eric maltz is a producer from new york city and now resides in berlin, germany. he is a former employee of halcyon records from its og glory days in it s first location in red hook/carrol gardens areas of brooklyn. -eric provided a sofa to me often through-ought my 20 s and vice-versa, we both cared about music above all else- we lived and breathed music- and we helped each other survive when we were penniless - if one was up, so was the other... eric and i were roommates, friends, we looked out for each other in a rough city with tough rules. every time one of us got a job at a restaurant or record shop, within weeks we would have the other working there too. we did that for a decade. we slang records for years at halcyon- a shop on smith street which had a portrait of stevie wonder painted on the front facade- and we threw parties all around brooklyn back then too.. every shitty bar that would have us lol. we were a dope team. he s the only person who has ever touched the third rail on a subway and survived too! true story. so you know i couldn t wait to release his debut lp. proud of this guy- - levon vincent

swiss-based, jamaican producer ezikiel returns to cadenza for his another outing, this time dropping the tales of roots ep. with this new ep he demonstrates his flair for the musical side of club compositions, imbibing his productions with sultry atmospherics, deep emotion and organic keys and strings. the title track tales of roots is a 15-minute opus, which unravels slowly but surely, working from a soft yet persistent bassline and a hypnotic rhythm. samples of tribal singers add a distinct human element, entrancing you with their organic vibrations. as the voices continue to sing out you’re transported to a vibrant sub- saharan landscape, captivated by the irresistible guitar riff on the flip we have makha poetry, a more experimental workout with a variety of warped and twisted effects spluttering and wobbling away at its foundation. the jaunty yet slightly eerie low end gives this track a naughty allure, as those strange bleeps and whirrs continue to bounce in and out of the background. theres a controlled restraint about makha poetry which gives it a devastating simplicity and a very unique aesthetic.

the following three-tracker release is one of those that are about to take you on a very clear ride. we will start with some tensioning and rising loops and will keep you up while the swiftly vibes are getting to you. with the first composition on a side, alex won’t give you a break - it’s a one breath composition where you don’t have any time for a second thought. when it looks like both chunky bass and kicks are going away - a very sharp-shaped and acidy synth will remain on the watch and will ensure the continuously driving thrill. getting to the second part of this side, what can we say, straight from the beginning a thick bass line makes it’s introduction in order to lead you into some awakeness on a early morning on the dancefloor. stepping into the game, diferit on the remix for b side is bringing you a blend of both tracks you’ve heard before. very rich in vibrations of different spectres and proveniences - from very clear and clean kicks to a bouncy bass line to the very zippy and zappy sounds of his unique style. the pleasure of having these two minds behind the second release of aforisme is ours.

planet rhythm teams up with rotterdam techno operation th tar hallow and releases a collection of tracks by artists that have frequently appeared on the cult label. deep down westcoast electronics by respected artists such as klankman, charlton, labelboss thanos hana and rhyw. klankman opens up this 4-track va with the ominous “can not use that command on overlapping selections”. berlin based rotterdammer charlton follows up with the heavy arps and outgoing drums of “profiler”. thanos hana opens up the b side with the tough techno cut “the injury pattern” and berlin based rhyw- closes down the varied slice of vinyl with the moving “mkfbtb”.

10 yrs have passed since this one first hit stores. hud mo and mike slott were right in the middle of lively and formative beats scene that linked glasgow to dublin to london to l.a. to tokyo to vienna to sydney to. the myspace era. still a big tip on this one! 2007 press release: great new record by mike slott and hudson mohawke aka heralds of change. six productions with killer drums, fresh programming and clever vocal chops, going from banging boombap sort of tracks like work that, serious head-nodders like winery or asswank and deeper excursions like future or amuse. tip!

office recordings continues to surprise us. after baaz s techno-/ambient-hybrid on office 011 the label from berlin comes up with a stunning new and anonymous project called * one day* featuring four also unnamed tracks. the a-side of the record starts off with a with a superb deep techno track which tempts us with very emotional pads and a strong kick and bass fundament û an irresistible combination. a2 goes in the same direction but feels like the slightly mellower and softer brother of its predecessor û a little bit moody but still straightforward at the same time. the flip side is dedicated to two freestyle electronic tracks standing in the tradition of the best warp offerings from their heyday in the 90s. weÆre talking charming melodies and sparse but elaborate rhythmic patterns. the record comes in a hand stamped and with a lovely artwork also hand made by office art director super quiet. all tracks have been mastered and cut by sound engineering proficient pole at scape mastering.

swat s third release & detroit is in the house ! there are times in which you can clearly mark a producer s evolution. when they stop inching towards growth and make a bold statement of change in capability and vision. such is the case with this ep from detroit-based disco guru, pontchartrain. after a few years of steadily pushing out some significant pieces of work that have increasingly straddled the line between originals and edits, and nearly a decade of studio experience, his long overdue official house music debutante has arrived. featuring detroit local soul artist, coko buttafli laying down some blistering vocals with a clearly positive house music message, on top of live percussion and keys, and bold analog drum rhythms, pontch has created a solid diva-house gem. the sneaky festival-ready banger, loose , performed, mixed, and overdubbed live, provides some fantastic contrast and versatility to the release. a mr. g-esque remix by dj phenom just alexander and the musical journey of topher horn s evolving and deep version on the flipside make this a well rounded record that will undoubtedly stay in your bag for a good long while, and will find its way back in for years to come.

they share a similar taste for music, detroit techno. before they worked together, dennis experimented with deep house through digital synths and learned the ins and outs of programming music in logic.
stephan was well known with the detroit techno scene. his passion goes out to well balanced electronic music with hypnotizing emotional feeling to it. add a layer of atmospheric grooves on top of that and you have the perfect blend to potential timeless music.
soon enough they made the switch to analog gear to be able to create a cleaner and better sound. after three years of hard work, they have reached the sound they were looking for. and this is it!

million brazilians formed in portland, oregon in 2006. founding members grant corum and suzanne stone have been central to the band since its inception, while a rotating line-up backs them depending on the latest vision for the sound. tip! the band carry out their own interpretation of a genre bending ethos that has evolved throughout the american underground. drifting between boundless compositions, focused energetic improvisations and experimental collaborations that embrace a weird sort of transcendence. their next installment red rose and obsidian was recorded in maine and engineered by big blood’s caleb mulkerin. both he and the band deliver a powerful yet fragile and personal release. the mythical and evocative recordings are inspired by maine s rugged coastlines, mournful ripples of sound wash up on the shore, whilst a lonesome, at times harrowing saxophone drifts through the rolling mountains, providing unsettling melodic interludes. electronic treatments veil organic sounds, a fleeting whistle meets spontaneously with spacey flutes, mutated rock rhythms are topped off with the soaring vocals of suzanne stone who leads the listeners into the magical world of the million brazilians.

welcome to the next vinyl record on kickmasomaass records and we are back with next edition of hardgroove planet the second one. the only one real hardgroove techno sound on this planet released on vinyl! all others are only cheese! as always we bringing you also this time four tracks from creme de la creme of hardgroove techno producers. the first one chewy martins has delivered us track called dark shadows and i think that this one is one of his best tracks he has made. excellent dark synths with hard tribal beat and heavy kicks. a dream of every hardgroove fan and one must have for every hardgroove party. second track is from well known andy bsk called machine. this very poor producer from slovakia has finally delivered us one real hardgroove track that has a potential to destroy every club. his beat and sound is so catchy that every hardgroove fan will love this track. the next track on hardgroove planet 2 is from dj gumja called noelom. this slovenian dj and producer has delivered us a track with real hardgroove heart. great tribal beat filled up with a catchy vocal. great work from him! the last track and a grand finale for our hardgroove planet 2 is a track called moon from recycle bot. all fans who is know this producer knows that he is more hardtechno or techno producer as hardgroove but his track moon has something from hardgroove sound too and thats why we have added this track to our compilation. great hard beat with tribal percussions, dark synths and heavy kicks. so thats all for now. hope you all will love this new vinyl record and if you want to show some love then spread a word to your friends about this new release. thanks for all support. enjoy!

amsterdam based artist nthng continues to have a busy year. following up an album on lobster theremin and ep on transatlantic, he now lands on delsin with three tracks that touch on driving dub-techno and dreamy ambient. oralage opens with upbeat drum programming and gliding hits that make for a smooth flowing groove. distant pads add some spacey atmospheres and the production is effortlessly warm and driving. a souls search takes time out to drift in the cosmos, with waves of muted euphoria washing over you as you sink into clouds of ambient bliss. lastly, turn to gaia is a dubbed out techno roller, with long legged drums looping down low, reverberating chords adding weight and distant bell sounds charting the whole thing in a harmonic glow. it rounds out a super smooth and seductive ep.

the first vinyl installment from odt records is a vinyl only ep: ufo park. produced by romanian trio lisière collectif, and including remixes from melodie & teluric, under their duo alias glueped, and from steve o sullivan. the music is a 4 tracks ep: where -u - 2902 - 16- is a classy minimal composition, blending a tight beats with a deep and bewitching atmosphere that have been re-interpreted by our two remixer on the b side. in the a2 spot, it s the warm deep and groove-oriented -b - 0912 - 15- that has been pressed. designs of the ep have been created by our faithfull oriane yo, who used andu simion photographies in a pure and simple arrangment.

with lomdit ep we have arrived at levi verspeeks 3rd solo record. three times a charm and so it will be when it crashes onto the dancefloor with tech triumph tamtam named after an unknown friend. 2nd track octo s slick, oozing groove sees right through you and pillages the floor with metal percussion. no later than 6 and a half minutes after you will be met by god s choir singing it s chorus: we smell sausage. watch out that you don t get dipped by that foxy break halfway through! knock knock. who s there? hmmm. hmmm who? hmmm, the last track on lomdit, and it knocks!

bionda e lupo are like little you ll have heard before, a boy/girl band like no other. synth wave is fed a line of modern alienation, delusory disco to a disdainful drum beat, house emptied and ridiculed. rhythms are stark, melodies are as mechanical as the lyrics. -zug der vogel- is sparse, vocals intertwine in an empty embrace whilst bars sparkle. -twoi glasza- is more playful. bright words shimmer against sweeping strings. the past is parodied across the ep but nowhere more so than in -die kinder aus dem park.- a former classic dug out before being peppered by machine gun percussion. the stilted rhyme of -eckstein- closes, a ballad of bittersweet images and lost hopes.

brain machines peaks lp was a highlight of the emotional response catalogue last year, and its only right that the album gets a high-class set of remixes to accompany it. the label have pulled out the stops here with an all-star cast, leading in with salon des amateurs dreamweaver toulouse low trax who drops a pinging, plucking version of light space. then gigi masin steps up with an illustrious revision of crystal clouds, while harmonious thelonious brings a heavy yet measured, techno-minded presence to traces. ronny & renzo round the package out with playful synth splashes on their version of eclipse predictions.

chicago’s carington pierre, also known as lanzo, has bestowed evidence of his cosmic hip hop beatology to the cold busted label in the form of a new album, omnipotent. previously recording for blvnt records and the natural selection label, lanzo specializes in a style of experimental hip hop that draws from boom-bap, soulful downtempo, and atmospheres that lean toward the celestial. lanzo and his trusty mpc 1000 have been actively producing since 2008 and omnipotent confrms his upward trajectory, presenting ffteen tasty sonic morsels that groove in a confdent but abstract fashion. highlights include “comfort zone” which envelopes a swinging rhythm in dreamy strings, distant voices, and rolling bass, and the odd but appealing “gutter balls”, featuring some deliciously drunken synths. there’s also the melancholy quiet storm of “colours”, “against the wall” and its heavily processed beat magic, and the loping sci-f jazz of “between friends”. omnipotent is a heady listen, displaying textures and swirls that accentuate the sturdiness of its drum beats. lanzo has provided a distinctive soundtrack that’s ready-made for day blazing or night groovin’.

bleu nuit (bn) is glad to introduce you to its first release a night on planet earth (bn01) by barcelona-based italian artist flavio folco. known for his musical compositions on his late imprint fresh food (napoli), among others, flavio folco has also made a name for himself as a dj with multiple appearances alongside his friend joseph capriati. whereas a night on planet earth could have seen the light of the day in 2015, when lumièreslanuit (lln) got the demo through a friend, it s finally two years later that the four-tracks ep is finding his place on bleu nuit, and not just any as it is kicking this new project off and paving the way for other break & gangster beats.

kiu d lands back at the masterworks hq for his latest release -the journey - 12 inch sampler-. having steadily climbed the ranks of modern disco producers with consistent releases for the likes of hot digits & special editionà he returns to masterworks with his 4th outing on the label. rounding up a fierce collection of heavy beats, sampled grooves and lush melodies, kiu d remains in fine form and is apparently immune to resting on his laurels.

coming off the back of 2 years running strictly-vinyl-only acid house underground parties, the downfall crew all veterans of the 1980 s london acid house scene have put together their debut 12inch. straight out of wandsworth ep. four jacking analogue machine-driven tracks. all hardware. vinyl only. no digital.

west side story became the smash hit stage musical of 1957 through a combination of leonard bernstein’s dramatic score with jerome robbins exuberant dance routines. the long awaited film version arrived in 1961 and starred richard beymer as tony, rita moreno as anita and natalie wood as maria. its original soundtrack album clocked up 53 weeks on top of the billboard stereo albums chart and 12 on the mono, making it the album with the most weeks at number 1 of the rock (post 1955) era.

brooklyn/london-based label truecolors follows its debut release with a 12- four-tracker by zigan aldi titled fidale ep. based in berlin, zigan aldi contributed to truecolors va from earlier this year alongside bedouin, nu and stavroz, which has conquered the beatport charts and stayed strong in several vinyl charts. titled fidale , his next outing on truecolors sees aldi make use of analog gear and original recordings of real instruments as opposed to samples, as well as tape to mix the tracks down. this year has seen the producer gig regularly in locations like ibiza, vienna, berlin and istanbul where his live performances incorporate musicians. the tracks have gotten tremendous support and love throughout the summer, at the saga parties at heart ibiza, where zigan holds a residency. deep chords and echoing effects make up fidale as a medley of instruments ebb and flow from the mix, making way for the low-slung groove of moonfly with its infectious guitar licks and serene aesthetic. beni beni incorporates organic drums and soaring atmospherics that blend together with turkish vocalist meltem cumbul s chanting voice, until nu past concludes the release with its crunchy percussion and sultry bass..

london based electronic music label khemia records announces its sixth split release vinyl ep. the second edition of the magnum opus series on khemia records features a new production from berlin based modular powerhouse blush response alongside an electrifying collaboration between years of denial, who have previously released on oliver ho’s death and leisure label and russian techno auteur alexey volkov (jealous god). on the solar side blush response delivers ‘you will cry out in grief’ a maelstrom of industrial electronics seethes under a furious barrage of complex rhythms, as evolving symmetries disperse into incandescence. on the lunar side years of denial meet alexey volkov in the first of a new collaborative series - ‘confess’. barkosina hanusova’s voice ricochets against caustic snares as she intones a fetishistic ritual of contorted flesh and altered states.

repress in generic white cover , earl has been with us since the beginning. the c in c.r.s.t. from some of our earliest releases to the spanking goodfoot ep as chesus and more recently his twisted disco remix of daneekas what s it gonna be? with seven davis jr. as earl jeffers he s really found his sound and we are stoked to have him back on board with his best ep yet. these tunes have been flaming all year in the clubs. proper essential stuff.

being selfish, is one of the good things about running your own label. if you please, you can just try and re-release that certain record that you always wanted for yourself, but never could get your hand on it. now, you can just edit it the way you always wanted it to be (oh, those fade-outsà) and press it up. this is one of these occasions. when kalk (the collaborative project of philippe heinen and joffrey becker) was released on julien briffaz label brif in 1999, i just had started to dj out at a club in darmstadt (the late cafÚ kesselhaus) and the restrained, yet punchy house tracks symbolized what i liked about deep house back then: a mellow alternative to the bpm hunt and rigid attitude in mainstream techno, while not losing itself in chin-stroking wisdom or pesky noodling. it seemed that there werent too many around with the same desire. otherwise akasha wouldnt have remained a diamond in disguise and not what morgan geist so aptly named an unclassic. by his definition, that is: an old by and large forgotten record that would have deserved to be hit. if you take discogs as an indicator, more and more people start to think so though. here is your second chance to obtain a copy of the spirit of kalk. mildly edited and restored in the best human-possible way. mind you, its old house music from days of yore. dj gj

la fleur releases her new ep right behind you via her own power plant imprint. the ep includes two tracks, circadian, and the title track right behind you - both showcasing la fleurs in-demand brand of groovy, vocal techno. the ep release marks the end of la fleurs busiest summer on record. a residency at hot since 82s labyrinth parties at pacha in ibiza, touring brazil with the watergate crew and remixing their new single from the mighty sasha have lead to it being a season to remember. the title track, right behind you, features vocals from austrian vocalist/songwriter lula, who is best known for her distinctive work on danny tenaglia club classics like la fleur favourite read my lips. la fleur said: lulas voice is special and distinct. hearing her unique way of vocalising on favourite tracks of mine from back in the day (like tenaglias 98 single read my lips for example), i just felt i had to reach out to her. creating right behind you was a labour of love and we spent months working on it until we finally got to the definitive version.

in a new transatlantic partnership, uk label secret reels and washington, dc imprint better listen records have teamed up for a run of collaborative records. the joint brand, secret listen, combines the labels in sound as well as in name. imagine the lush, pensive and moody deep house tones of secret reels joining with the sample-heavy disco soul leanings of blr. secret listen vol. 1 takes two artists each from both rosters for the first amalgamation. the -secret side- hosting english producers harry wolfman and chocky, while the listen side invites sune and vitamin d of high hat appreciation society and the newly founded honey butter records to the affair. it s a v/a release with a variety of offerings and flavours. wolfmans floozy sits first in the record as a bright and whimsical flute-led morsel, while chockys inner disco is a cerebral, loopy cut. on the flip, sune provides some exquisite rhodes action in his groovy midtempo effort, glidin, and his swedish compatriot closes out the affair with the bittersweet lately.

seattle rapper/producer grieves emerged in 2007 with his independently released album, irreversible. in the years that followed, he wholly devoted himself to touring, writing and recording, honing his craft and defining his sound. his 2011 rhymesayers debut, together/apart, was a career landmark and a testament to his growth in both, his writing and delivery, and this progression was re-affirmed by his follow-up, winter & the wolves, in 2014. now, after three years, grieves prepares to reveal further evolution with the release of his new full-length album, running wild.
