gera taraman is a ukrainian producer and designer who elegantly combines ultramodern sound design with burning grooves. raised in a family of music teachers, he chose another musical path with the help of the autechre, eno and ricardo villalobos records which determined the direction of his tech house and techno experiments. his absolutely beautiful analog recordings have a jazzy touch, excellent development of ideas, never ending melodies and chord progressions etc. >claws sharp< and >purpur< were produced in the ukrainian part of the carpathian mountains - at the very heart of nature results in an unconventionalmusicality that we miss in dance music these days. as for remixes, we have chosen the brilliant bruno pronsato and fumiya tanaka to skillfully remix gera s production. as a result, this synergy brings you four diverse, intelligent, philharmonic and minimalistic tracks.

fumiya tanaka has been regarded as one of the legendary dj/artists in techno over 20 years. he has been doing numerous projects such as his private label torema records, op.disc (co-running with yoshihiro hanno aka radiq), he run his own label called sundance and his famous party chaos (in tokyo and osaka). and through his long running career, he has been successfully expressing the possibilities of music. the long awaited full length album by fumiya tanaka.

the third ep of the trilogy works following the releases d6&d7 from sundance in 2012 and flying one hand from op.disc in 2015 comes this one. a) side is the unreleased dub version of the previously released same titled track. b) side is the fine interweave of radiqs percussion + fumiyas base/beat groove with soul vocals. the sound is different from the style of dirtriix works and the each has its distinctive own groove.

fumiya tanaka s double-tracker >beautiful town< was fully inspired by its cover artwork: a set of carefully selected old pictures with a layer of masterful signature paintings by romanian artist and fine-arts student bonjour bonsoir. a-sides >abacus avenue< is the ep’s most dense and eerie side. an addictive piece that utterly succeeds in sucking you right in like a vortex would. the locomotive bassline serves its purpose of movement in a strong loopy groove, while the pads and poltergeist y sounds reformat our heads with an inability for space-time tracking. the otherside of this town, >himegami marathon<, is another mysteriously intricate work. its a microcosm of grooves, sinister details and voices locked in a tight groove built on a single bass stab and a flowing, never-ending set of wet claps. a piano kicks in at key points, alongside percussive elements, reminding us that this town is alive.

a1 fur elodie is a cheapy guitar tune combined with the piano to form acoustic sound. other elements are also quite cheapy but sounds very good altogether as a confortable track. a very atmospheric tune to hypnotize people into fumiyas deeper side. the original version is on his album unknown 3 released in 2008. b1 ring bell is a track combined an acoustic loopy drum with a modular bass sound to form a kind of rare groove. a kind of chant starts coming in out at certain points to take you somewhere you have never been before. b2 dealer trick (short version) has got a kind of old school flavour and sounds quite like 90s house with fumiyas dirty, cheeky, and loopy groove. a trick for jack in the box

all tracks are from tanakas archive (2010-2015), which were produced since he had moved his base in berlin. the idea of the dj mixing with only his own tracks has been gestating for sometime and with his trials during his dj dates in europe, south america and japan the selection of the tracks and combination has been made. the thought process of mixing his own materials could be similar to preparing for his own live set. this recording was done at this home in berlin. all tracks has been released on 12inch vinyl (snd 06.07.08 on 2017) except track 6.
