DUSK (ABE DUQUE REMIX)

jacksonville (leeds u.k) releases his first original track for thug records. the release also coincides with the launch of our vinyl arm and marks a new direction and ethos for thug records. after being heavily inspired by a 4 month trip to berlin in late 2009 and by a number of fantastic labels and artists in the u.s.a, we have decided to make shift back to a more organic platform. to quote levon vincent, the medium is the message. now for the tracks, dusk is a deep, bumping techno gem that grinds and pulsates with smatterings of acid, drum hooks and creepy vocal stabs.
on the remix front, one of our all time favourite producers, abe duque (nyc), does what he does best and turns out an incredibly twisted dance floor beast. both tracks here bring the noise. hope you enjoy...
SEVENTYNINE (VILLALOBOS & CARL CRAIG REMIX)
12 Inch
15.02.10
just in time to warm the winter months up north (and soundtrack some seriously dreamy summer nights down south) comes a very special remix package for mirko lokos album >seventynine<, featuring three certified legends of house and techno: carl craig, ricardo villalobos and cadenzas own master of ceremonies, luciano. and when we say >very special<, we mean it: these are big tunes with a deceptively subtle touch, and their sleight-of-hand moves are going to turn all types of dance floors upside down.

NEW CRACK EP
12 Inch
08.02.10
the berlin-based dj and producer eva be is no newcomer to the international dance-music scene. 2 years ago she released her long-player >moving without travelling< on bestseven / sonar kollektiv records creating her very own trademark dub-influenced electronic sound. this ep is the logical continuation of her musical output as she has been djing quite a heavy 4/4 sound in the last years playing alongside best works records djs andre lodemann, roland appel and alex barck of jazzanova in places such as goa/madrid, cookies/berlin, dampfzentrale/bern, etc.
>new crack< combines an electronic dub driven bass sound with classic old-school house influences - dancefloor business. darko essers mix is more intrecate giving the orginal a more dramatic crystalline twist. last but not least andre lodemanns previously unreleased remix of eva bes tune >she walks alone< sees the light.

gui boratto keeps on giving with these three brand new tunes - a true statement of the tremendous talent he continues to bring to kompakt. he bumps up the bass adds a vocal chorus and teleports the original into a new stratosphere. telecaster is a dark and deep floor leveller. the glam is a rocket - elemental percussions play with a low end synth ride that rolls with a menacing delivery but certain to lay devastation on any dance floor.
vaquero is a remarkable deep, dubbed out piece of techno soaked in spaced out sounds, uncompromising and authentic - a glamorous piece of techno. drenched in that analogue and drugged out feeling a real jewel of a track where catchiness meets the abstract end of electronic dance music.
THE EXPERIENCE

this e.p. is a composition by two artists who release their feelings thru their music. g.marcell presents >breathe<. on this side of the e.p. breathe is a musical adventure were g.marcell expresses a time period of release from the everyday drama. sometime in our everyday life we need just a little relief from the everyday pressure of the issues we encounter. this is the reason for the inhale mix and the exhale mix. the inhale mix is the more laid back groove where as the exhale mix is the more energetic groove strictly for dancing. on the other side of the e.p. >necessary sanctuary< is amirs experience of the dance floor when he hit the club scene. the original mix is full of energy and a for sure crowd pleaser. the 3am mix is more of the mellow late nite groove. over all, the e.p. is something for everyone to relate to in one way or another.

after appearances in numerous end-of-year charts, raffertie continues to meddle with the dna of uk dance music on two ready made anthems. the more ballistic side of rafferties oeuvre is shown on the blazing >7th dimension< with crushed house beats alloyed to swooping bass wobbles and head searing synths, while the oddly affecting >string theory< should only add to his fanbase with an impressive grasp of bassline dynamics and vintage uk rave atmospherics that doesnt sound like much out there.

another hot limited marcellus pittman release with 3 tracks. already been played by theo parrish and omar s. dirty raw house tracks from detroit! on a dark dance floor you will be given a glimpse into the heart and mind of marcellus pittman. fit sound, a new imprint from detroit, debut with an ep from the talented detroit producer marcellus pittman. erase the pain, is a mutated acid banger carefully arranged to be absolutely devastating when in the right hands. twisted bass lines and synths travel together and divert over a fierce jacking beat. sync is a night drive through the city streets, but this night is strange because the sky has become purple. grey buildings turn into unrecognizable forms. people standing on street corners, now appear to be zombies lurking in the darkness. is this a nightmare or is this for real? illa 5 ela brings it all back to the days when you first felt love for that special somebody. early white labels copies have been tested in clubs worldwide and the results are unanimous: killer. follow theo parrishs advice, dont sleep...serious rugged service right here!

another bosconi anthem for the winter... sex baby please!
we are so happy to finally release this song by chronic flakes aka alex picone & kay sand already on mixworks and cadenza.. this track really represents our philosophy of dance music: extremely forward thinking boogie tech house with strong and powerful 909 drum machine sounds, sensual, jokey and funny vocals, an essential dry feeling filled up of chicagoish memories, so complete and rich of elements that makes it more than a common track, it is really for the girls, no music for techno machos, for us, just innovative and properly coooool stuff... and, being not selfish, we dropped also two other gems by our chronic mates... >easy cure< is a stunning, ethereal and bouncey oldschool/newyorkish deephouse track with a solid groove in the vein of kenny dope and early strictly rhythm, while >output< is a trippy technoid bomb for the likes of hardwax fans and dimbimans >vibration of v< addicts... what more were you looking for? have a listen baby ...
STROMBOOTY
12 Inch
28.01.10
support: steve bug, jay haze, someone else, mark henning, matt star, pan pot, agaric, jason emsley!!! 2009 has been an extremely busy year for billy dalessandro. on top of having recently relocated from his hometown of chicago to montreal, the year has marked his most engaging yet in terms of gigging and musical output. along with a successful three-month european tour, billy released a string of highly acclaimed singles, and his latest artist album (not to mention his growing catalog under the huge hephner and tyrone aliases). however, it should come as no surprise that the producer has saved the best for last.
>strombooty< (for details, consult your local urban dictionary) is the modern dalessandro sound, combining heady experimentation with dance floor prowess. the eps title track is a deep, yet explosive number that creeps in subtly like dark clouds on the horizon, before raining down a devastating thunderstorm over the speakers.
the latin-flavored >el tapatio< and super-deep cut >speak to me< make up the b-side. although the tracks represent different aspects of the dalessandro sound, the commonality they share is a thoughtful approach to dance music that much of the formulaic output these days lacks.

MARANGAI WAIKAWA
12 Inch
28.01.10
a unique opener for haknams first vinyl release by emad parandian.
the tripping a-side >marangai waikawa< leads into archaic vaults - a dark spatial pattern of droning synth atmospheres all maintained at a decisively bass oriented centre. a ceremonial dance, refined with self-played kanjira percussion. mysterious choirs invoke a rainfall of tribal metal percussion.
out of the dust of >marangai waikawa< grows >scud< on the flip. part two of a thrilling journey, pulsing straight forward with pushing noise elements, astute shuffly percussion combined with scattered vocals >changes are gradual<.
luis flores enters the world of hidden agenda. once home to just productions from label boss dietrich schoenemann and tony rohr, the label has added the likes of misc, shokh+star, bau and metalogic. veteran of mexicos techno scene and years of pushing innovating and non-conforming concepts, luis has developed his own production style that is precise and hypnotic with a healthy degree of dance floor groove. his first release on droid recordings was enthusiastically lauded and in put into heavy rotation by the likes of chris liebing and speedy j. already he is gaining momentum with interest from dj heavyweights and international tours in europe, china, the u.s. and elsewhere.

right on the heels of aux-records enthusiastically received 1st release featuring very contemporary revisits of the 1950s classic >fever< by franco cinelli and club rayo, this 2nd chapter of the aux-rec project travels to different eras, into different styles. and this is precisely what we had set to do: zig-zag through dance music history in search of personal favorites and classics to be revisited or refreshed. for the present release, we travel to two distinct dates: 1989 for the a-side, and 1979 for the b-side. two tracks that are 10 years apart, but that both share a fiercely upbeat and affirmative musical profile, as well as a certain ageless, core, compositional quality.

22.01.10
saved kicks off its 2010 release campaign with an ep from mendo and danny serrano. the duo achieved a successful 2009 between them with releases on bouq, clarisse, viva and luciano s cadenza imprint. for their saved release they present an incredible two track ep which is set to cause damage to dance floors across the globe. on the a side is yanara , a powerful deep and techy track which builds perfectly with layers of effected vocals and drum rolls to create an audio masterpiece. on the flipside is berlina . just as effective as the a-side, it possesses a grooving bassline, which works perfectly with the vocals that mendo and danny have edited flawlessly to make the track work to great atmospheric effect.
will eastman has been holding down dcs clubs for the better part of a decade with his sensationally successful bliss dance parties. his remixes have received critical praise, along with his dj sets in dc, across the u.s. and in europe. his first foray into original dance music, feelin to be released as a 12inch on plant, is a groovy house/disco/rave tune that gets reworked by his good pals nadastrom, tittsworth & nakassis, and dmerit. he and jesse tittsworth are opening a new club in dc, u street music hall, slated for early 2010. wherever eastman goes, insane dancing follows.

18.01.10
deep a & biri have been involved in the tel aviv house scene for some time. with this 3 track ep plus digital bonus track they give their debut now.
>twisted tango< is the most stripped down of all three tracks and a real cool groover. one of these tracks that grow enormously with volume and space. these two guys have got a good vision of how dance music should be to clad the clubbers in cotton batting. their cool way of transmitting indifference has always been the carrier of sensuality and sexiness in entertainment and it does create a certain kind of peppermint stench here. the vocals stabs in this one work like dubby elements which deep a & biri drop like things dropping out of your pocket.
>mischievous< is a perfect bassline monster... deep and heavy with a genius >pam pam< vocal stab. we dont know where these samples come from but they are luscious as hell. welcome to the pleasure dome!
>hine gama< is as cool as the two other tracks but but a little more laissez-faire fair. we dont think that anybody will be able to resist this bright light brown colour it shows with all its reflections of intensive sunbeams shining in.
this release fits perfectly to the last release on trapez ltd.
ELECTRIC CITY, FUNCTION RMX

electric city (original) is a classic industrial techno track combining the driving force of relentless beats and bass with the huge rooms the that roland drum machines open up when you put massive reverb on them. its hypnotic and psychotic sounds appeal to the primal side, driving you to forget about coolness and unconditionally express yourself to the beat. uplifiting and dark at the same time, electric city echoes the high tech metropolitain dystopia we live in today. >echoes< presents itself with a forward marching industrial beat, piercing synth lines, and sweat inducing rhtymic patterns. its psycho bleeps are pure industrial funk. when the vocal sets in youll feel the relief on the dancefloor as the straight forward groove brings out the primal need to put your energy and emotion into expression: dance. function s remix of electric city is dark !!

r.i.p. hollertronix series, that club staple borne in philly by diplo and low b that, in its lifetime, has seen the pair rise from small time basement collaborators and underground party hustlers to major label players and arena rockers. it helped introduced the world to bmore and balie funk music and let djs know it was okay to embrace a pluralistic club experience where its more than okay to crunch up a set with indie, hip hop and dance music. the seeds of hollertronix are sown, but now they ve grown, with the departure of low b, diplo has nursed the growth into the full fledged mad decent label under universals downtown records umbrella. the last word from hollertronix is this, a four track banger from amsterdams the partysquad, which is the hollertronix 10 12inch. it includes potential future classics: pull up, crazyfunkystyle, murderer & rage.

the voyage continues. after dropping his debut album voyage direct, tom trago now drops two favorites from his live set. side a is an extended disco version of use me, morphing in to and out of the original like butter. clocking over 8 minutes use me again becomes somewhat a modern take on the original disco version. its got enough drive to make a dance floor go crazy. side b meanwhile is an exclusive from his live set. here he strips the classic >over & over< to the minimum before sliding into the original groove only for a moment, only to continue to ride the rhythm again. proper club business
