aksutique is the moniker of matthias springer for his deep ambient techno, dub techno and downbeat productions. matthias has released several productions over the years, ranging from techno to chill out music under different names. the notch fields ep is the first vinyl release for aksutique and features 3 tracks of aquatic dub influenced deepness that sucks you right into its maelstrom of endless echoes, synth swirls, noises and reverberated chords. “echolot” for example is a pure intense submarine cinematographic infinite journey that takes you into the depths and never lets you free again. the record features an additional dark and electronic rework by valanx aka arne weinberg that drenches the original in eerie voices, electronic sounds and deep bass. not for the faint hearted.

next up on local talk we got a raw peak hour jam from liverpool producer dale howard (lost my dog, large, morris/audio, off rec). there is nothing light or fluffy about these tracks, its just dirty straight up house music with a dark 90s basement feel. for the main track we actually chose the dub version of throwback over of the original mix. we just thought this version was soooo freakin raw even though its more stripped than the original version. you’ll see what we mean when you drop it in the club! the second track in out goes along the same house theories as throwback with jackin beats and deep chords that will do wonders in any authentic house basement. all in all, a might fine release of classic local talk house music. enjoy!

the latest offering from san franciscos icee hot label finds the young imprint officially welcoming another artist to its gradually expanding roster. that said, contakt isnt exactly a stranger. the michigan-reared, new york-based producer is one of the founders and resident djs at brooklyns turrbotax® party, which has long been a sort of sister party to icee hot. contakt has previously released music for respected outposts like local action, grizzly, and dutty artz, but nobody else and tessera 04 find him taking an important step forward as an artist, delivering tunes that are richer and more really realized than anything from his past. particularly on nobody else, contakts flair for big-room melody remains intact, but he takes notes from classic kms, filling out the songs cresting synths with a full-bodied bassline, a hooky vocal sample and a sturdy rhythmic underpinning. tessera 04 goes deeper, channeling maurizio while delving headlong into a dense cloud of synths and maintaining a steady sense of forward momentum. on the flipside, icee hot resident ghosts on tape continues his recent hot streak, infusing nobody else with punchy drumwork and a potent rave sensibility. detroit legend robert hood then rounds out the release, transforming tessera 04 into a pulsing and purring slice of heady analog techno.

scott mou, known as one half of the duo jane – the folk techno drone duo he had with panda bear - aswell as part of manhattans famous record store other music, debuts with his soloproject queens. johan jacobsen describes the wonderful music of queens in oxymorons, colorful monochrome, myopic depth, sad joy, driven slowness, enlightened darkness, universal intimacy, ethereal earthboundness ... as it should be. queens is one of those wonderful artists who are hard to catch on the fly, who escapes easy definition. his music is an unexpected and unimagined universe ready to be explored, and it s a universe that is wonderful to be in. when dial records david lieske and peter kersten listened to a performance of their new york based friend in 2009, it was one of those unforgettable unique experiences you only have once in a long while these days. the idea of releasing an album was born. the production of end times involved other labelmates such as phillip sollmann aka efdemin (recording), kassian troyer (mixing) and hendrik weber, who once joined a life performance on stage with scott mou in 2012.

limitiert auf 150 stück und handnummeriert! ich mag musik nur wenn sie frickelt, könnte man klangscheiben unterstellen. ach was, echtes liebhabertun, was das label da seit jeher veranstaltet. so geht es wohl kaum konsequenter, als dass man zum 30. jubiläumsrelease mit einem proper vinyl die untenrum-funky- gemeinde beherzt & technoid in die arme nimmt. in zeiten wo mp3-stick & sync-button echte dj-kultur zu zerstören droht, ist das eine ansage bester güte zum medium nummer 1 in sachen Ästhetik der tonverewigung. anfassen, rühren, servieren, schmecken und wieder von vorn. mit dieser vÖ. tritt das label den beweis an, dass der zacki-schnipp sound, der einst irgendwie in einem großen fass von billig-fuselwodka mit dem etikett minimal ersoff, keine patina angesetzt hat. im gegenteil leute, das kommt wieder und besser. denn irgendwann hat es sich ausgedeephoust und ausgepopt mit billigedits und ringelreihebeats... ach nein, sie ist noch da, diese soundphilosophie, und hat sich, wie auch liebling ark immer wieder beweist, von überfüssigen schnick-schnack-gezischel-ambitionen befreit. so auch hier: raw, deep, dirty, mit vier kratzigen energiebatzen den floor zackig abfüllen. vier frisbee-scheiben, die aus den boxen gedreht kommen, als könne man sie nie auffangen. der kleine mann im ohr und kopf fängt sie aber bestens auf. mit besten empfehlungen: oliver goldt
