this album originates from 2015 and was only issued on an extremely limited edition (only 250 copies) and became a highly sought after cd (now reissued). “life in moments” is classic melodic weirdness from the minds of fsol - this vinyl release in new lp sleeve in a black border contains an additional track “sonata andantino” not on the original cd.

la based independent experimental techno label halocyan, returns with an outstanding ep from toby leeming aka the third man (ai records, sunday best, tabernacle records, chaval records) koffi is a hypnotic driving techno track. red boxing a low swung deep bass techno / house groove. closing the ep repeater is a deep melodic detroit techno jam. a strong ep from the young london based artist which proves he has a bright future ahead of him. 180g cyan blue 12inch vinyl with laser-etched tracklist in double sleeves and a deluxe pvc wallet with flap. the outer sleeve is embossed with die cut over-sized centres, 2 spot uv stickers and a cyan metallic foil stamp.

this initial release on the new futurepast label marks davy’s first output as a producer, crystallizing his endeavours in the studio and bearing witness to his long-standing experiments in electronic music. built between london and berlin over the last four years, the long now lays down the blueprints for following ventures on the label: using old and new gear to create unique, obscure soundscapes both outside of memory and away from nostalgic projections of lost futures. in a timeless and precise collaboration, davy has brought together two historical figures for this release: 1990s r&s records associate david morley mixed the tracks, while simon davey of the exchange lent his renownedmastering skills to the project. temporality, time travel and perception are key concepts for davy, and not only in the ep’s title. the four stripped-down tracks move forwards, sidewards and backwards in a bid to get us lost – not in space but in what time might sound like should we be swimming through it. mysterious and ageless synths mesh with the beats of an unnamed drum machine under davy’s control. we move through a non-linear story told by three distinct forward-thinking techno titles: no memories planned, circular weeks and causal loop. finally, the titular ambient track pans out cinematically over the images left in our heads: an invitation to begin it all again in the long now...

possession records proudly present the new album by soft riot, entitled -the outsider in the mirrors-. soft riot is the stylised musical alter-ego of jjd, canadian by birth and an ex-resident of london and sheffield, now based in glasgow (so not unfamiliar with sites of post-industrial decay!). with over twenty years of playing in various post-punk and synth-punk bands, he has been crafting the sound of soft riot since the early turn of the decade, releasing a slew of albums across a multitude of labels and touring obsessively around europe and beyond. with -the outsider in the mirrors-, his sixth full-length, he has found a new home for his sound on possession records, a fledgling glasgow imprint founded by jjd, claudia nova (aka hausfrau) and andy brown (ubre blanca). their aim is to bring together their pool of musical talents and provide a more permanent home for their future creative endeavours, whether it be music, video or otherwise and to experiment with what it is to be a -label- in the ever evolving 21st century. future projects and releases will see them getting a select group of their peers and friends involved in possession s focused vision, locally or from further afield.

room ii records is a new imprint run by two brothers based in london, which focuses on giving a platform to up and coming artists. ‘the black ep’ is the first in the series.
kicking off the series are three tracks by tr all varying in style and technique. soft pads and playful keys bounce along a grooving bassline on ep and every future summer set opener ‘fantasia’. ‘ub city’ is made up of field recordings taken from a recent trip tr made to india last summer. the flip side shifts again culminating in a live drum breakdown that’s supported by a subtle, acidic bass line - ‘10am acid jam’ is an outright dancefloor weapon.

fabled uk producer and fine purveyor of original west london future-jazz, nubian mindz a.k.a alpha omega a.k.a colin lindo provides us with counter002 - >ghost dreams<, including a rare dubwise remix from dutch hero aardvarck. a straight up jam in lindos trademark crisp and tough outboard sound, >new me< is a shining synth beauty. our pal aardvarck reworked it with his 1991-reinforced >sun & moon mix< - delivered over skype from bali and totally worth the several weeks it took to transfer.. for those new-age digital customers >capricorn one< keeps things in check with a heavy hypnotic cut.

soooo here we are with the tenth and final release, thought it would be nice to finish on a nice zen like number, so this is a extra special release kind of a mini lp almost -opened up by fx mchn flush the trush is an intro to the comp and a reverse funk skittish affair next up is new man on the block for us here we been sitting on a collection of his tracks but felt this one complemented this ep the most, ecco foul, gloss is a sleazy machine groove that does t do much but thats just the way we like it .then comes mr facade with his jerky funk sweet surprises and warm melodies. the b side is opened by another newcomer from running back record hugh mane new age dawns whose track come s deep and wide open has to be heard on the headphones as well as the club jamie blanco s chord arrangments get opened up and spaced out by lht office boy toby tobias in a detroitesque ditty thats been used to open a few sets in 2015 already and finally alphonse delivers an out and out machine jam with the usual dub influence brought in vocal fashion.

jesse calosso is a bronx-born dj and producer, part of a tight clique of new york artists that includes such luminaries as the martinez brothers and filsonik. 2015 has been a busy year for him. not only has he completed a mix-tape style album as masters at dutch with the martinez brothers and blas cordero, but also his tracks serving size and whatever right now appeared on the tuskegee ep the come up vol 1. he has dj-d at output in brooklyn, circoloco in ibiza and at seth troxlers acid future party in london to name but three. now, he releases a brand new four-track ep called the incoming on cutting headz.

crimes of the future is a new label from timothy j fairplay & scott fraser, and follows on from their night of the same name at the berkeley suite, glasgow and in plastic people, london. timothy and scott both work out of andrew weatheralls basement bunker studio on scrutton street and are part of a group of djs becoming known as the scrutton street axis. timothy is also one half of the asphodells with andrew weatherall who released their first album *ruled by passion, destroyed by lust* this year on rotters golf club.

after 20 superb 12 inch single releases over five and half years in the game, uk label, 2nd drop, is proud to present its first compilation, future foundations, featuring a mixture of established artists who have graced the label previously, alongside a handful of exciting new acts generating some serious hype on the scene right now. this compilation is the first of many that will bear the future foundations title. we have assigned each 12 inch with a number, *foundation 1, foundation 2* and so on, viewing these chunks of superb music as the foundations of an on-going, multi-layered aural concept that will document the rich and varied output of the label and its artists for the foreseeable future.
