with a background as a promoter, dj, and producer going back to 1995, sammy goossens is a veteran par excellence in todays techno scene. starting off with production work on respected techno imprints like rotation, re-load, tresor, and r&s, he has spent time co-producing for legends like the suburban knight and managing jay haze’s contexterrior and tuning spork labels. alongside friend marcus vector, they started the toys for boys imprint in 2004 and put out a prolific string of releases from top minimal house names like quenum and jona while pushing forward their own careers as producers. now based in berlin and as active as ever, sierra sam honors caduceus records for our fourth release, featuring remixes from jacob korn, oliver deutschmann, and label head lad.

mike storm comes from the underground scene of the 072 area in the netherlands. in the late 90s he started as a dj, soon he moved from turntables to his first equipment and started performing live-sets on various local partys. while the underground scene was highly involved electro and techno music, mike learned from it’s established djs & producers and how to work with analog equipment. as of this day, he still produces his tracks still without any computer sequencer. mike storm is most of all inspired by the sound from detroit and minimal dark techno and his biggest passion is performing live on stage. in 2012 mikes coming out of the underground scene and sees his music is being appreciated by the likes of jeff mills and dimi angelis. both djs frequently use his tracks in their sets.

exploitation is the new film by dutch independent filmmaker edwin brienen. enfant terrible produced the soundtrack for this gothic-noir satiric fresco. 90 minutes of music to be enjoyed both as true soundtrack as well as a sequel to previous enfant terrible compilations... but more dramatic and ritualistic in the way the record is building up. it will please fans of minimal electronics and (post) industrial music but also moves into different styles such as idm, tekno, angst pop and chanson, while always keeping a dark and cold mood and/or dream state feeling throughout... limited edition of 250 copies!

the latest emotional response release provides something very special indeed, in the form of a new track from under the radar psychedelic rock musician nick nicely. nicely has been making music from the 70s onwards, but his music has recently undergone something of a critical reappraisal, with the likes of robert wyatt and robyn hitchcock supposedly inspired by his work, wrottersley road provides the ideal entry into his music, a masterful piece of shoegaze pop filled with fuzzed out guitars and eastern psychedelic tones. remixes are provided by invisible hands, who provide a minimal 80s inspired electro-pop version, which comes saturated in radiophonic textures, and the oscillation, who take the track into even more abstract ambient territory than the original, deep into a place where time seems to stand still entirely, drawing its rich textures out into infinity.

flying bodies are beta evers and charles kent. they produced only three tracks together of which only one was released on vinyl before. here are the other two tracks. one is a dancefloor smasher and the other one perfect for night drives on the highway... dark, minimal elektro to energize and sooth you. limited to 150 copies.

limited reissue of this incredible and highly sought-after futuristic 12 from 1981. released on west african music, a tiny label from the ivory coast, and finding a spiritual home on the italian eclectic cosmic scene, both tracks on this 12 are brilliantly innovative and exhibit a minimal techno-esque aesthetic way ahead of their time. side as closer is a chugging sinuous flow punctuated by jerking monotone vocals, horn stabs and synth arpeggios with a strong dancefloor sensibility. flip over for stunningly weird electronic percussion workout tam tam - a crazed sparse soundscape of strange falsetto tribal chants, funky hand claps and drums, synth wobbles, spasms and tweaks. mystery surrounds the identity of the elusive artist codek but evidence points to it being an offshoot project of french new wave producer john marieux.

what if time does not matter? welcome to the world of jonas saalbach, where nothing is solid but the rhythm of the base. we are drifting between synthwaves and nested melancholic melodies, between hazy vibes and spare used dark vocals and we call it >nika yumi<. this one is a brilliant number from a producer-youngstar, which strandet in berlin with a big smile and many dreams in the backage. so here we go with his first release on einmusika recordings. >next< - the second track on the ep, is an exotic odyssey in times of vocal- and deephouse, because this number is technoid, minimal and unimagined. >cave< can flip a good party into a great one in the space of six glorious minutes. the bendy baseline is catching everybody and the track is full of cosmic synths. and after this trip you surely need a bottle of water and a melody which picks up this feeling underlined with dreamy synth motifs and a kind of woozy bleeps. okay. so where we are? what time it is? whatever you can repeat everything.

scape one is producer of minimal electronic music from england. he rose to prominence with his electro work writing for labels like electrix, scsi-av and templedog. he has been writing music since the 1980s and uses mainly analog hardware in his productions. he also writes under his real name of kurt baggaley and also recently launched his tau sagittarii project into deep space with his experimental electronic scores.

the e.p kicks off with she can dance, a slow burning acid number that has elements of deep, grooving house from the detroit school. in fact, the second cut low control bares the influence of detroit too, with its murky, dubbed-out chords ala luke hess moving into a punchy bassline with minimal but functional drum patterns. proceedings get a bit more bouncy on the smoking hat, a quirky acid romp on the less daft side of ceephax, and the perfect soundtrack to accompany a feature-length documentary about.... a smoking hat. finishing up the e.p is fudge fingas remix of low control, the only man qualified to make an already deep as fuck track even deeper. theres been some on-point criticisms about a lot recent deep stuff getting lost in noodly jazz territory, but we are in no danger of that nonsense with fudge fingas at the controls: accomplished a musician he may be, hes never been one to lose the way, and this mix proves his deft and subtle remix talents. dabj done done it again, and hopefully this is the first in a long line of productions from vernon.
