ll agree. catch it while you can!
finally the third release for red rooster records. like the second one, we are talking about a various artists e.p.: minimono (fabio della torre and ennio colacci) is an italian duo born in florence in 1997. in 2008 fabio and ennio founded their own label -bosconi records- where they released their first album in 2010. now minimono works with robsoul records, vibraphone and other very good label from all over the world. dj rou is parts of the project called homequest, a real crew of artists made in bologna, we can also find his music on robsoul jazz, bosconi extra virgin or flexi cuts. memoryman aka uovo is one of the famous pastaboys, he has a long story that starts with the label manocalda, he worked with a lot of big artists from the main house scene and he did a lot of records with the bests labels. d’arabia, class 1991, is the owner of red rooster records and this is the third release for him, surely not the last.
g.i.m. productions (g.i.m. is for groove in mind), is a collective of italian artists from rome. makes a debut with hot onda records very first release, baked with minimono (fabio della torre and ennio colaci) remix from bosconi records based in florence. solid!
mid 90 s, dark basements, muscle boys & party kids, kings & queens,, cheap drugs & dry ice, pimps & whores.... and the greatest dance music ever. dj soch, with his latest release, pays tribute to that wonderful era with his own personal vision. to complete and give that extra value to the package, comes a super groovy remix by minimono a.k.a. fabio della torre and ennio colac
after “theory of strings (part1)” ennio colaci and fabio della torre present the second part! the first track of a-side is the one who gives the title to the whole project, - theory of strings-, a dubby groover with a funky and psychedelic feel in the vein of a more coloured and dirtier studio 1 or soundhack. the -feeling good vibe- keeps going relaxed and chill with the smart up and down mood of the track -forty degrees- while on b side minimono get drier, minimalistic and more mysterious with the subtle after-hour jam of rewind. this strong effort by fabio and ennio ends trough the cinematic atmosphere and the romantic piano notes of the gentle but raw closing act -still mine-. mind the strings!
few can fail to have noticed the re-emergence of italian deep house in recent times. tracks paying tribute to the dreamy, loved-up and new age-influenced style pioneered by italian producers in the late 80s and early 90s are ten-a-penny these days, though few are quite as breezy and evocative as this ep from minimono. the fact that it s appearing on re-born rome label vibraphone - dormant since 1993, but brought back to life late last year - is rather fitting. the duo s dreamy, melodious and tactile style - see the fluttering synthesized flute lines and tactile grooves of -sailing-, the horizontal house bliss of -suspend-, and the ron trent style slickness of -next step- - is perfectly in keeping with the label s wavy, sun-kissed ethos.
following the well acclaimed comeback on bosconi -gang of fools ep- and the releases on robsoul and vibraphone, fabio della torre and ennio colaci aka minimono strike again with a double release that might be considered as a split album in 2 vinyl records named -theory of strings-.first of two eps starts with the chuggy, jazzy and edgy vibe of -get the groove-, an intelligent partial rework of an underground disco-not-disco old gem. second cut gets more funky-filtered, bouncing and suspended with the fresh broken atmosphere of -back in dc- .on the b side fabio and ennio go back to jazziness adding more broken grooves, some twisted rhodes solo goodness and a persistent hypnotic driving feel to the track -actually-, and then ending this first part with another smooth filtered and toolish winner for the summer called meningi. mind the strings and wait for the second part!
minimono strikes back this time on new born italian label greentech joined by a remix by neverthelss than mr paul johnson. this 4 tracker starts with the raw filter house banger track named boogie, follwed by follow me a dirt dry funk house jam. on the b side we find the deeper and rawer vintage roller the difference followed by the percussive ghetto interpretattion of boogie by paul johnson. solid ep for the 1st release of greentech music.
JAZZ COWBOYS (MINIMONO,GIUSEPPE ETIOPE, DEF SAFARI REMIXES)
12" Vinyl D30.10.15
after debuting on rebirth with their new alias easy to remember (inspired by the famous song from st germain of the same name) niro and elia perrone release now on their own unclear label. the ep contains two originals backed by three remixes.royal rumbles obscure synth melody and obsessive pitch changes pave the way to sinister background noises and beats, whereas jazz cowboys free style drumming, syncopated rhythm and xylophones blur the line between house music and free improvisation. minimonos remix of royal rumble brings the kick drum to the fore and adds a staccato bass line coupled with some stop & gos that spice up the vibe of the track. giulio etiopes rendition of jazz cowboys adds some deep pads, flute sounds and a trumpet sample leading into a dreamy break, with def safaris dark rework turning it instead into a galloping percussive tool.
minimono finally strikes back on bosconi records since 4 years from their last hot album *runaway*. this four tracker vinyl named *gang of fools* represents the perfect continuation of fabio della torre & ennio colacis trademark sound aesthetic dense of funk, warm vibes and west coast house attitude: the record starts on a side with that unmistakable shake-yo-booty disco riff of the *gang of fools* track which follows the deeper and keep on going groove of *rapid fall* on the second cut. on b side instead you ll find the sliding and subtle no excuse driving jack-house-funk of *bring it* followed by the melancholy and romanticism of the *under the influence* closing track. no tools for fools!
after a creative break esance is answering the eternal call for high-standing, frisky, spiced-up tunes with their third release. the two soulboys from florence called minimono, consisting of tenax resident fabio della torre and ennio colaci, are very well known for their crisp and unique productions, combining uptempo- house with teasingly and varied disco and funk elements. hey you is reflecting nothing else than their wide vision of a memorable and eclectic style of music. this piece of joy is impossible to categorize and thats exactly as we like it. rollerball in the other hand, kind of speaks for itself! if you ever want to get your mood rolling, listen to this very powerful outcome of a perky bassline, some haunting percussions and a kooky build up, that really nails it down! to keep the name of esance in honour, the addition of a remix from one of the last living rockstars was inevitable. the interpretation of rollerball from dc10 resident mass prod is a vigorous weapon designed for his established territory, including hot moments, early hours and wild happenings.

bosconi records has long been renowned as arguably italy s foremost exporter of house and techno music. 10 years in, they celebrate one decade in the game courtesy of bosconi stallions volume 2features some of the label s most prominent names.
italian house bastion vibraphone records has more than proven itself in the realms of classic deep house, but this new release from knlb certainly speaks to the new age of the label. the unknown producer makes a stunning entry with -second wind-, an effervescent breakbeat number that harks back to classic 90s mo wax sounds with its resonating piano licks and gritty drum samples. -apollo- meanwhile creates an interesting variation on the dub techno template with a wealth of instrumentation cavorting around a tripped out chord stab, and then -initialize- drifts off into blissful deep house meditation atop a purposeful beat. minimono swoop in to inject some direct funk into their remix of -intialize-, and a very fine job they do of it too.
