the protagonist of this extended longplayer is the remarkable falke. he is the unseen hermit of the clan and arrested the labels attention due the things he does best: sitting at home collecting cheap ancient technology and creating his own artistic universe, influenced by his distinct sense for the simplistic beauty in everyday life. after two records and several compilation contributions, the label collected ten tracks to introduce his own extensive world properly. post-socialistic aesthetic detects 90s electronica to merge into a careless version of house.
after almost two years “things from the basement” are back with another very patient contribution for kann. next to their very intimate and minimalist original jams the 6 tracker includes three different dancefloor focused remix approaches from sevensol, map,ache & polo. the label’s final record of 2016 consists of a wide ranging musical package, all tracks are sorted by genres but unified in the same vibe.

‘family horror x good times’ is an extensive 15 tracks compilation, where the leipzig label reflects on an intense and impassioned decade. kann asked close friends and long time idols to play their part to the full to complete the third edition of the label’s family horror compilation series. the outcome is a clear snapshot of the musical inclinations of the three label founders, sevensol & map.ache (aka manamana) and bender, encapsulating an idiosyncratic, modern house sound that demands an emotional response. the compilation comes rounded off by a booklet of photographs from ria aka lux which just like the music captures some of the beautiful ‘good times’ from this very special period, this time on paper.

gieglings generous prince of denmark presents the new ep under his alias traumprinz, who is quite well known these days for his singular and filthy vision of house music. paradise with a lobotomy expands the labels horizon towards to further individual interpretations of house and techno. for that traumpinz brought three more than diverse tracks straight from home, to reveal a bit more of his royal universe to all the techno-paparazzis.
professional youth club terms another fine 2track ep from label owners sevensol & bender. with kann 21 both again renew their status as trusty soldiers of rhythm and atmosphere, while reconfirming their own trollig – sentiment even though the obvious glimpse is addressed to never ending dance floors.

in 2011 some berlin based recordshops try to reclaim the streets with the so called >record store day< for the first time in germany. also kann was asked for a limited vinyl to support their concern. on that specific occasion we bring a new two track ep except for the regular series. kann rsd breaks ranks with an extra beautiful edit of the awesome witchwaver sunglitters, composited by nuremburgs essay. b-side builts back the bridge to the label and gives finally >aperture< from sevensol & bender the appropriate space. the track was originally released on kann00 in 2008. for the artwork kann is pretty happy to won over famed – a chummy art collective – for doing an impressing independent work.
