dresdens cult label uncanny valley returns with the charming catalogue number six. following up jacob korns first artist ep for the label its c-beams turn now to continue the series of artist eps. break sls and sandrow ms project can be referred to as a true labels child. musically, both artists got to know each other only when the label was founded. for >strollin< they lend the vocal talents by tina slotta who is associated with uncanny valley as well. the result is an irresistible house-jam. easy vibrant beats are complemented by birds twittering, warm keys and tinas carefree lyrics. jackmates remix toughen things up and transfers the tracks with mighty detroit-chords into a real monster for the dancefloor. the slightly murkier >scrapyard< takes its strength out of the interaction between its vehement beats and the c-beams-typical sound excursions. finally, the instrumental of >strollin< rounds up the ep.

juan jose diaz-known in the world of music as kung, is a producer of drum and bass and dubstep born in granada (spain) he has a string of dnb releases on labels as ammunition recs. (usa), melting pot (spain), suspect device, c2d (uk), black seeds (italy) and citrus (netherlands). his drum n bass releases receive good acceptance by the public and also from some major producers like misanthrop, jade, billain, and axiom to name a few. for lime dubs, kung shows his multiple talent as a dubstep producer as well. his sound is happy and dubby, hard to put in a box. its got influences from all over, from minimal techno house to his extreme bass and breaks editing.

a few days ago james blake premiered a new track, a collaboration with bon iver called >fall creek boys choir<, and now its been announced that the track will be included in an upcoming ep from blake called enough thunder.
we now also know that the ep is due out october 10 on atlas and will feature blakes cover of joni mitchells >a case of you<, as well as four other new tracks from the electronic singer-songwriter wunderkind.

good stuff is the first single taken from luomos plus album, appearing in september 2011 on moodmusic records. luomo aka vladislav delay, sistol, uusitalo… under a raft of names finnish artist sasu ripatti has in the last years experimented with ambient, broken beat, glitch as well as grooves and house music with soulful vocals, working with scissor sisters, black dice, apparat, craig armstrong, massive attack, robert owens and towa tei. luomo is about experimenting with pop music, a big influence for ripatti, and bringing it to a fusion of house, disco and electronica. plus is the 5th album for luomo, taking the songwriter abilities of ripatti to a new level, dwelling deep into first generation chicago house and the pop sensibilities of 80s london, coupled with his impeccable crossover pop appeal. never going for a one formula approach, plus has a distinct luomo sound - hypnotic, sexy and delicately insistent, rhythms following a self-movement and never standing still. good stuff brings luomos pop abilities to top-form, changing between a mid 80s boogie bass and synthetic yet warm deep house with a positive vocal deliver from the ever intriguing chicago boys. remixes comes courtesy of area & dave dk.

after two buzzing releases, senzen is quickly getting recognition it deserves. but third time is the charm, right? well, at least in this case. senzen 3 title track, >gonna b<, is based on studio sessions of label boss benno blome together with his long time friend armin engel, who has worked on projects with fela kutis band rhythm taxi & jimi tenor, and had a show on jazzradio berlin for years. the track itself has influences from both producers. tech house meets jazz, what a fascinating concept! freestyle drumming, keyboard jams and effects tied together, creating an original approach to club music. remixers of >gonna b<, marcin czubala (mobilee) and jin choi (contexterrior, private gold, archipel), are two of the hottest producers at the moment. after his excellent streak of releases on mobilee, marcin makes an outstanding debut on senzen and delivers a deeply rooted house remix concentrating on tiny tweaks and variations while carrying them solidly throughout the track. jin, on the other hand, doesn’t let functionality stand in the spotlight of his remix. his music is supposed to touch emotionally and to move the head and the body - and believe me, it does!

recorded in late 2010 and mixed in a remote studio during the finnish snowstorms of early 2011, donky pitch present >the trick ep<, by helsinki resident and skweee pioneer v.c. six original tracks of synth soaked computer funk, electro inspired slow jams and colourful hip hop heaters. v.c. has been making moves in the skweee scene since the early days (as a solo artist and as 1/4 of supergroup yt). his combination of layered synths, hip hop beats and that type of funk only found in the cold reaches of the nordic region have scored him releases on every skweee label going (flogsta danshall / harmnia / mssy / ddpop / disques mazout) as well as ramp recordings. we felt it only right that he commanded our first true foray into the scandinavian electro funk sound of skweee.

the first release on sighas own our circula sound imprint sees the hotflush artist shrug off the dubstep tag altogether with a 12 inch of dark dubbed out techno. marcel dettmanns remix of sighas own >early morning lights< sits on the a side. taking things deeper than one would typically expect, dettmann marries his own sound palette with that of the original perfectly. clocking in around the 130bpm mark, its mutating broken rhythms and throbbing bottom end will appeal to more adventurous dubstep heads as well as the techno purists. sighas eyes down old school tinged >over the edge< sits on the b side. clicks, claps and 909 hats roll over a layer of shifting dubbed out soundscapes and booming square bass.

autoreply offshoot stuga returns with a highly playable 12 inch that is perfect for the outdoor party season. for this release we welcome back ben rourke who has previously recorded for autoreply, his blue ep collaboration with friend pier bucci having sold out instantly and going on to receive critical acclaim. his tracks effortlessly build without the aid of well known formulas always using high end sound design but never forgetting that house and techno music is essentially meant for dancing. >tahiti< is one of those tracks thats perfect for the big room or after-party alike featuring bouncy percussion, an analogue bass-line that will properly drive the sound system and one of the most infectious synth-sequences of the year. in fact the mans developed a whole new genre, desert island techno! >sharpie< explores the deeper realms of dub driven techno with a very liquid approach just so slightly tipping its hat to the 90s detroit vibe and still very much aimed at the floor. enjoy.

flying donkey music, after the first two releases by samuel l session and kirk degiorgio got the respect as one of the new more interesting labels in the underground stream. as third release we can appreciate the homeboy claudio mates m2g4: he shows us something new and different, which is hard to catalogue, just a techno/house track or a simple piece of electronic music. tribute mix by claudio mate is a perfect journey in deep, dark, emotional, emotive lands within an amazing epic ending with guitars played by luca petrosino (an italian guitar talent). orlando voorn really doesnt need any introduction: his deep divine mix is the perfect mix and balance between raw grooves, melodies and solid bassline like his usual trademark. its perfect for dancefloor people who loves berghain or fabric. david hausdorf is a classical musician from the munich philharmonic orchestra but he is also well known for his old works on labels such as synaptic waves, styrax leaves, salo, lifetime music.

david moleon is an expert dj and producer with 13 years of experience. it is common to see david share line ups with big names like dj pepo and cristian varela, who praise his immense creativity and talent as a producer. david has a special knack for producing hit tracks that have become essential parts of the sessions of europes most popular artists, including ben sims, pepo, cristian varela, robert natus, eric sneo, dj murphy, dj link, cesar almena and nuke amongst others. both his dj sets on 3 turntables and his live-acts are examples of high-quality djing, technical ability and force, making him a well-rounded dj, and particularly the stand-out artist from the south of spain.with over 50 records in the market, on labels such as patterns, submission, cobra, soul access, sp series, adult, etc. david has become the most prolific techno producer in spain. in europe, he is know as la joya espanola (the spanish jewel).

here comes, well, certainly not the record to turn your party upside down. the first lurker release brings two raw and sluggish instrumental rides through deep slowmotion territory. young talent babok shows us how to move that midnineties downbeat spirit into an adequate place for 2011, his mysterious djurh combines a strongly fragmented rhythm section and a distracted piano from somwhere below.
on small window, nic & jaq manage to hold the balance between early fall romantics and mid winter darkness,reaching the goosebump-o-meter s full scale with an intense samplesound and a thick drumset.

there is a fantastic quality to gavin russoms work, an otherworldliness that is subtle yet palpable. its heard-or felt, more precisely-in all of his projects, including the crystal ark, black meteoric star and his numerous recordings with delia gonzalez. all of russoms sonic astral projections, with their textures and atmospheric layers, demonstrate his astounding production skills and modular wizardry. as dfas studio engineer, he was entrusted with the hefty task of maintaining the labels analog stockade. russom has built custom gear for the likes of james murphy, black dice and holy ghost!, has remixed artists including juan maclean, cut copy and caribou, and filled out the wonderful music of lcd soundsystem. so its no wonder that russoms newest solo outing, night sky, reflects the talent and experience accrued in all those roles with both stunning precision and audible clarity. add patience to the above list as well.

the mysterious rod enterns the balans arena with an uncompromising, abstract techno affair. little can we tell you about this mysterious character. only that a famous dj from rodterdam is behind this alter ego and that he did a very well received ep on ben klocks klockworks earlier this year.
the music coming from this persona is one hundred percent puristic, stripped down, dj tool techno. with a capital t you have seen that right! no nonsense hypnotism as we rarely see it nowadays. three or four sounds per track, each pushed and stretched inside out for maximum result. these tunes are made for dark, strobe lid cellars or underground techno temples such as berghain.
techno is back and this is about as abstract and underground as it gets. we look forward to release more rod records in the future.

dorninger (who has chosen the prickly project-name >dorn< which means >thorn< in english) gets presented on this vinyl in his proven quality as an accomplished sound-explorer all across electronic soundscapes. you will find a range from dance-tracks containing fluffy breakbeats, psychotically screwed basses and flogging electric shocks (hard timz, my little synthpopinferno, la batteria della noce) to the point of impulsive (no) wave rave (crying) as well as nervous chill-in-grooves (night oh night). due to the fact that an album-cover provides space for 2x30x30cm art it is more than obvious that houztekk came in touch with the vienna based artist julie monaco as the houztekk crew admired her work since a certain period of time. as well this was the reason that maximilian m. contacted julie monaco telling her that a record which perfectly corresponds with her graphics is in planning.

when a deservedly hyped label like no.19 music states that its biggest release is about to drop then a certain amount of attention is due and thats exactly what the labels 19th release, tanner ross >b side ep<, deserves. despite having clocked up an impeccable discography that takes in collaborations with soul clap (as sect) and sergio ross as well as output for freerange, airdrop, culprit and dirty bird this is ross first solo release under his given name and is causing a enormous buzz via consistent plays from label-boss jonny white (art department), crosstown rebels main-man damian lazarus and a few close friends of the family. adding to the two stunning originals, b side and 4 u ft. flo night , and pushing things into unmissable territory is a brilliant remix of the latter from crosstown rebels / wolf & lamb family member, deniz kurtel.

b1 – salvatore freda - invictionafter numerous great and ingenious releases on cadenza, liebe*detail, freerange and others, salvatore continues with another effective lesson in hypnosis and self-awareness. dont ask, dont tell, just see for yourself!
b2 – frieder blume – we play for love - frieder sounds like those worldly-wise professionals that definitely know there business. but in fact its his first track on vinyl and we all can imagine what this guy will sound like in a few years. we play for love builds and builds and builds and culminates in a climax… bam! rewind please…

james johnston is on a roll! after his very well received release on 4lux he now dives in even deeper territory with these four excellent us-inspired deephouse cuts. we have the dark sexy groover >a new day begins<, the sunny rhodes-driven >drive around the city<, the smoked-out >haze< and the hypnotizing late-night workout >why do they wanna go<. a masterclass in deep yet up lifting housemusic.

there are a number of producers who are known for being prolific, roska, cooly g, benga to name a few, and now gerry read can be added to that list. the cambridgeshire producer has only a handful of actual releases to his name, but a vault of hundreds. we can well imagine his hardrive straining from the sheer velocity of ideas that he sends our way. raw, urgent and frequently off kilter, gerrys production challenges your ears but always manages to lock in the groove.

md2 with the fourth release... well crafted effective techno tracks with that tight md2 sounds that makes you want to crank up the system to the max! no-onsense techno release that comes in limited supplies on red coloured vinyl!

the mysterious robotalco serves up four deep house cuts for nycs on the prowl. robos road kicks things off with the right amount of hissing strings and slow drifting vibes that win its a1 spot. next up we have it gets to me, which strips things back a bit with pulsing synths, sparse congas, and perfectly placed vocal snippets. on the b-side we get moon robot, it keeps things rolling with its stompy feel and more of whats becoming robotalcos signiture swirling synth pad sound. rounding up the release for b2 is zuk zuk, with its quirky low slung groove that develops into a latin percussive gem...its really a superb way to round off robotalcos otp debut. well done.

gly drums! real ugly drums? well, in fact it doesnt matter! quintessentials 25 is a stunning 3-tracker from new signing ugly drums aka steffen baldo (who released an obscure white label on rush hour recently). steffen is a master when it comes to deep spooky house tunes, just check the a-side track >alright alright<. yes, it has a slight tp feel we think. the b-side shows steffens second love, which is pure house music with a disco twist. ugly? not at all, it’s beautiful

pirahnahead and diviniti, these names are synonymous with quality dance music. since 2004s >find a way< they have been two of dance musics most prolific songwriters (and even co-wrote a few songs for les nubians on their 2011 full length >nu revolution<). with each release they have provided powerful production, smooth vocals, angelic harmony, and overall, musical excellence. this time, the super collaborators return to the foreground with one of the best tracks of 2011, >(just like)a dream<. as the sixth release from whasdat music, this soothing track has been supported by the likes of vinny da vinci, ian friday, paris cesvette and neil pierce as well as phil asher (who included it on soul heavens miami sampler mix). also, joining in as remixers are charles webster and jose carretas. both have previously collaborated with pirahnahead & diviniti, topping charts on traxsource.com. (charles websters >learning to love me< and jose carretas >life in a box<). this release is a sure-fire floor rocker and a must have for any dj.

vault series is a cheeky little series where rush hour drops never before released tracks and mixes from its vaults as well as tracks which are in dire need of a re-release.
the series kicks off with an unreleased track by the mysterious duster valentine. an anthemic disco track that, with its catchy piano loop, pays homage to the golden days of new york house music. music that will make you sweat!
on the other side we find aardvarcks fun-loving-freestyle-disco-mash-up-party-jam. its original release a few years ago saw support by many djs around the world. it was only released as a limited once sided promo. here is a chance for those who missed it to own a copy. this version is remastered and extended!

hotflush recordings presents the first new scuba single since 2010s landmark album, triangulation. since that release scuba has concentrated more squarely on deep, epic house and techno via the scb project, most notably with loss released earlier this year on aus music. that focus extends itself to the lead track of this release, adrenalin, which must be the most unashamedly dancefloor scuba track to date, while b-sides never and everywhere take the well-documented fascination with melody that pervaded previous scuba material to a new level.

killekills next release comes from snuff crew, a crew you might and should have heard about. snuff crews mission is to bring back the fun on the dancefloors worldwide. the masked duo is known for their jacking live shows that combine the raw energy of early chicago and acid house with a fresh and modern sound. rumour has it that they come from >somewhere in germany<, but their sounds draw a very heavy influence from the original acid house city of chicago alongside italo-disco and old school techno flavours. the use of old school roland boxes as sound sources and almost non existent use of even basic effects means their sound is rough, raw and aimed squarely at the dancefloor. their records have been released on labels like skylax, gigolo records, rush hour, playhouse and many more, but the two guys also run their own imprint called snuff trax where they release music of jackmates like kink and neville watson as well as their own tracks and collaborations with artists such as legendary robert owens. thats enough for now with the name dropping. killekill has got a lot of great exclusive material from the guys but decided to release only two very strong and distinctive tracks for now: domo on the one side is a proper acid monster that will go down on dancefloors worldwide like a hurricane and leave the dancers breathless. eat this on the other side is a rudimentary chicago jack track that might well have been taken off a dance mania record from 1992. this track is working its way with nothing but a few drum tracks and a vocal sample and is pure raw sexual energy.

fade to mind is a both a record label and a movement, a series of club nights and cooperative projects in music, visual art, video and apparel. led by los angeles based kingdom, fade to mind is an injection of the personal back into contemporary club music. sparked by kingdoms longstanding relationships with dallas dj/producer prince william, la-based nguzunguzu and total freedom, as well londons night slugs collective (to which fade to mind will operate as a sister label), fade to mind marks a dramatic genesis of collaboration between the uk and american undergrounds.

our favorite guys from athens return to we are after some time, and with some super tight beats as well! fact of the matter is, that we for this one occasion chose to go with a full 12 inch instead of our standard club tracks 12 inch format simply because we needed all these three tracks to fit – good job! already passed the floor-test at many clubs and people are really feeling this superglued tightly produced rhythms mixed with old school disco house, they are held back and sneaky, and at the same time accesible and open to groove – just the way we like it!

modernista make a very welcome return after dropping their now classic debut 12 on us last year the architect of that raw late 80s machine music homage, paul bennett is back in charge here one of pauls formative influences during his youth was the music made by the first wave of techno producers from detroit. this release attempts to bring back some of the drama and pure funk of that sound. electronic music for the head, heart and feet. immaculately programmed maydayesque drum machines, emotive & expansive pitch bent synths, thundering low frequencies and clanks galore. this is a supercharged rewiring of the detroit blueprint in three startlingly well executed flavours.

hailing from the usa, boston ma, kon has been djing internationally alongside some of the worlds best djs as well as releasing several comps/edits on londons bbe label (kings of series/ off track vols 1-3 along with his vinyl collecting friend amir ) you may have heard his 1/2 hour multi-track remix mix for gilles peterson world wide show on bbc radio 1 a few months back … well here kon makes his debut dance release on the hands of time gold imprint. handling the production and arrangement, kon gives us the original version as well as a dub, pairing of samples and original music he utilizes a very clever 1 bar vocal sample from multi track stems as well as live session players (his gang) to get his vision across. with its punchy drums & warm, feel good vibes ... its a perfect affair for winding down this summer.

jazzanova lands on wurst! early dj support comes from soul clap, radio slave, dimitri from paris, ewan pearson, sebo k, rob mello and slow hands. weve done the unthinkable, scored the unimaginable, and wrangled none other than jazzanova (!) for an über-limited one-sided vinyl-only release. while >i can see< feat ben westbeech came out a few years back, filippo moscatellos most excellent disco version never saw the light of day - until now, of course. doesnt much more sunshine-filled and soul-drenched than this stellar take on the esteemed berlin collectives original, and we are both honored and humbled to get to work with both jazzanova and their label sonar kollektiv, and of course filippo himself, on this very special release. filippo moscatello started to produce music in 1994 under the dj naughty moniker, and has since gone on to work with labels like gigolo, eskimo, and moodmusic to name but a few, releasing the artist albums disco volante (gigolo) and pagliaccio (moodmusic), as well as the acclaimed compilation, one naughty night in berlin (eskimo). in addition to his production work, filippo maintains a club residency at cookies in berlin called luv dancin where hes played along special guests like moodymann, jerome sydenham, ata, bottin and loud e.

barcelona-born rainer grew up in california, but it was his move to london in 2007 which led him to start collaborating with cesare vs disorder, playing out around town and beginning his production career with the popular >neuralgia< under his belt. the obvious next step for him was to hitch his wagon onto the well-traveled route onto berlin where he now presents his second release on cesares serialism records. >x-berg to san diego<, a production in conjunction with the labels head honcho, a paean to his newly adopted stomping ground and the town of his youth. a tough house beat leads with a funky guitar picking out groove along the way, an oscillating vocal hovering into earshot as old-school snares jack it up.

new year deal - purveyors of maximal minimalism in bass music, crushington explore the mid-tempo soundworld of dubstep. inspired to step outside of their box by a face-melting new years eve performance from skream and benga, for the last two years, crushington have sonically sculpted their own, well-received take on dubstep. lacking a developed knowledge of the genre, their unaffected explorations into different tempos and grooves have caught ears everywhere, leading to dj support from n-type, jakes, emalkay, distance, seven, truth, bulletproof, datsick, excision, hatcha and headhunter. along the way, they have collaborated with, or remixed for black sun empire, spl, truth, optimus gryme and bulletproof. with high profile support and collaborations boiling over left right and centre and several boutique vinyl releases to their credit, dj bookings across new zealand and australia have come quickly and to lauded receptions. old school producers and djs from the era of vinyl and by ear engineering, their sonic fidelity has seen their crushington tunes described by the likes of antiserum as the perfect studio mixdown reference. to put it in simpler terms, crushingtons subwoofer rupturing arrangements are fast becoming a standard setter with in the international dubstep community, where things go next from here though, only time will tell.

after only just recently raising our glasses to our 50th upon you release, heres number 51 just waiting in the bleachers…so basically we are on our way to number 100. our italian friends re-up have rustled up this very promising release called >the new mood ep<. why the name ? i hear you ask. well these two tech-house experts have dug deep to give us a1 with its ecstatic drum rolls in >darkness< , a2 gives us the title track with its dubby-chordy kind of sound, like magically pulling the reins on an indian horse. >what else< they ask themselves on b1 while they gallop over the uy parcour to end this little journey with >so good< on b2.

this 12 inch with remixes from popnoname, korablove, gorje hewek and khz is a tribute to moscows synth pop and new wave shooting star pompeya. the bands music sounds so fresh and well produced that we couldnt not notice and thus we had our pro-tez artists remix it for your listening pleasure. as a result we are proud to present a remix single which offers a house, a disco, a dub and a synth pop version of the original hit >90<. pompeyas music might be compared to musical styles of death cab for cutie and postal service but it has their exhilarating original sound to it. we present a killer remix single from the forthcoming album >tropical<. listen!
