it’s been four years since eglo records fatima’ released 2014’s blue note-approved, critically acclaimed debut “yellow memories”. this september, the london- via -stockholm, sweden songstress, returns with her second album, “and yet it’s all love” — an emotional, yet entertaining trip through the full cycle of a romantic relationship, told in fatima’s now-familiar soulful style. the double lp release comes with 2 vinyl-exclusive tracks: “dang” (a1) and “may i” (a2).

tessellate is back for a second round and this time they are bringing out some heat from turkey via aleksandir. the a side features two club ready tracks, starting with a euphoric and emotional journey by the name of yamaha. following that belgium’s asa moto slow things down and provide a wild and trippy acidic remake of the original.
flip the record over and you’ve got yourself some heavy chillers. dreams is a really dreamy (!) piece of work that is guaranteed to leave you relaxed. friend of tessellate seb wildblood steps up next to do what he does best and provide a lovely remix of the og. finally we close things off with deeptrak, which as the name suggests is a deep track.

a re-mastered re-release of fatima yamaha s debut album from last year. 180grams ... fatima yamahas first release a girl between two world (2004), including the masterpiece what s a girl to do has been lingering since it first came out. the story of what s girl to do is nearly as brilliant as the song itself. it took almost a decade until the world acknowledged the tracks brilliance. after being sampled by hudson mohawke on his 2015 album lantern and much demand, it is finally been reissued on magnetron music alongside dekmantel

kalbata has turned his hand to many styles over the years, not least the excellent soundsystem explorations of congo beat the drum, but on this second release for his label brush & broom, he s decided to fling himself into the fiery pit of acid while paying tribute to 90s motocross bikes. honda is dripping with 303, punctuated by a twitchy set of drums, while yamaha takes a diversion into moodier territory, letting hazy chords set the tone for an energised but defiantly heads down acid workout. suzuki is a bit spicier, capturing the essence of up-for-it early trax records but edging it into more hypnotic, looped up territory. toyota finishes the ep off with an atonal bleep out with an electro undercarriage

repress - brainwaltzeras debut lp poly-ana follows quickly on the heels of the producers aescoba ep also released this year via film. across thirteen tracks of both previously released material and fresh excursions into the artists world, brainwaltzera explores sounds ranging from luscious, downtempo grooves and expertly reduced braindance cuts with nods to early 90’s experimental idm to harder, more caustic outings all bound together by a recurring theme of otherworldly ambience. taking its name from a variety of sources dear to the artist, including polyphonic analogue synthesizers and the pol-lyanna principle itself a theory that suggests individuals recall pleasurable experience more acutely than displeasing ones the title represents a meeting point in the artistic process between creative method and conceptual choices. production techniques range from more traditional hardware synthesis to the incorporation of a modified dot matrix printer acting as a modulation source for midi parameters. sample sources include vhs material from the produ-cer’s own childhood and ambient bullet train samples from an on-the-fly production session traveling from tokyo to kyoto. according to the enigmatic producer, memory and its fundamental role in the human experience is one of the central themes of the record. while the artists own experiences shaped the sound of the record, there is no attempt to impose them on the listener through blatant exposition.
