daniel stefanik & thomas stieler team up for a new concept series called * numbers*.
the first ep feels like a tribute to deep and classic vibes crossed with trippy atmospheres and shaped perfectly to the groove
after contributing a remix for our label in 2011 daniel stefanik now returns to raum with his first solo single under his new moniker dlsk.
the a side * sense of doubt* is a bit more stripped down and melodic, as the b side and also the title track of this release * subterraneans* is more of a jazzy house groove, that simply doesn’t stop rolling and keeps the tension with subtle variations and other nice little gimmicks. as always we truly hope that you enjoy these tracks as much as we do and we are happy to have daniel back on board as for sure he can be called one of germanys top notch producers.
dissonant is proud to welcome daniel stefanik who had delivered a string of modern, refined production with essential albums and singles, throughout his career. on this release, aftermath ep, he offers up two tracks that strike a perfect note between cerebral intrigue and instinctive deep house groove, channeled into an unforgettable and timeless quality. it might drizzle until september, is a truly heartfelt piece throughout its keynotes and dubby gestures. the combination of subtle rhythmic elements and strong, ever-developing melodies is the perfect example of the passion and power that can be worked into house and techno. a stronger beat punches through on jolly green giant but the soothing, sensual synth lines remain giving space for dubby effects and delicate details to feed into the mix.
daniel stefanik is back on the track and it seems even stronger than ever before! after his cocoon album release confidence and the associated remixes (by mr. g, adam port, legowelt and matthias kaden) stefanik presents a true tech-house-monster as a dignified return to the label. with twilight zone stefanik moves away from his detroit influenced background but stays true to his oldskool flavoured vibe.
the 2nd album by daniel stefanik (cocoon, kann) on the statik entertainment – imprint shows the epic width of real underground techno music. from ambient cuts to techno, dub-tech to tool-tracks. floor fillers meets listening stuff – an amazing last release on statik entertainment. the label that will be closed after 20 years of doing deep techno music. dont sleep!

daniel stefanik is one of the techno and house newcomers of the last years. his carefreeness as a dj behind the decks and his likeable appearance are literally distinctive for a new generation of young, down-to-earth producers from germany, which are the result of the influence of väth, villalobos and hawtin on the one side, and solid but hedonistic house on the other. whereas many producers nowadays have dedicated themselves to only one musical direction, the influence of kerri chandler, chez damier or kevin saunderson is clearly noticeable in stefanik’s music. his longplay debut for cocoon recordings is a mirror of all these influences and yet it’s so up-to-date and contemporary like only few other techno and house albums today.
ultraschall is an homage to the first big techno club in munich. the owners of harry klein were part of the old ultraschall, which has a unique legendary status nowa¬days. the older generation in particular often long for the good old days. yes those times shouldnt be forgotten, especially not in terms of sound, but its also important to move on and attempt new things. like supporting vinyl, going to a who¬lefood shop or ending war. ok that might sound like a bro¬ken record, but how about spending less time on facebook and actually with your friends, cooking for your parents or organizing a break dance battle in your backyard? daniel takes us on a journey through the past and back to the future again. a charming mixture of laid-back grooves combined with some rough n ready rave moments make this a rapturous trip, no matter what time it is. track names are a really interesting element of music. some artists dont care about them at all and call their tracks a1 or something non-descript. yet many titles can be really funny, others made up words, and some corre¬spond to current events or times. some just really fit the sound. if you lose something, in general its a pretty nasty and unsettling feeling. but you have to deal with bad luck when it strikes. losing something can teach you an im¬portant lesson, or simply show you what it means to be unfortunate and down. not knowing the lows as well as the highs wont allow you to evaluate life very well. most important is to really feel and be yourself, despite the ups and downs.
daniel stefanik represents the second outcome of his concept series >in days of old<. the >part ii< of this run draws a continuous musical line again. kann is once more pretty happy, to follow him closely into his distinctive definition of groove. all tracks are encased of darkness and deepness at the same time. it feels like a never-ending rhythmic dancefloor journey
the other site of daniel stefanik: dambala experience is starting with the three tracks by this leipzig-based artist. in difference to his releases on cocoon, freude am tanzen or mobilee you can listen to his freeing from minimal-four-to-the-floor-arrangements into an experimental dubby/dubstep - affair with a great influence of african sounds, made for the dancefloors too! available as limited colored 10inch ,check it out!
together with matthias tanzmann and the >freude am tanzen< crew, daniel stefanik belongs to the most reliable initiators of electronic dance music in east germany. the fact that the readers of groove magazine have voted daniel one of the best newcomers in 2010 ñ,,,,,, despite his more than 75 releases on mobilè,,,,,,e, statik entertainment, moon harbour or dessous ñ,,,,,, may be due to his fantastic remix of the ubertrack >no worries<, that has been played, together with butch s original version, on literally every deck between ibiza, frankfurt and london in the past months.
the real techno returns - dark, minimal & slow. daniel stefanik presents with his >transmediale< a piece of gold on the dancefloors. a bit minimal, a bit dub - a rhythmic bomb makes you dance for sure! dont miss it! ps: watch out for the limited edition of transmediale! incl. the free cd-compilation >file under dub #3< of our imprint >instabil< – so dont sleep
part 2 of the limited edition vinyl series for the >hi five mobilee< compilation is quite a contrast to its predecessor with more hip swingin housey vibes. moon harbours daniel stefanik first appeared on mobilee at the very early stages of the label, with his track >the bells< on the limited edition add-on release to pan-pots >obscenity< ep. back then his style was associated with old school sounds, detroit energy and chicago vibes, and his track for mobilee068 >tripiando los colores< shows that hes still rocking this to full effect. this is one for the summer! on the b-side of this release, label stalwart marcin czubala brings us >spinning la roulette<, which is sure to get the dance floor moving! straight in with a very funky bassline, playful percussion and hypnotic groove, it offers guaranteed fun on a plate. his recent release with hugo, zoo communale, stormed the charts and we hope you enjoy spinning la roulette in the same way!

daniel stefaniks >in days of old< makes kann05 kind of a concept ep. his three intoxicating untitled tracks feel like a tribute to his own influences and inspirations. we are very pleased to give him a cherished home for that. heart-crafted, beloved dance music.

after releases on established labels like smallville, liebe*detail, cargo edition, freude am tanzen and more, daniel stefanik, sven tasnadi und stefan schultz (juno6) decided to provide their own basis in their hometown leipzig. oh!yeah! is supposed to be a platform for own productions that wont go with conventional and profit-oriented concepts. oh!yeah! wants to be different! somewhere between couch and dancefloor, if you like even a bit gaga. it shall reflect the freaky and humorous side of the three guys. one at a time, the releases of daniel, sven and stefan will appear in turns. we save our breath and cheesy speeches the music speaks for itself. have fun with oh!yeah!001,

REMIX SERIES VOL. 4 (RMXS BY ANJA SCHNEIDER , DANIEL STEFANIK)
12" Vinyl D28.11.06
the last chapter of a four-piece vinyl remi x series including eight exclusive in-house remixes.but the mobilee crew is still on >back to back< tour and rocking several cities during the next month. the chapter is closed by the label boss hersel f. anja schneider has her way with daniel stefanik s anthem >the bells< and she is definitely >back from the valley< . this tune develops a lot of energy without opening all floodgates.and stefanik—not to be bested—does his magic on exercise one s >debaya< . mobilee seems to be daniels field for rave experiments. you never guess what happens in the final sequence while listening to the first seconds of this track. another old school lesson from a new school producer
excellent two tracker in best tradition of the berlin-spirit of the 90ies, of the style that is not necessary to describe !! played by matthias kaden, monojunk, serafin, roger23, matthias tanzmann, lawrence

cocoon recordings is proud to present the latest instalment in their dots & pearls compilation series. for the first time, this third edition-which is a retrospective of sorts for the label- will come in mixed cd format and will feature some brand new and unreleased tracks that will also come as a 12″,,, vinyl release. the artist mixing it up this time is daniel stefanik who also includes four of his own edits.
daniel stefanik is one of the techno and house newcomers of the last years. his carefreeness as a dj behind the decks and his likeable appearance are literally distinctive for a new generation of young, down-to-earth producers from germany, which are the result of the influence of vaeth, villalobos and hawtin on the one side, and solid but hedonistic house on the other
the year is 2014 and were looking into the upon.you-diary again of which the fourth and most recent chapter has been written by our long time friend and stalwart producer gunnar stiller who has been digging deep into the sonic layers of our universe to unearth shining house-, techhouse -, techwhatever-diamonds perfectly reflecting the upon.you-sound of today
together with guido schneider, andrè galluzzi presents the kick-off of the todays rmixes. a cooperation, well known since albertino on cadenza or too late to land on cocoon. the first trambolla rmix join this series as a percussive and mystic club crasher, bloom at primetime. urban drums meets wideness of electronic sound.
kann features with the fourth release two remixes from two special artists, we come a long with as friends and fans for a couple of years. sven weisemann retypes bender & sevensols evol peed into a typical but high class dubby version, that hold you captive from first chords and hats. on the other side there is a very special bouncing mix as a bomb from our buki good friend, dj, producer and newly singer daniel stefanik. he takes hand on brotherhoods memorial smith and applies himself for new house president. both tracks are originally taken from first record of kann in 2008.
it is one year ago that mathias kaden presented a very personal journey to his musical roots in the shape of an album called energetic. equally as long he has been out in the world as a live act - with some large analogous luggage and the same joy of performing with which he had won many hearts as a dj on the dancefloor beforehand. after the first batch of remixes (among others by michael mayer and redshape) there are now following further revisions of three of the albums tracks.
