san francisco-based producer antiserum steps up for dub police with two unique collaborations, featuring local producers ill-esha and 12th planet respectively. his music is a masterfully crafted fusion of influences that results in a sound entirely his own, balancing light against dark and colour against pure bass pressure. showcasing a deft musicality as well as an unrivalled talent for system shaking productions, antiserum is taking the scene by storm. releases on narco.hz, s.c.u.m and argon amongst others have already propelled him to the forefront of the rapidly growing american dubstep scene, with plenty more still to come. on the a side, he is joined by ill-esha on >zephyr<, a sick g-funk inflected roller. skittering hi-hats and tough drums lay the foundations on this one, with the deep, smooth bass sweeping underneath. the vibrant synths weave in and out of each other with ease, swimming around the mix and swelling expansively through the speakers. on the flip he teams up with 12th planet on the massive >purple & gold<. the g-funk influences continue to flow through this track, pinned down by a hard bassline and taut drums. the shimmering synths sliding over the top of the percussion and off into the atmosphere give the track an epic stop-in-your-tracks effect.
studio one dub 2 is a second collection bringing together some of the finest dubs from the legendary studio one records, kingston, jamaica. dub music was the creation of a generation of brilliant recording studio engineers in jamaica. but although clement coxsone dodds studio one is hailed as the greatest of the jamaican recording labels, and although many talented engineers worked the board at dodds brentford road studio over the years (including sylvan morris, syd bucknor, overton scientist brown and dodd himself), studio one was never typically known as a centre for dub.
dicky trisco wields the blade on two more underground disco classics and reworks them for dj use only. night dancing is a hot blend of rare, bumpin electrofunk and late night boogie. while over on the flip, got to have your dub is a funk-infused dance floor stomper. both tracks are lovingly edited and beautifully re-mastered for your absolute dj delight. enjoy the music!

dj ageishi is like the sensei of japanese djs: a true legend and active since 1973, he can scoop from an incredible musical wealth of experiences yet has his ear to whats happening in the now. this mixture of knowledge and curiosity for the new also characterizes his debut on internasjonal with colleague dj akin, who left his mark outside of japan with a remix for brennan greens >900lb man<. rattling drum breaks from the funk end of disco are the backbone for a soprano sax lick slightly remiscent of coltranes >a love supreme< that floats on top of noise distortet sheets of synth before the >rain parade< makes a total turn ending with a comforting lullaby like rhodes melody. prins thomas boils it all down to a simmering slow dub remake, while mark e lets all the single ingredients patiently lets every ingredient from the original develop its full-bodied flavour before kicking up the heat.
prins thomas spreads proper, earthy dub house vibes in a good old bobby konders tradition with >lang tung ting<. a hard driving jacker with dry, punching drums and grumbling, low-frequency acidic sounds not modulated by an 808 synth but from warped cello and bassoon lines. an ode to the timeless magic of beats and bass. much less sparse >ny maskin< on the flip is a dizzying disco/ rock jam backed by african derived beats and a gyranting, buoyant guitar lick . prins thomas brilliantly proves himself a jack of many trades again
d1 has once again come up with the goods, and delivered two brilliant old skool-influenced dancefloor tracks. >flood of emotions< featuring renowned vocalist jenna g, showcases d1s trademark melodic sensibility, while maintaining the tough drums and purebass pressure that makes uk bass music so exciting and impactful. driven by a classic hardcore break, the track penetrates right through you while the uplifting melody, complimented by jennas vocals, washes over you beautifully.
the man called leftside wobble raises the heat and delivers two top quality reworks on autodiscotheque continuing the imprints journey into the disco influenced proto-house sound. leftside wobble has emerged as an exciting new dj and producer on the back of the massive hype created by his genre-hopping dj edits and mixes that are posted on his self titled blog. followers of the wobble sound now include music aficionados and dj legends like greg wilson, mr scruff, the unabombers and rob da bank and his web following is ever growing.

japan based, multi-instrumentalist, max essa, has done it again for us here in the bearfunk forest. his splendid second album >white shoes, blue dreams< has pleased the public and reviewers alike. the >midnight and dub direction ep< takes some of the albums finer moments and gives them a more dance-floor friendly, dubby makeover.
incl. len faki remix !! huge support from, adam beyer, chris liebing, dubfire, joris voorn, dave clarke…. figure label founder len faki offers up an absolute treat with a very special remix of pfirters >the dub track<. a tectonic monster reconstructed, re-inforced and stamped with the berghain residents seal of approval. extremely hard to ignore, this high-end techno weapon is packed full of tension, detail and of course fakis trademark rumbling, deep and warm bass energy.
as anyone will know, dub police is one of the dubstep scenes leading labels, having helped launch the careers of artists like caspa and rusko into the dance music stratosphere. the labels ethos has always been about giving the next generation a step up and the next wave of superstar producers has arrived as the dub police war machine continue to roll ever onward towards world domination. trolley snatcha is the latest artist to receive the dub police stamp of approval with his diverse four-tracker the >one trick pony< ep. proving that he is anything but, trolley turns out a selection of tunes that display a mature and open-minded approach to dubstep. from the ear-battering trolley trademarks that litter >pass me by< and >roccos revenge< to the smoothed out bliss of >always on my mind< and the light techno touches of >we go deep<, this ep will grab the attention of anyone with a keen ear for quality music.
dj support: caspa, rusko, skream, the others and benga.
frank is back on geopark, after his succesful release on geo002 his follow up is a perfect deep late summer release. it comes around with a smooth deep melodic track on side a called >dub i.o.s.<. the flipside is a pumping mover called >primezone< support by: pascal feos, d.diggler, matt star, tim green, anthony collins, daniel sanchez, xpansul, die haustiere, martin woerner, sophie nixdorf, locke aka dermaptera, sebastian altstadt, robert drewek, etc.
after a recent short n sweet stint on tensnakes mirau imprint irish ex-pat mano le tough reemerges on internasjonal where he first saw the light of the day as a producer with the much acclaimed warhorn. yet even with such a rather small, straightforward discography mano managed to sculpture his unmistakeably very own style fusing the deeper shades of house and techno with a strong melodic sensibility that one would never even get the faintest idea to file it under the mostly bland tech-house genre. oblique boast a perfect effective dramaturgy with slighty spooky broken melody box theme rising out of a thick mist of grinding chords before morphing into a deep acid finale. french gentlemen of distinction and many styles chateau flight toughen up the beats and throw in some african wood percussions and sparse psychedelic dub effects for a superb rhythmically multi-layered rework.
nice price deal !!! the first release from this imprint sees 2 refixes, art of dub (its a pitty) is a classic, with great catchy soulful vocals over a 2 step beat, which is punctuated with great sounding retro keyboard sounds, a great track to get anybody in the mood for a party. gun slinga is a seriously cool track with a wild west sound-scape, classic western movie samples over filthy bass lines makes this.
part 2 of 3, tracks originally featured on the scion-audio dub police compilation released over the in the states. this time the others step up with quantum leap a dancefloor smasher with signature others vibes, big support for this track ? watch out for their brand new solo single coming soon on dub police! ld steps up on the flip for a tribal-stepper, more music needed from this man always coming with a different approach
after only a handful of productions and remixes under that illusive moniker, british techno pioneer luke slaters >l.b. dub corp< arrives on ostgut ton in its latest electronic mutation.
big with: ivan smagghe, hot chip, axwell, seth troxler, monika kruse, tiger stripes, tiga, john digweed, loco dice,.. thomas schumacher has always had an underground attitude toward his music. he thoroughly demonstrates this attitude with his first 12inch of 2010, >taxi<. an audible middle finger to the dull - as - ditchwater - post - minimal - token - ethnicvocal - sample - loop - boredom

after fter the much acclaimed first release on version by timeblind, version002 features 2 mesmerizing 808 workouts from label boss orson himself. >madness< opens on a atmospheric tip only to switch into eruptive wall shaking subs and syncopated percussions. >808 dub< on the flip is a swinging late night groove with swirling fragments of dub and jungle echoing in and out of the mix. he has been one of the pioneers to push the blossoming sound of dubstep outside of the uk from early on. hes been running his version events since 2005 with guests like digital mystikz, skream, loefah, kode 9, benny ill and many more. orson is known for his exclusive upfront dubplate selection and has played at such legendary events as the mighty >dmz< dance in brixton in early 2008 and 2009, the >big apple records< christmas party and at >dubwar< in new york. the future looks promising for orsons productions, he has been busy in his own studio aswell as working on beats with the likes of benny ill of horsepower productions (one collabo tune will be out on tempa very soon), mala from digital mystikz and sgt pokes. dj support by : appleblim, dj chef, clouds, bunzero, hops, dj skratch and many more. roundtable discussion in de:bug mag with mark ernestus, shackleton, kode 9, pinch and orson
a lot has happened to blm since his last solo ep back in 2008, fatherhood being the main factor for his absence. thankfully the nappy changing musical magician didnt stop tinkering with his synths in that time has come back with a string of forthcoming productions that mark a real step up in quality for him. so, first up blm releases on home soil on his own fof label. garage is back keeps things silky smooth – simplicity is the key here, the percussive elements building slowly before the evocative vocal of suz brings a hypnotic sexyness to the whole affair. step to this is the logical progression from his last fof release (believe in love) with its skippy beats and uplifting stabs being a sure winner for the coming summer. mulletover promoter / dj / all around sexual dynamo geddes provides a rather splendid dub remix of garage is back on the flip. cleverly using key elements of the original to keep the flava but dipping the tempo to give it more of a groove based feel. we think its a high watermark for the man.. check it
big support by: chris liebing, tommy four seven, len faki, joseph capriati, kyle geiger, dj murphy, lars klein, masuki, submerge, jamie bissmire, monoloc, pfirter, cari lekebusch, anderson noise, a. mochi, david flores aka audio injenction, whebba, lars wickinger ...
italys marco donnarumma indicated some of the potential of his kuoyah project with last aprils digital release for frijsfo, earning enthusiastic tips from the likes of boomkat. nonetheless, theres no doubt that his debut on wax ups the game ? even in the face of a mix from sully ? by applying a focus capable of working magic in 2010s open-ended dubstep dance. its an overused comparison that probably deserves to be buried, but angel dub does reek of horsepower productions, or more precisely the ducking 2-step and basic channel steals of benny ills classic tempa ep with hatcha.
