patrick weblin gives us this very special ep. 2 original tracks named after his 2 sons, so a lot of time and heart has gone into making this ep with a superb remix from iuly.b. “tadhg’s groove” give us solid house drums, percs and hats but its the pads and bassline that gives it the movement throughout the track, taking you to another level of space and conscious. iuly.b’s remix is down right tasty. it takes you on a little trip and makes you loose track of time all while grooving to this great remix. “ollie’s groove” is something a bit special, big 909 kick combined with 808 tops but this time some melodic synths add a very soulful and elegant sound.
last days debut, sea told the story of one man s journey. now with his 5th album, seafaring , graham richardson returns to the sea to examine a range of vocations and exploits adrift. drawing inspiration from shipping routes, to ernest shackleton and his crew s ill-fated voyage on the endurance, to families being disjointed and reunited, seafaring goes some way to hint at what the oceans present to us. seafaring reflects on it s subject matter by coherently linking moments that are minimal and still, to those that are compelling and cinematic.

during the last ice age glaciers slowly carved away the landscape creating mineral rich sediment. for hundreds of thousands of years melt water carried this fine-grained sediment downstream to parts of north america. in some areas strong winds carried this sediment and deposited it forming a network of ridges and dunes. these deposits of loose silty wind-blown, or aeolian, sediment are called loess. flash forward to the present, and the duo of clay emerson and ian pullman may seem to have gone the way of the glaciers and all but disappeared. instead, their signature loose aural silt has been slowly and methodically accumulating and now makes up their new full-length pocosin. others may have no point of reference and pocosin is a welcome introduction to the sound of loess, in a mere blink of an eye from when they began.
limited clear vinyl with download code included.

in 2006, tim arndt released the first near the parenthesis album “go out and see”. arndt had intended to follow up that release with a more beatless ambient album, where percussion was left to the side and composition took center stage. a shelved idea that we now get the benefit of a full ten years later. this new album helical is the realization of arndt s stripped down ambient concept. helical features arndt’s characteristic experimental modem classical instrumentation and compositional style, but slows things down and stretches them out. the focus on the organic is clear, but moments of ethereal breath weave in and out and prevent the album from becoming too self aware. helical, as a loose reference to the geometric structure of our very dna and it contains themes that are driven by a recent discovery of arndt’s past and ancestry. the release seamlessly stitches all of these concepts together and marks an unique release and new direction for arndt’s near the parenthesis.

reversed is the fourth album from french composer / sound designer franck zaragoza and his ever-expressive ocoeur nom de plume. the opening swell and passionate piano that precedes it sets the tone for what could very well be zaragoza s most personally ardent set of compositions to date. zaragoza thoughtfully augments his modern solo piano compositions with creative, some might even say organic, sound design and meticulous melancholic string harmonies. reversed is without a doubt a truly personal listening experience meant to be absorbed again and again.
mood 24 brings you the first in a limited vinyl only series in the form of mood series. each track has its own story to tell from artists silat beksi, gorbani, herck, leparente. *secret circle* from silat beksi has a very minimal feel, simplistic drums, repetitive groove combined with spacey atmospheric pads and synths. gorbanis track *the jaw* is more drum and percussion oriented with subtle fx shots and and groovy sub bass. hercks *gura sada* is very atmospheric, lots of organic noises. but its that main synth that gets you moving which the entire track is built around. *flashback* from leparente is deep and groovy, pieced together with a wicked bassline and main synth/pad that you can feel in your soul. ears open, this is just the beginning.....
coinciding with the one hundredth anniversary of one of the most surprising works by contemporary icon franz kafka, the metamorphosis (1915), reeko celebrates the novella or adult fairy tale with his own reinterpretation of kafkas controversial narration. the author offers a first person account of the protagonist gregor samsas transmutation, a human just like any other, with a grey, predictable and routine existence. pressing on translucent vinyl.
ocoeurs latest album a parallel life finds franck zaragoza showcasing his adeptness at fusing thoughtfully crafted melodies with twitchingly syncopated techno. in a recent interview berlin music portal kultmucke introduced zaragoza something of an idm prodigy and while thats a fair summation due to his preference for malleable beatwork and his use of heavily processed field recordings there is more there than simple glitchery. zaragozas melodies, while often shrouded in hazes of static, affect the cinematic minimalism of modern composition. these such comparisons put him stylistically hovering somewhere between the likes of arovane and max richter which is no meager feat. a parallel life aches, breathes, pulsates and is forever churning. it has a subliminal soul that is all too often a casualty of electronic music of this style. the vinyl lp includes a download code.
n5md is proud to present fall into fire, the new lp from dag rosenqvist. fall into fire is rosenqvists first album since the self-inflicted conclusion to his jasper tx nom de plume in 2013 with the stunning an index of failure lp (handmade birds). while no longer veiled behind a moniker rosenqvist fittingly presents his most personal and arrestingly raw release to date. there are threadbare echoes of loss, fleeting moments of rage, and a restless undercurrent of remorse that rosenqvist presents with few concessions. fall into fire finds rosenqvist at his most achingly radiant while displaying some of the most contrastingly vast passages of any of his discography. fall into fire was mastered for maximum dynamics, all perceived silence is intentional. the vinyl lp includes a download code.
gray hoodie is the debut album from french musician / composer elise mélinand. the album, written in berlin then sequentially recorded throughout various locations in france, was initially inspired by the techniques she was exposed to after being recruited as part of christina vantzous (kranky / the dead texan) little prism ensemble. her newly adapted recording and composition tool, the laptop, is undeniably the norm today. however, it allowed mélinand to better visualize her compositions while experimenting with techniques that gray hoodie so skillfully showcases. crafted by mélinand to tell a story of a friend who gave her a gray hoodie one cold evening. this gray hoodie was a symbol of their friendship and this album is said by mélinand to be *a way to thank him for everything he gave me*. gray hoodie showcases mélinand s childlike voice and legato string work juxtaposed over frenetic experimental beat-work all injected into ten cinematic vignettes that exude the comfort and warmth of a sweatshirt on a cold day.
n5md in conjunction with uwe zahn aka arovane has welded together an all new album comprising of tracks from as far back as 2002 and as recent of spring 2013. despite the different time periods in which the tracks were created the album sounds as if it was made in the same era/headspace and is very much in the stylistic vein of arovanes din releases. zahns ever stretching yet lurching swing-time beats envelop his signature less-is-more melodies like never before. ve palor is here, arovane is back! comes as limited edition 140g 2x12 lp plus download card (incl. three bonus tracks not available on the cd / lp).
superb ep featuring some of the best and most sought-after floor-friendly cuts from soul legend ben e king. kicking off the party is the 12 inch promo version of *street tough* from 1981. written by the late great willie hutch in 1981, this acclaimed cut oozes class with backing vocals from luther vandross and ullanda mccullough and great sax and is a superb introduction to mr kings smooth vocal style. another promo version follows in the shape of *music trance*, a slick upbeat disco-styled number packed with jazzy horns and funky guitar licks. on the b-side, we have a fantastic edited long version of parts 1 and 2 of the immense 1975 crossover smash *supernatural thing* - over seven minutes of super-sexy low-slung chugging floor-burning funk at its very best. finally, we have *spoiled*, another killer rare groove cut from 1978 with wonderful backing vocals. great chance to own mr. kings funkiest moments on one slab of loud-pressed 12 inch vinyl.

elastic dreams, a new label for 2011, bringing out no-hype, no bullshit, deep and warm electronics. music for the mind, as well as the feet, expect to hear techno, ambient, new-beat and other frequencies over coming releases with music coming from nyra, skudge, md2 and a sagittariun. debut release here from a sagittariun, with remixes from md2 aka mike dehnert. a sagittariun looks up to the constellations to bring the first release on elastic dreams the circle stops somewhere is a simple groove with a sweet and melodious synth riff that comes alive throughout the track, some have made comparisions to ames classic rej, whilst not really in that league, circle maintains the dynamic pace with powerful 909 patterns whilst keeping a nice warm analogue vibe. telepathic heights is a brooding, percussive experience with a growling bass riff and enveloping keys with sci-fi elements to its composition. md2 (aka mike dehnert/fachwerk) comes good on the remixes on the flip side. his mello mix is a disjointed and muscular groove that rips apart the original synth riff, and bends and warps it over solid md2 beats to make a real low-slung funky workout. md2s hard mix does what it says on the tin, a relentless bass booming groove and spongy use of the originals samples, this is md2 at his very best!
lets start with the italian ilario alicante and his dj-mix to get the immediate scoop of what makes this guy so special: we cannot describe it other than saying this mix rules! strong but relaxed at the same time with a good variation and xxl deepness in the selection makes this mix a great house-excursion. this is the sound of hot summer nights and happy people dancing til the morning. you can imagine this very special summer party vibe while listening to ilarios mix which incorporates the right elements such as emotional piano-breaks, cool vocal-samples, kicking house-beats and hypnotic basslines.
