fresh on francis harris kingdoms imprint comes rasmus junckers ‘ophold - six tracks of sublime atmospheres and textures. the danish musician, sound composer and dj fits perfectly with the labels aesthetic, joining the dots between ambient, leftfield electronica and modern classical. juncker has a background in studying jazz drumming and has been playing improvised music within the jazz domain for many years. he also started to dj at the age of 14 and was introduced to the world of electronic music production at the same time. when rasmus started to think about his debut album he spent several months trying to find his own way to combine his favourite musical influences, improvisation, electronics and classical music. almost a year later, juncker says, i went to a sensory deprivation floating tank in copenhagen while researching for another performance and while i was lying there, floating in the water, deprived from most of my senses, i got the idea to do something drastic in my musical process. philosophers like immanuel kant describe this deprived state as a mental cesura, which became some sort of guideline for the album.

yagyas rigning album from 2009 is the icelandic producer s most acclaimed dub, techno and minimal masterpiece. due to popular demand, delsin are now re-issuing it across three slabs of vinyl. previously only available as a double pack with eight tracks, the new re-mastered version features all 10 of the tracks from the original cd. gumundsson has been making music for years both solo and as part of the thule musik collective. he is an album specialist who has worked as yagya since 2002 and has put out six albums since then. they come on labels like force inc and sending orbs where rigning was first released and manage to be both absorbing and detailed yet suitable for relaxing background listening. his last two albums, sleepygirls (2014) and stars & dust (2016) appeared on delsin records. rigning is essentially one long track split into movements. it depicts a city sleeping as gentle rain falls and dubbed out grooves zone you out. yagyas style is always patient and slow burning, his grooves are long and drawn out and his pads reach up into the heavens. this whole album in coated in a warm fuzz and is a real comfort on dark, long, cold nights. as insular and melancholic as it is, there is also plenty of beauty in the melodies and delicate keys. from dark and gloomy to more optimistic and meditative, there is a sophistication throughout this always cinematic album that continues to make it stand out nearly a decade after it was first released.

deep space techno electro on trust celebrating the labels year xx. /dl/ms/ is the viennese duo behind recent frustrated funk outing, omakuda, last years trust29, rogue intent, as well as one of the most-played electro tracks of 2017 - their remix of second storeys attack of the modlings. exit ghosts takes the /dl/ms/ sound far into haunted new orbits, trading some of its earthy rumble for more ethereal emanations. stark and sombre bass signals return, but find themselves enveloped in delicately threaded string anomalies, copious amounts of melodic ectoplasm, and spirit-like liquid funk dilutions. vinyl 12inch contains three locked grooves and ships in new trust xx color sleeves.

making his debut on the label, spanish producer kuo climax is welcomed to the hot creations fold. a solid two track release that has already been heating up dancefloors across the globe, the talented artist showcases his distinct style and proves why he is hotly tipped for 2018. the ep opens up with whyte, a pulsating track with a warped bassline and oozing synths. two and a half minutes deep it disperses into a breakbeat-esque breakdown that dives back into the familiar 4/4 beat. title track nacrem is a smooth roller with an underpinning bass and intergalactic vocal stabs. the ep highlights the spanish producer’s ability to bring balance to his output, providing music perfectly attuned for the floor. born in malaga and now residing in barcelona, kuo climax has released on respected labels such as knee deep in sound, solid grooves and viva music. 2018 will see the producer launch his own vinyl-only imprint, lfofl, that aims to recognise the progress in technology without losing the essence of true dance music.

next up on dabj, hissman aka fabio monesi is an artist we have been massive fans of since we started playing nobodys talking which featured on our 2014 dabj bbc radio 1 essential mix a few years back. through his labels hardmoon and wilson records, he has brought some of the freshest jams to our ears in quite some time. for his first outing on dabj, shit gets real. masterfully crafted mechanized, rough, tough techno belters in that inimitable hissmanstyle... dont sleep on this.

field of dreams are field theorys chris kentish and dj al mackenzie. field theory have recently had tracks on respected labels such as futureboogie and secret life gaining rave reviews and even garnering plays on bbc radio 6 music. al has been a dj since the late 80s, now resident at birminghams great outdoors. he s made numerous records over the years but will probably be remembered primarily for his 90s band d:ream making number one all over the world and remixing for emf and duran duran amongst others. bumping into each other in the street one dayand realising they lived opposite each other, they seized upon the chance to combine their favourite passions, making music and drinking.
