ok computer wurde ursprŸnglich am 21. mai 1997 veršffentlicht, in deutschland kam das album mit etwas verspŠtung drei wochen spŠter auf den markt. das von nigel godrich produzierte werk beinhaltet songs wie -paranoid android-, -karma police-, -lucky- sowie -no surprises- und gilt damit als der gro§e klassiker der bandgeschichte. mit -ok computer- feierten radiohead nicht nur ihren endgŸltigen durchbruch, sondern auch ihre erste nummer 1 in den britischen albumcharts. zum zwanzigsten geburtstag veršffentlichen radiohead das gute stŸck erneut, allerdings in einer aufgebohrten jubilŠumsedition. auf -ok computer - oknotok 1997-2017- befinden sich neben den originalsongs acht b-seiten-stŸcke sowie drei tracks, die bei den damaligen sessions entstanden, aber bislang unberŸcksichtigt blieben. das komplette material wurde aufwŠndig aus den alten analogen aufnahmen remastered und dŸrfte fan-herzen im 3/8-takt schlagen lassen.

with ÈredsuperstructureÇ, robert lippok created a new foundation for his musical endeavors. now Ð 7 years later Ð this system properly comes to life on Èapplied autonomyÇ. the title of the new album is a clear indicator as to what the berlin-based producer has been up to during the last couple of years, both on a conceptual level as well as how he molds his ideas into tracks. Èapplied autonomyÇ orchestrates a certain state of frantic standstill, which occurs once a structure is set. has this state been reached, the artist is free to focus on other equally important aspects, balancing the various shades, pushing ideas even further to really make them shine and blossom in their self-declared autonomy. the more light one lets in, the more layers become visible. layers are key when it comes to understanding Èapplied autonomyÇ. big chunks of the material with which the album has been produced derive from sketches specifically made for a club performance. rather than meticulously devising each and every detail, lippok focussed instead on recording as many fragments as possible in a short period of time, elements which he could later combine and layer on stage. based on this material and his experience experimenting with it in a live environment, the album slowly began to shape. an album culminating in a collaboration with klara lewis, with whom lippok spent 2 days at the ems studios in stockholm, approaching the idea of autonomy from yet another angle. during the session, both musicians played and performed simultaneously, yet not explicitly together, lost in their own thoughts and ideas, only subconsciously taking in what the other one was coming up with. the result is ÈsamtalÇ, 14 minutes of a constantly evolving state of poise, magically connecting all the dots lippok had already defined as Èapplied autonomyÇ. the artwork for Èapplied autonomyÇ has been created by the berlin-based argentinian artist luca gutierrez. over the last couple of years, he has made a name for himself with his spectacular av performances.

damon wild and david sumner (aka functions) relationship dates back to 1991 at lord michaels future shock, limelight, new york city when damon was running experimental records via northcott productions. at the time, he first saw something in dave and added him to brand x, a record pool run by moneypenny. but their bond is based around a period 5 years later when dave had an apartment above rogue music at 251 west 30th street in midtown, manhattan. it was during this time damon developed him as a synewave artist and released his first ep as function in the fall of 1996 catalog number sw-24. falling in and out of touch over the years, across continents, the two have somehow remained on the same cosmic path. so itÕs not a coincidence that now damon has turned to dave to release his first album in 13 years, during the time he is reissuing that first synewave ep on recompiled i/ii & ii/ii (a-ton lp02/03). this is where those paths cross again. 21 years later, this fall, dave will release cosmic path on infrastructure. the cosmic connection.
