the 05 poly 800 loop ep was born in the name of the dutch-hungarian friendship when dj overdose collaborated with the budapest based record label dalmata daniel, and hungarian acts, s olbricht & 12z. a wide range of styles release from dark and mid-tempo to hard-hitting electro. just how we like it from mister model man. the ep also features two remixes both of which are complete reworks of the originals. s olbricht (farbwechsel, opal tapes, lobster theremin) transformed path to wrath into a dark abstract techno wave that manages to end up light and romantic. meanwhile 12z, the newest mascot of nicolas jaar s other people label have made an experimental symphony from be(h)anger and this pathos covers the whole essence of this ep.

hirofumi goto aka rondenion made his debut releases on still music back in 2005. shortly after, he released a streak of detroit infused house 12 on rushhour, aesthetic audio and more to great critical acclaim. a dj and producer born in japan. he began working as a recording artist in the late 90s under the name hirofumi goto, and released his global debut, >ameria ep<. it drew attention for its dark beats, unusual for a japanese artist, and was played by top djs like derrik may. he changed his name to rondenion to show respect to chicago and detroit, and began working on an overseas release. ultimately, his love bound ep was released by major labels such as >rush hour< and became a big hit. it reached the top on the rushhourstore sales chart, and became popular in europe. in 2012 he formed >ragrange symphony< with his old friends no milk and kez ym, and he is currently working on a number of projects for his own record label, >ragrange records<.after being approached by roundabout sounds for a remix, discussions shortly after were directed towards a plan for releasing rondenions debut album on both vinyl (roundabout sounds) and digital (plug research). the result is the luster grand hotel debut album, ready to drop in september 2013. luster grand hotel is the most accomplished project from rondenion, an absolute blend of detroit and chicago house, reminiscent of the music from moodymann, theo parrish and rick wilhite. a must have for any real house music fans.

after the unanimous global acclaim of glass eights (dial lp 22), john roberts returns with fences, his second full length offering on hamburgs dial records. from elegantly dusted chamber pop and semi-psychedelic acoustic musings to turgid orchestral dance floor fillers, roberts creates a beautifully collaged symphony of recorded violins, cellos, cracked guitars, detuned pianos, faded samples, broken drum machines and manipulated answering machine cassettes.

thomas fehlmann is integral to kompakt and the labels history. his solo releases and collaborative work with alex patterson as the orb have been some of the kompakts most revered and cherished tunes. following the success of his 2010 full length gute luft (a collection of re-edited versions from his score to the hit documentary 24hr berlin), we start 2011 off with titan one / dfm. on october 16, 2010 thomas fehlmann performed in montreal, canada at the historic molson coors brewery building together with members of the montreal symphony orchestra (osm). together they sought to recreate a version of gustav mahlers classic symphony no. 1 (titan). kompakt is proud to now offer a new recording inspired by that epic concert of symphonic and electronic with a new recording inspired from that performance – renamed as titan one. the hum of cellos and strings conjoin fehlmanns electronics – held together by the sublime, unobtrusive thump of a bass drum. titan one flows with a beauty and edacity that is rarely heard in both classical and electronic music form. the b-side features a new recording inspired from the second piece of the performance - a new version of thomas fehlmanns du fehlst mir from his 2006 kompakt full length visions of blah. reanimated as dfm, the piece again conjoins the different musical worlds in a way we have never heard to such a high standard. a much more upbeat affair than to titan one (of course) bass and keyboards mingle with the symphony the playfulness of the original song rolls throughout dfm. whether as palais schaumberg, the orb, or 3mb (to name only a few alias). fehlmann may have 3 decades of professional recordings under his belt but he continues to prove to the world as being one of the most fascinating and creatively open musicians in his field. this release clearly proves his story is far from over.

dj roc, known to his mother as clarence johnson, was born and raised on the southside of chicago better known as the low end. the crack in >crack capone< refers to his style of production. like an underground chemist, dj roc produces variant strains of chicago juke music, the crack referring to the synapse snapping, potentially ankle cracking manipulation of rhythms and the sampling, hijacking and ultra-rhythmic micro-editing of black american pops dominant forms into a style thats been developed and tested on the streets of chicago.

>france 2< deservedly takes the headline-grabbing attention-seeking lead track position: pure mediterranean melodrama with a bold approach to gut-wrenching operatic melody that vangelis himself would be proud of. on a further anthemic tip comes the atonal melancholic vocal symphony of >voci giaga<, whose delicately constructed layers of harmonic voices build up to form something very special indeed. >h2< meanwhile is an exuberant explosion of arpeggios underpinned by an insistent analogue club groove, whilst to finish, the heady, disorientating >oceano< promises to be a key component of many a dj journey over the coming months, leaving your faithful disciples just-the-right-kind-of-lost within the cosy dancefloor bubble. already homegrown heroes in the club scene of their native italy, with the >france 2 ep< the time has come for margots 21st century krautrock message to reach out across the rest of the world.

second of 3 volumes taken from the incredibly rare japan only cd release inner films 70 from 2009. the sketch is simple, modern dance artists take on seminal film scores from the 70s and give them a twist. kicking of with maurice fultons eerie and quite frankly disturbed version of jaws (main title), next shigeru tanabu takes on star wars! on the b side brisha steers ninth symphony… (from clockwork orange) into deep techno territory, while finally godfather (love film) gets a deep paddy house overhaul by yukihiro fukutomi (mule musiq).

wave music presents its newest release under the milk & honey moniker with additional production by boyd jarvis. the original long version is a beautifully drawn out symphony of strings and jazzy keys over a sultry downbeat and lazy vocoded vocals. consider this gold for fans of 4 hero and all lounge-core/downtempo fanatics. the flip however is boyd jarvis uptempo dance floor phenomenon. inserting a heavy and pumping bass line and adding xylophone arpegios alongside congas, organ synth and space atmospherics make for one wild galactic journey. think kevin yost remixed by salt city orchestra and you are right on target. slamming!

loco & jam are northern irish based techno duo, lloyd reid and james peoples. now its time for their brand new ep on marco baileys mb elektronics label. >roundhouse< builds up slow with a nice deep bass but turns into a big room techno track before you know it! the second track is a splendid remix of >roundhouse< by ascion & d. carbone. what the funk! this track has such a nice groove and will fit in a variety of record-bags. on the b-side you will find the uplifting track >3d symphony<. this track will surprise you again and again: so many things are happening here. peak time slamming techno destroyer!

aux-rec is being launched by airdrop records as an offshoot label designed with a specific mission in mind: to look back and pay tribute. aux-rec surveys musical history looking for those inspiring pieces of music (famous or forgotten) that carry a very distinctive groove and identity, and that offer the potential to be revisited in an ingenious contemporary way. at airdrop, we love music of all ages and of many genres! we feel aux-rec is a way for our artists and for us to pay our due respects to the origins and the evolution of contemporary dance music.
the existing airdrop roster of artists will be invited to contribute to aux-rec, but different artists will also be uncovered specifically for this project. off to a fresh start, franco cinelli and club rayo (a duo composed by rafael sorol and pablo terreil) engrave their long-time friendship on this record. franco cinellis first productions were released on the duos imprint club rayo disquets at the beginning of the millenium. the club rayo collective has been extremely active in the local argentinean scene for more than twelve years now.
going back to one of music historys greatest classics, >fever<, franco cinelli and club rayo bring their own interpretations to a theme that has known as many versions than people taking a sing at it in the shower! using ella fitzgeralds and elvis presleys voices, club rayo create repsectively the fitzgerald mix - a rocking dancefloor jam looping ellas fantastic voice bringing it to a culmination - and the king dub - a 118 bpm groove punctuated by elvis low-pitched and resonant tone. cuerdas is a short guitar instrumantal rendition of the fever theme. on his remix, franco cinelli creates a 10 minutes drum symphony, especially designed for the post-climatic hours. both producers kept in mind ellas famous quote when undertaking this great enterprise: >i stole everything i ever heard, but mostly i stole from the horns.<
the following releases on aux-rec will also be in the form of bootlegs, edits, re-works or samples (you name it). they will bring back memories to your heads and mostly the groove to your feet. to be true to its mission of a vintage exploration, aux-rec will be releasing exclusively on vinyl, in the tradition of the essential music format of the 20th century. there will be no digital releases at aux-rec. in the pipeline are soul claps edit of laid backs >bakerman< as well as le loups version of sheila es >a love bizarre<, produced by prince.
