orson bramley has a long-standing legacy in uk electro history as part of the transparent sound production crew, and hes been recently aligned with robin balls memory box parties in london where he s been able to display his years of experience whipping machines into funky configurations in a live environment. this release speaks to that experience, with the various versions of then again punching out an irresistible sermon of crafty synth lines, swooping strings and crisp beats. ball steps up for two remixes on the flip that equally reside in the electro realm, but come at the component parts from a different rhythmic angle. one refined idea done five ways what more do you need to know?
alvin toffler war überwältigt. als er am morgen des 4. oktober 1988 – es war sein 60. geburtstag – mit noch etwas abwesendem blick in eine schale cornflakes starrte, glaubte er, in der oberflächenstruktur der gelblich schimmernden milch, die mit ahornsirup eine emulsion bildete und die knusperkristalle der maisflocken langsam, aber unumkehrbar immer weiter zersetzte, wie durch ein fenster in eine zeitlose dimension schauen zu können. toffler, zu jener zeit auf dem zenit seines ruhms als zukunftsforscher angelangt, war von dem blick ins extratemporäre guckloch nachhaltig verstört. in keinem seiner bücher – „future shock“ war soeben in einer weiteren auflage mit dem stolzen zusatz „more than 5 million copies in print“ auf dem buchtitel erschienen – sollte er das erlebnis jemals erwähnen. auch nach seinem tod ende juni 2016 konnten im nachlass bisher keine ausführungen zu dem vorfall gefunden werden. die von toffler in später geschredderten notizen so getaufte „flake dimension“ bleibt ein geheimnis von opaker, schwer zu fassender strahlkraft.
