uncage presents >collider< an amazing ep by pushmaster discs founder mattia trani. three diverse cuts ranging from raw melodic sound to acid techno. backed up by a wonderful remix from the one and only donato dozzy. essential.
another bomb on uncage! this ep is heavily influenced by that berlin techno modular sound, kicking off with >terraforming< and its percussive swing coupled with synthetic percussive riffs twisting in and out the mix. >monastero< is a slow builder of a track, a haunting synth line accompanies firing hi-hats. head down late-night moments are to be had with >exoplanet< with a low key acid line slicing through the background, leading us into >solar shade<. the lead track has a low-end rumbling sub, deep and powerful with an eerie vibe.
for release number six marco faraone and norman methner welcome branko stojanov to the uИ,cagΞ, family. top and tailing the ep with his two originals branko opens with >oprosti<. a melodic number featuring a floating chord over a sharp beat. this is followed by the first of two remixes of >kao staklo<. darren roberts aka deepbass rolls out one of his trademark reworks with a deep and trippy seven-minute opus. the b side opens with swedish mastermind skudge who delivered a groovy and psychedelic minimal remix of >kao staklo<. before we re finally introduced to the original title track with its misty atmospheres and melancholic grooves. a rock solid first release.
for the 5th release on uncage. corcos delivers two solid cuts with remixes from ostgut ton affiliate and imf head marcel fengler and ilian tape member regen. his dj carrier started in the mid nineties at legendary florence based tenax club where he still holds a residency to this day. no need to mention he toured heavily all over the world and played major clubs such as concrete, berghain, tresor just to name a few. corcos alias fabio della torre is the founder of bosconi records and together with ennio colaci he forms the project minimono.
the ballroom basement of a hotel. the place for jack nicholsons mean encounter with a ghost or possibly the place for a cocaine laden sexual encounter with part of the media agency elite. the label worked there. and so did pablo. buying talent, slinging drinks, just a couple sneering punk kids looking towards a completely different berlin future. there was a time when rough and tumble crossed paths with diamonds. maybe it created diamonds in the rough? pablo always sent the label demos before the label was a label and could do something with them. pablo has had a string of successes since then (too numerous to point out) and the label became a label. became uncaged. time to let this relationship out of the cage. it is a long way from that ballroom basement, now time to do some thrusting, propelled, grinding, noisy, sonic shit together. house music? is it really? just in case you forgot that no one is all grim guts and clenched teeth, that wild abandon sometimes comes in the form of an ecstatic beach dance, nick höppner comes around and forces you to go out to hasenheide park for a picnic and to pick up a bag of dirt weed. >so fucking buy it<

as the dust settles on eduardo s most successful year to date – a year that saw him release his debut album >the intellinet prophecy< and drop science on labels such as badance, nonplus, mental groove and his own analogue solutions – the spanish super-producer propels into the new year with another broad, rich statement of musical intent: this time on marco faraone’s and norman methner s uncage. a label that doesnt just nurture unbridled, freeform creativity but insists upon it, uncage ignited late 2015 with marco s mesmerising >rotaryknobs< and remixes from both radio slave and markus suckut. each artist setting the bar high with their own unique take on techno, it s a tough release to follow. naturally, though, eduardo delivered a wonderful ep. and he’s done so with three beautiful original compositions ranging from cosmic techno to velvet jazz and subdued, poignant house. dig deep...
