elizabeth merrick-jefferson is one of those artists who seem low-key. theres not a lot of information about her, if any, except for the existence of the first two records and a lone interview. one released in 2013 and the other in 2014. listening to either record tells you her music might be a lot of things, but low-key isnt one of them. powerful and colourful, direct, and with 313 references embedded in its dna, she pulls it off with style. elizabeths third record is no exception. it has found its home on our mothership label, burek. three happiness is tailor-made for the dance floor. it wont leave anyone with a pulse standing. playful synths, wonderful strings, and infectious groove make it impossible to ignore. knowledge revolution is layered and paced, painting a somewhat different picture. melancholy and a sense of mystery envelop this track, whose leitmotif vocal appears just frequently enough to provide insight into the title. the last track of this ep is fittingly titled noctilucent clouds. its a drumless track with a rhythmic main synth counterpointed by sounds which give off the impression of clouds shining through the darkness of winter nights. another amazing release from burek.

2016 saw him release �the clay ep� (with *that* physical graffiti tune) on new york�s seminal imprint mister saturday night as well as a track for a dirt crew recordings compilation. having recently remixed clap! clap!�s �hope�, jun kamoda�s debut for black acre is set for release in june.
infectious licks and raw drums come together to form �blind disco�, an animated production that blends a cacophony of samples into a raucous party jam. �ramen funk� is a moodier cut by comparison, featuring a medley of percussive elements, vibrant guitar melodies and a seedy bassline, until �savanna on the palm� chops up and loops a wailing vocal sample before leading into echoing chords and a twisted groove in a mesmerising conclusion.

coast to coast vividly presents the many faces of belgian producer and dj peter van hoesen. example in case: the title track is a no-holds-barred epic synthesizer composition, recorded at the producer s handwerk audio synthesizer studios. van hoesen s love for widescreen synthesis comes clearly to the fore on this track. it is a beautiful showcase of how techno can be emotive, driving and muscular, all at the same time. entrance to entropic city takes a different path, opting for a much more abstract narrative. shunning away from the dancefloor, it chooses to hint at concepts hidden below its sonic surface. voodoo benny s wishbone takes the listener deep into hypnotic and percussive breakbeat territory. menacing synth sweeps coil around the drums while a polyrhythmic groove shows off its tension, six minutes long. finally, in empire in decline - 2017 dub van hoesen reworks his 2008 classic. shuffling breakbeats form a new base for empire s bouncing synth lead.

for the fourth release of hello sailor recordings, boss lady renata do valle curated the sounds of fatnotronic and joutro mundo, two of brazil s major disco forces, to collaborate on the project, featuring edits from gretchen super sexy and tudao from banda black rio. the new versions deliver a longer and punchier bass line and a groove that got extended to satisfy our ears and resulting in a dance floor-minded record, faithful to its original brilliance.

secretsundaze are proud to announce the second 12 in the dance 2017 series. the ep is once again a 3 tracker this time featuring the highly-promising emerging talents of dj slyngshot, bastien carrara and jayson wynters. dj slyngshot hailing from offenbach near frankfurt has had tongues wagging with three hot 12s on his own imprint yappin records and received club and radio play by the likes of omar s, floating points, ben ufo and jon rust. his contribution to the a side of dance 2017 part 2 sees him on fine form with the devastating rhythm of hygh-tech . kicking off with a rough and ready groove the hook is a gnarly nagging synth line that will worm its way into your brain. add a sampled wailing diva and some more jazzy interludes and you have a festival-ready high grade bomb on your hands! on the flip steps up france s bastien carrara. his dusty jams on the likes of rawthenticity and funkineven s apron imprint caught our attention and we roped him in for a track. here he presents the charming, breezy and breaky that time again . warm, atmospheric and groovy this is definitely one for long summer nights ahead. last up jayson wynters represents the uk! jayson made his debut on none other than mr g s phoenix g. imprint with the sub-aquatic unfamiliar territories ep. he is an amazing dj and selector able to play house / techno sets and also jazz, boogie, disco and funk sets where required at the likes of brilliant corners. chi kung is a bubbling, mystical percussive number with hand played drums and a perfect closer to the ep.

transit records 005, -without end hours�, comes loaded with phat, but definitely distinct dancefloor bangers that take the title of the ep quite literally. they cover a full night (and day) out in the club, and range from dark, technoish house (�when your groove is mine-), over uplifting re-interpretations of classic house anthems (-without end hours-), and dystopian tech-house (negativ dekadent remix), through to sizzling after hour house (zuckermann remix). ryoma sasaki�s originals show his love for classic electronic music blueprints and how he is able to turn them creatively into something compellingly fresh and contemporary. it feels like listening (and dancing) to something you know, but not from the past, more so from the now. and while they wonderfully work in that now of the night, negativ dekadent turns this familiar feeling into an uneasiness with the future, only to make you forget about it in the abyss of his beats and overwhelming synth patterns just before the morning breaks. finally, zuckermann fully beams you into the slightly distorted new world you might find yourself in anyway at 11 am on a beautiful sunny morning on one of those (berlin) dancefloors.
