killekills next release comes from snuff crew, a crew you might and should have heard about. snuff crews mission is to bring back the fun on the dancefloors worldwide. the masked duo is known for their jacking live shows that combine the raw energy of early chicago and acid house with a fresh and modern sound. rumour has it that they come from >somewhere in germany<, but their sounds draw a very heavy influence from the original acid house city of chicago alongside italo-disco and old school techno flavours. the use of old school roland boxes as sound sources and almost non existent use of even basic effects means their sound is rough, raw and aimed squarely at the dancefloor. their records have been released on labels like skylax, gigolo records, rush hour, playhouse and many more, but the two guys also run their own imprint called snuff trax where they release music of jackmates like kink and neville watson as well as their own tracks and collaborations with artists such as legendary robert owens. thats enough for now with the name dropping. killekill has got a lot of great exclusive material from the guys but decided to release only two very strong and distinctive tracks for now: domo on the one side is a proper acid monster that will go down on dancefloors worldwide like a hurricane and leave the dancers breathless. eat this on the other side is a rudimentary chicago jack track that might well have been taken off a dance mania record from 1992. this track is working its way with nothing but a few drum tracks and a vocal sample and is pure raw sexual energy.

our favorite guys from athens return to we are after some time, and with some super tight beats as well! fact of the matter is, that we for this one occasion chose to go with a full 12 inch instead of our standard club tracks 12 inch format simply because we needed all these three tracks to fit – good job! already passed the floor-test at many clubs and people are really feeling this superglued tightly produced rhythms mixed with old school disco house, they are held back and sneaky, and at the same time accesible and open to groove – just the way we like it!

the a12 motorway was wrapped in complete darkness. the lights of the windmills were blinking in the rhythm of the rotor blades passing by. they appeared just before sunrise. no one had ever seen this kind of creature ever before: red flashing, and bright shining alien butterflies attracted by the windmills. people stopped, and got out of their cars to watch this spectacle. the flying creatures were constantly creating new, kaleidoscope-like formations, and slowly, and very softly at first, they started singing. and although nobody really understood their behaviour, everybody understood their wistful and hopeful song.

the musician airat naryshkin (the very airat) is quite an unusual figure on moscow electronic scene. popular club-culture & music magazine ptiuch called airat >one of the godfathers of the russian electronic music<. he took part in the international album volume transmission (ambient), label worm interface (england),1999. airat with alex paterson (the orb) made an electronic performance in moscow (ketama cafe) last autumn.

get ready for a new exciting collaborative project on electric deluxe! >workshops< is a new experimental series of releases by phil kieran and jochem paap (aka speedy j). the idea behind this project is to explore the recording techniques used in the middle of the 20th century and dating right back to the mid 1950s. famous inspirational places like bbc radiophonic workshops in england and philips lab in holland have seen some of the most innovative production techniques, experimenting with the first use of stereo, modular synths, found sounds and reel to reel tapes. the end result was always something space age and promisingly futuristic and still to this day fresh sounding, crisp and exciting. phil kieran and jochem paap have decided to use this inspiration to effortlessly accomplish marrying the past, present and future in an innovative mix of old ideas with new.

amazing slice of deep, deep electronic detroit meets japan music from the supreme japanese production team, jbp. sounding like theo parrish/moodyman meets sun ra with a touch of carl craig, >aphrotalk< and >amongstone< has been the exclusive property of gilles peterson who has been playing the track on acetate for the last six months. jbp are tsukasa yamaguchi, eiji takehana and yasuhiro nara from tokyo, japan. yamaguchi runs his own audio sutra label working with artists as diverse as toshinori kondo, bill laswell and john zorn.takehana runs the tg electronic label and performs as takehana and golden lotus. together they have released music with united future organisation in japan. nara is in charge of the column zen and the art of... in the music magazine straight no chaser, functioning as a pipeline introducing and connecting japanese culture to the world.

a side >under< from evol intent featuring vocals from singer/song writer jackie b. this dubstep track is dark, sexy, melodic, and poppy, with a bass riff and drums that encourages you to urgently to hit the dance floor, and shake your ass. the vocals are sexy and consistent. she reminds me of esthero in how she can make underground production sound so polished. yet she can take you places emotionally because she makes intelligent choices her vocal tonality. the production is dark, and sounds like a eerie episode of a twin peaks score. you will be hearing lots more music from her really soon. she is also a great producer as well. clement meyer now joins correspondant, and with a nod to his parisian roots he enters our label with techno to be reckoned with. just listen to the first half of >sweet insanity<, and you will begin to appreciate his dark style as much as we do. abe duque, who we have invited to remix >sweet insanity< has been at the head of the acid-house and underground-techno table since his earliest releases way back in 1993. from muscular and melodic techno to cocktail jazz and ambient interludes, his early tracks on his own labels tension and hollis haus included releases under pseudonyms like kirilan and super secret symphony, plus his releases on others labels like disko b, rapture!, morbid, and tresor captured a particular period of clubbing history. the second part of duque s career was a run of increasingly massive 12 inch hits like champagne days, cocaine nights, acid, disco nights, and in 2004 his monster smash with blake baxter >what happened?<. his signature is now stamped across productions from top acts like chemical brothers, pet shop boys, and miss kitten, and has become a regular on dj hells gigolo label. the highlight of this period, though, was his first album >so underground it hurts<. it was undeniably a techno event, and that is exactly what he comes with today, a mind bending techno remix of >sweet insanity<. we hope you like it!

pizza is the 6th release on dont be afraid, coming hot on the heels of mr. beatnicks synthetes ep and semteks west acyd shelter. the first track on the 12 inch, pizza, combines disco, techno and acid house elements on a broken funky base. goons is a mean little track with caper-like 303s and a bumping trumpet bassline, backed by sweet drum machine beats. dj 3000 takes the fundamentals of the original and replaces them with some of his own locally sourced detroit ingredients, including a euphoric rhodes and some rich pads, to create a peak time banger for fans of dirty bird and the like.

winning signal is bells sixth release. managing to mix up acid, disco, electro and funk the group continues to gain fans that include andrew weatherall, gilles peterson, trevor jackson and more. >winning signal< is classic electrofunk style, >mode 3 sounds like kraftwerk via detroit. all in all, a quality electro release! following on from soul jazzs recent electronic releases from the likes of sutekh and kit clayton, this is more new electronic dance music on soul jazz records.
