shape-shifting post-punk quasi-legends bourbonese qualk are finally getting a bit of the shine they so richly deserve after years in obscurity, not least thanks to the retrospective compilation on mannequin back in 2015. now platform 23 are reissuing their classic album -laughing afternoon, originally released back in 1983 and having lost none of its impact. its a slippery, shape-shifting creation that veers between uneasy soundscapes and gutter-dwelling funk, with some truly visionary signal processing, electronic textures and more besides in the mix. its a crime this crew arent held in the same regard as their other early 80s post-industrial peers, but at least the wrongs are being righted now.

charonne (imprints, rakya, low money music love) joins the partisan crew

tapan are back with their first release since their debut album europa. after that 2xlp emotional and epic journey they are now showing us again their dancier side with two cuts the beast (featuring serbian musician jan nemecek) and ghana. both tracks are not easy to categorize. perhaps industrial-inspired tribal-trance is the closest description, and yet somehow after listening to the tracks it feels like trying to put it in a box just dont do justice with the complexity of the music and its components. both tracks are remixed by 2 current favorites of the malka tuti crew - russian duo odopt who deliver an out-worldly idm monster of a remix to the beast, and italian-belgian duo front de cadeaux who pitches the track ghana even slower, adding more percussive grooves, a fat bassline and a whole lot of of sexiness to the brew.

olivier kolly aka oktet is back for this 3rd techno home-made release by gravitation crew! the first track is a timeless acid bomb that resounds like the ideal soundtrack of an interplanetary space travel. with his reinterpretation, dmt and knotweed label boss philippe petit continues the space exploration, the planet toward which we’re heading seems more strange and intriguing. 2nd track is as an epic adventure to the borders of real and imaginary. newrhythmic label boss joton gives an hypnotic remix where sirens and tribal rhythms are mixed up. time to take off !

jeff the fool is a french dj and producer who travels between house, funk and hip-hop. his ep “pay your house” is the first release of the label of his crew “thé chaud” based in besançon since 2012.
