dj rou & lite orkestra proves to be one of those original, eclectic and interesting projects for the musical research of the current scene. they got to know each other in the summer of 2014 and a character affinity was born immediately, later transformed into a very strong artistic empathy, so much so that in the immediate future they decided to meet often between bologna and verona for jam sessions, sharing ideas. in the summer of 2017, cognitiva records, label runned by sofatalk, became aware of the project and decided without hesitating to press 1.2,3, original tracks of the release “the ambassador’s way ep”. the compositions are a combination of the electronic drums of dj rou (mpc, korg electribe and other gears), the contrabass and the guitar of lachi + thomaspizzini, better known as lite orkestra. the result is a hybrid exuberance between jazz, afro and the experimental flow that derives from the roots of the jam sessions

nice price deal !!! let s continue with the third ep set s release, introducing another true and eclectic talent born and raised in bologna: francesco zaniboni aka dj rou. three master tracks, a2 side featuring jackie, with an deep house groovy and funky keyboard pinch rhytm characteristic of his sound. as always dj rou loves the sampling and free creativity. on the b side, moreover, you can find a remixing masterpiece by the florentine duo minimono, recorded and fully composed in live session.

finally the third release for red rooster records. like the second one, we are talking about a various artists e.p.: minimono (fabio della torre and ennio colacci) is an italian duo born in florence in 1997. in 2008 fabio and ennio founded their own label -bosconi records- where they released their first album in 2010. now minimono works with robsoul records, vibraphone and other very good label from all over the world. dj rou is parts of the project called homequest, a real crew of artists made in bologna, we can also find his music on robsoul jazz, bosconi extra virgin or flexi cuts. memoryman aka uovo is one of the famous pastaboys, he has a long story that starts with the label manocalda, he worked with a lot of big artists from the main house scene and he did a lot of records with the bests labels. d’arabia, class 1991, is the owner of red rooster records and this is the third release for him, surely not the last.

this is a fresh new project based in bologna, italy. red rooster ep includes four different sounds with a logical framework. d arabia and dj rou (homequest) are two emerging artists that in 2015 began to share their skills in the same recording studio, the result is a groovy sound with a great energy. this is the first release for red rooster records and the future plans are to give us a lot of new emotions from a lot of new talented artists.

within the first few seconds of this record, it seems obvious greg gauthier has been missing clubs as much as we all have. the french soulful stalwart takes a little detour from the soulful & vocal nuyorican feel he s known and renowned for, and takes us deep into chicago basement banger territory with do it. as for the b-side, -underground house rythm? to be honest, the title tells you everything you need to know, really.
