french artist marc nguyen tan released two renowned albums in the early 2003 and 2006 under the artist name colder on trevor jackson’s seminal label output recordings. in november 2015, colder returned after a decade in hiatus with his third, highly acclaimed album many colours followed by two other lps titled the rain and goodbye in 2016. kasper bjorke is one of the most acclaimed and versatile producers and djs hailing from denmark. kasper has released five renowned solo albums over the past decade and remixed a wide range of artists, from rebolledo to weval. the two artists first started working together when kasper remixed colders single ”your kind” - and colder in return remixed bjørke s track ”marbled blood”. the idea to take their collaboration even further was formed when the two of them met in person during sonar festival in barcelona in 2015. in 2016 they then teamed up in the redbull studio in paris for a three day improvised recording session. the result is the black magic ep in stores on september 8th via throne of blood. a collection of five raw, driving post punk / new wave and techno influenced compositions, recorded via the studio ssl desk in paris, using hardware synths and drum machines played through some exotic vintage effects. colder recorded his mesmerizing vocals on the spot along with french drummer julien sabourin and saxophone player thibaut javoy. the ep will be followed by a stellar remix package from the golden filter (optimo music), mutado pintado (paranoid london) and french producer and dj pilooski.

after a long standstill, elypsia records is back in full-effect with an amazing release by scan 7, an artist collective from detroit whose existence goes back to the early days of detroit techno. scan 7 is considered by many as a pioneer of the underground detroit sound. this new release features the original version of scan 7’s “burdens down-, a brand-new song written & produced by detroit-techno newcomer mr. hooper featuring maurice jackson on vocals. the track - which has been performed live at the movement festival 2017 - has been very well-received by detroit insiders who see it as a new classic song of the genre. the package also includes the terrence parker’s radio edit of “burdens down” and the gospel-influenced “thank you lord-.

dimensions recordings explores its darker side on an introduction part 3 with intergalactic oddities and twisted techno constructions, the release is definitely ones for the late hours. ‘crosstalk’ from gear heads london modular alliance opens, a squelching, electro, hardware excursion demonstrating a small snippet of what’s to come from the talented trio. next, french artist, upwellings steps up to demonstrate his purist approach as he unites elements of dub and techno to create the beautifully spacey ‘soft shadows’. the third offering comes courtesy of fachwerk label boss and prolific techno artist, mike dehnert, who presents raw but melodic track in ‘tokio,’which maintains his minimal and stripped back aesthetic beautifully. chicago’s steven tang in his obsolete music technology rounds off the release with ‘comb freq,’ a devastatingly powerful mix of acidic, bleeping dance floor energy!

for the first release on the wysing polyphonic label three-piece ectopia have created a suite of seven new works in which intricate cello and screeching and spoken word vocals are carried along on a wave of dark electronica, taking the listener on a journey into sad acid house, scratched dvds, lipstick clogged with rolling tobacco and hangovers with absent lovers.
ectopia are adam christensen, jack brennan and viki steiri. previous works have included sound-tracking jack smith’s experimental film normal love (1963) and carl theodor dreyer’s the passion of joan of arc (1928). they recently played a sell-out show at london’s ica in a wysing polyphonic showcase that also featured xname, siren and n-prolenta who made their uk live debut.
wysing polyphonic has emerged from the wysing polyphonic music festival, now in its 8th year, which has programmed the likes of beatric dillon, elaine mitchener, hannah sawtell, helena hauff, holly herndon, james holden, karen gwyer, klara lewis, nik colk void and russell haswell, amongst many others, play at the cambridgeshire centre.

hailing from spain, we are pleased to welcome ramiro lopez to take the reigns for our next release. the in-form producer has already released music on the likes of bedrock, intec, suara and diymanic in a relatively short space of time and garnered major support from adam beyer, carl cox and monika kruse. coming out on 15th may, his pretending release comprises of 4 tracks that have been a mainstay of adam beyer s sets during the latter part of 2016 and now full force in to 2017. the release opens with september atmospheric to its very core, the crunching drums and low end rumbles make this one a sure fire weapon of choice. next we jump into loving you with a haunting vocal that compliments the stripped back yet refined approach of this track. come closer featuring juliet fox is a dark, rumbling number that screams building percussion that lends itself to become a peak time choice, whether its a club or festival. the release closes with pretending feat. knowkontrol an 8-minute piece of work that is destined for unadulterated dancefloor destruction, whilst maintaining that melodic element that ramiro lopez is fast making his signature style.

nicola cruz polishes off a trippy tryptic of cult releases for multi culti with espÌritu. folklorica s chosen lord, nicola cruz has shepherded the masses from the church of high tempos and brought trance-formed revellers down to earth with his fusion of crisp electronics and organic, indigenous vibrations. miraculously, he has brought this style of music to europe s major big room clubs and huge festival stages worldwide, pleasing crowds in the habit of being hypnotized by homogenous house music. espìritu de protección opens as a revelation, two seconds into the groove and you re deep in the tribe. you re dancing, everybody s dancing, things dub out, melt down, and a haunting vocal wisps through the room, tickling the crowd from their tailbones to their pineal glands. just as you recover from that spell, in fly the flutes. every yogi in the vicinity sways into the front and all of a sudden, you know you re getting laid tonight. that s the kind of power we re dealing with: cruz control. it s so potent we had to carefully extract the flute-a-pella and serve it up separately to use as a cult dj tool. on the flip side, not one but two slamming remixes of tzantza from disco halal-defekting russian duo: simple symmetry. vinyl lovers rejoice in the supreme exclusivity on the digitally unavailable folklorica dub, a supreme tranceformational party tool with enough flute to elevate the mind of the many.

after their highly regarded debut on attic music called “laq 02” back in may 2016 boston 168 are back with a 4-track spanning release named “khidi raver”.
again, the italian duo delivers a well balanced release that cleverly touches different sides of modern day techno music. from the slow paced chug “khidi raver” to the emotive tones of “blu bridge”, the a-side already showcases the duo’s versatile pallette.
on the b-side we find an acidic growler named “j the master” which is heavy arms material for the festival season. label owner fabrizio lapiana offers a haunting remix of “khidi raver” to close down the record.
