the german boogie compilation “boogie on the mainline” presents a selection of 10 rare disco tracks from germany plus one more tune from austria, all of them, originally released between 1980 and 1987. check! . the fully licenced album contains little known tunes by groups like imagination (which you can also see on the cover of the lp), squish, upstairs, the poptown syndicate and more. as the boogie-ish post-disco side of german music history still basically remains undiscovered as of yet, “boogie on the mainline” hopefully will shed some light again on 11 rare gems that were mainly published on small or private labels. the album is released on loudly pressed double vinyl with gatefold jacket on the new artless cuckoo sister label boogie on the mainline records. it includes extensive liner notes by compiler john raincoatman aka dj scientist.

so gerd and philipp were due to play xoyo one saturday night and the club is 6 minutes from my studio so i suggested we go there first to make tunes for a few hours. we made 2 songs that night and one of them is ‘reach out’. gerd did the drums on my 808, philipp wrote the beautiful lead part on my obxa and i did the bass in my cs80. i added the words a couple of weeks later, they are inspired by leonard cohen’s letter to his muse marianne ihlen on her deathbed. (joe goddard) including fantastic remixes by erol alkan and osborne.

skinny pelembe corrals together a cast of talented friends for his new ep. it’s his most ambitious release to date, boasting a different group or artist featuring on each of its tracks, each of them an act he’s met through music or through linking with brownswood’s celebrated talent development programme future bubblers two years ago. across its four entries, he bridges hip-hop, psych-rock and jazz-influenced tangents, cutting out a diverse cross-section of the city’s music scene. it’s a document of the connections he’s made as an artist, and is the most collaborative project he’s worked on so far. the title of the ep comes from some advice which skinny noted to himself on an old notebook. each of its songs started as a rough idea which was then fleshed out and re-imagined with his collaborators.

an all-time rave classic gets the gerd janson re-loving as he works his magic on the 1992 anthem dont go. 26 years on from it s first release, gerd takes the tempo down a notch laying out that all too familiar drum break, instantly recognisable piano line and julie mcdermott s timeless vocals. his subtle touches and added weight, behind a pounding kick, are sure to set any dancefloor alight. about as euphoric as they get - if this doesn t do the business then god help us all. on the b side, belfast s ejeca flips don t go into a heavy-hitting, rave tinged, techno bomb. his inventive sampling turns the synth stabs and vocals on their heads, making them almost indistinguishable, but no less impactful, from the original. it s over four and a half minutes till the iconic chord progression is heard in it s initial form, before ejeca throws it back into a rapid fire, industrial thumper. lastly, gerd serves up a vip dub mix echoing claps and synth lines into the stratosphere, whilst leaving the vocals at bay, save a short cry of don t go from julie towards the end of the track, allowing those anthemic elements to do the talking. a modern touch on an all-time classic from gerd with a complete reinterpretation from ejeca, this is a heavyweight release and one thats already being played by the biggest and the best out there.

*** check b2: !!! *** bath-come-london party purveyors, origins, take to channelling some of their creativity into the creation of their own origins label. at the helm for the debut release is bristolian up-and-comer tommosini. having heard move d unleash the beauty of another dimension at freerotation last year, origins knew they had to find out who the mastermind behind this deep house gem was and the rest, they say, is history. another dimension transports you through the galaxies via a combination of dreamy pads, crisp percussion, full-bodied bass and those sensual deep tinged vocals. future classic in the making. the a2 i dont stop carries on the u.s flavoured deep house with a vocal house track that wouldn t be out of place coming from the shores of chicago masterfully intertwining a bumping bassline, soft organs and those introspective, luscious vocals. flip it over and you re treated to two interpretations of another dimension. first up fellow bristol bass badboy, hodge, serves up a signature remix, chopping the vocals and layering them behind a pounding kick and machine gun percussion to give that bass heavy flavour hes become so well known for. deadbeat steps up to close out the ep with a heavyweight techno rework of the original, complete with hypnotic bleeps, phased hats, and intermittent sub bass goodness, all tied together with a driving kick to give a real industrial feel to the remix.

e-missions co-founder p.leone returns to radio slaves rekids this september with the my lita project backed with remixes from mark broom. originally hailing from new york, p.leone now resides in berlin where he helms his e-missions imprint with releases from himself and co-founder caiazzo, exciting new artists like rush plus and tred, not to mention remixes from young male, spencer parker and lawrence lee. leone has also dropped a variety of releases on rekids and work them records, when not making regular appearances at clubs like tresor. he now returns to radio slaves respected imprint with ‘the my lita project, following up his highly lauded el dorado ep that garnered support from ben sims, jackmaster and spencer parker. my lita kicks things off with classic synths, piercing strings and choppy vocals slices whilst robust drums march forward. meanwhile, tight in the pocket is more dark and menacing in comparison with its syncopated percussion, echoing claps and ethereal atmospherics. on the flip, mark broom drops two different remixes of my lita the first is a robust cut complete with disco elements like funky guitar licks and soulful voice, with the originals stabs shining throughout, whilst the second remix takes a different route with its crunchy snares, moaning murmurs and fuzzy effects.

this single is very special for visions recordings as we see a fresh collaboration between alex attias and luman child, two swiss artists reunited for the first time.alex proposed luman child a collaboration after listening to his music. then they met and talked about music , visions, influences, method of work and decided straight away to work together without knowing each other well and pushing them outside their comfort zone. they are both very happy with the resultjalex attias has been in the music for many years producing, remixing many great artists and djing all over the world. at the moment alex is about to release a compilation on bbe records ( lillygood party !) , plus a couple of remixes are on the way and he s also preparing other singles for his label visions .luman child produced in 2017 a killer first album with german label solid ground still available on a neo soul hip hop tip. he reached number 11 in the uk soul charts. as a musician and bass player luman child had a few collaborations with ferry ultra, gogo music and marc mac 4 hero.the project they present here is very organic soulful and musical. this single hold two killer tunes for the listener and the dancers.the a side is a 125 bpm disco jazz funk killer jam with live bass, fender rhodes and vintage keyboards sounds driven by a very funky drum beat and live basseline aimed to the dancefloor and good time party people keeping a smile on your face. its simply groovy and goes on and on for 10 minutes of pure disco pleasure.the b side is a funky number boogie jazz funk inspired by mr ayers vibes and sounds . the rhythm is groovy at 120 bpm and the moog bassline is round and fat. accompanied both track by fender rhodes and dope keyboards sounds, this one will definitely find place in dj boxes for those who play and love soulful music with an open mind. groovy , warm and soulful at his best.

fracture has always tried to support upcoming and interesting newcomers, people they believe in. chevel is one of them, and in 2014 came his first ep for fracture under his alias signalweiss. he returns now for round two. in 4 years, he has managed to establish himself as a prolific and talented artist with a steady stream of records on labels such as stroboscopic artefacts. chevel is an artist who likes to mix things up, always striking an interesting balance between experimentation and more dance floor oriented tunes. with -feelings- and -forbona-, he creates quite abstract but still effective dance music. it is for the club, but it is not mindless bangers. in the hands of pablo mateo, -forbona- turns into a more mental piece of techno. all in all, this new fracture release provides great tools for the smarter selectors out there.

jaffa surfa also known as zoltan pal is hailing from hungary and has released a few records already on other labels like tape hiss for example that already caught our attention a bit earlier. therefor we were quite happy to receive a demo from him and we signed almost all the tracks that he sent us. three tracks aiming straight at the dance floor and we hope that you enjoy and play them as much as we do.

here you have the third installment of our pole group 50 milestone release, closing the trilogy in both vinyl and digital formats. all tracks have been made in common, each of the label foundational members have work sound parts that in a second process have been assigned randomly to others to work with them, in a creation loop that becomes somehow the true essence of the label. you ll never know who is making what, it s just oscar mulero, exium and reeko in essence and mixed up.

as well as manning his own label duro, theus mago can be found slinging out heat on turbo, kill the dj and more recently ombra. the mexican producer returns to home turf for his latest transmission, serving up one original track with two killer remixes. -inertials- is a rowdy beast in its original form, tapping up a breakbeat roll, dirty wave synth stabs and plenty more sonic debris for a cut that spans a whole lot of styles and makes them gel together seamlessly. inigo vontier takes the original and makes it into a bone-rattling drum track to batter the crowd into submission very late on in the dance. jamie paton takes a different approach on the b-side, weaving a little tenderness into the mix with some elegant synth lines that offset the raw bite of the drums beautifully.

ultimate block party breaks volume 6 continues the tradition that began in the bronx in the 1970’s, where “break djs” would take that one part of the record that dancers would go absolutely crazy for. that part where all the music breaks down to nothing but the essence: drums and percussion. these are all truly timeless beats that sound as fresh today as they did when the founding fathers like kool herc, bam, flash and hollywood were catching them for the frst time in community centers throughout the city. we’ve edited and extended these breaks for maximum effect on the dancefloor - so you don’t have to. enjoy!

after making a promising start with their first installment, disco pocho return with a second round of expertly selected, sliced and segued groovers from the parties of yesteryear. javi frias is the cat on the buttons this time around, taking two loose and limber disco funk burners and giving them just the right subtle touch to set the place alight. its a shame has an easy tempo, but there s more than enough heat embedded in the looped up slices frias gets busy with it s a dense, rugged and rock-tinged sound that should please brass construction fans. on the flip, you got what i need turns things up with a powerful, diva-led gem that s heavy on the one, just like it should be.

mark archer aka dj nex returns to music mondays for a limited edition, bespoke, shrink wrapped, collector’s item, triple pack vinyl album of his legendry dj nex ep’s.
originally released in 1992 and 1993 the nex ep and poundstretcher ep have become incredibly sought after on vinyl. however, the poundstretcher ep was always cut too low with 4 tracks aside. we are now taking both ep’s and remastering them to 3 loud pieces of vinyl.
the sleeve will be a specially designed piece of art just for this project, while the label on the 3 records will represent the original releases, keeping that authentic dj nex vibe!

eternal is the new va series that celebrates the 10th anniversary of the label and the city where it was born: rome. many superlative artists and friends of the label will be involved... some of them already in our roster. the first episode of the series is signed by insolate, abstract division, claudio prc and allen.

after arriving at the reference number 10 of their particular catalog, nx1 returns to their self-titled label starting a new series called “utter”. conceived as an archive of their own material, “utter” will now be where many of their works came out with 4 cuts on each ep, making room for the wide range of compositions that characterizes them.

a new adepth audio record featuring canadian rennie foster, including a remix of nomadico (dj dex/underground resistance). the title track witch hazel is a 9 minute long track with no breakdown and a minimal approach to arrangement, with organic elements cycling in and out subtly rather than obviously beginning and ending. a rolling half time, tribal groove drives the power of the track with a haunting vocal sample and layers of percussion creating a heady, polyrhythmic hypnosis on the dance floor. not since rennie s well known devil s water has he presented such an overtly occult offering as this extremely finely crafted ep, and this song represents the initial seduction of the record to the listener very effectively. the second track, navigator, is a drum machine driven workout, again with a polyrhythmic and tribal vibe, this time drenched in a rich, holographic pad that morphs and moves in unexpected ways. minimalistic in presentation, this track is bass heavy and functional for the dj, yet artistic and emotional. the nomadico remix by dj dex of underground resistance takes the elements of witch hazel and re-constructs them in a futuristic style with a more driving kick and molten detroit attitude. a heavier techno approach to the piece, but still intact is the melancholic atmosphere of the original and siren song of the vocal sample. this mix includes a dramatic breakdown and unique arrangement familiar to fans of nomadico s awesome yaxteq label. the last track on the ep is called crossing the boundary is possibly the only track in this style to sample distorted vocals usually associated with black metal, making this a very unique, perhaps polarizing, experiment in sound. evocative of the desolation of deep space and suggestive of sonic dark matter. this track combines rennie s singular approach to dub techno with ambient and drone music and the result is like nothing else currently in existence.

it is a pleasure to work with david granha and to present his 2nd release on noir music. not only is he a super talented producer but he is also open to taking his tracks a step further and in the process evolve as an artist and producer. i have been playing these 3 tracks a lot in my sets around the globe and almost each week discussed change of details with david. it makes me proud to have this “savala” release on noir music cause you can hear from the title track “savala” is an extension of his previous release on the label and with “balea” and “mortal sins” he moves his sound-design to new ventures and a more minimal, raw approach to the final outcome. exactly what i wanted from david. exactly what i hoped for and well…… even better. these 3 tracks just sounds amazing and they have been crafted perfectly step by step over a long period of time. a lot of passion, energy and love have been put into this release. on top of that the titles of the tracks also have sentimental value to david, so there is also a deeper meaning with this release. give them a spin and experience how powerful these tunes are.

alphabets is the new baby project supported by the all mighty chez damier . elements 01 introduces the project with a series of 5 tracks curated for all dancefloors hours. alphabets is a house project coming from south east berlin and run by a french man and other audio signals. me, them and their associates are really starting to enjoy our relationships and have a plan to try and share a little series of different tracks that could represent the vibe i ve enjoyed sharing when all under one roof, dancing on the same beat. it s slightly underground, hopefully.

recorded in novalima s home studio in lima, their album “karimba” (hot iron used to mark the cattle, as well as the slaves) takes novalima music into new levels, introducing both new sounds and traditional rhythms like the panalivio, zamacueca, ingá and tondero, while maintaining their distinctive afro and dub sound. their reputation at home allowed them to work with two of the top traditional musicians in the city in what would be their last recorded performance: vocalists pepe vasquez, rosita guzman, and sofia buitron as well as guitarists roberto arguedas and felix casaverde (former guitarist of chabuca granda), in addition to members of the live band.

techno, disco, italo, electronics, house, library, cosmic and ambient frequencies - these are the bedrocks of the midnight drive ethos and sound. a label shining a light on overlooked or unheralded creations and respectfully reissuing them for the contemporary audience. a label that respects and understands the connection between these disparate and sometimes forgotten forms of musical expression and celebrates them. midnight drive are extremely proud to present this most beautiful and unique of records - makers don t challenge me - a truly idiosyncratic early 70 s electronic oddity that has long been a coveted and highly prized piece of music by obscure music lovers for many years

i like to move it, go on move and can you feel it had already established erick morillo and the mad stuntman as one of the biggest new acts in 1994 - and then came raise your hands . originally starting life as asuca by r.a.w. (another morillo alias on the legendary strictly rhythm label), the addition of the mad stuntman s unmistakable vocals helped give them their 4th top 15 hit of the year. the update comes courtesy of uk producer shadow child, no stranger to chart success himself. -i couldn t wait to get my hands on this one,- added shadow child, who also debuts his acidub edit as part of the record s release. -that infectious riff has been going round in my head since i originally heard it and it is such a honour to get to make 2 versions!-

washington dc’s rush plus drop four superb techno cuts entitled ‘the sweat ep’ on p.leone and caiazzo’s e-missions imprint this june. having dropped three quality releases on their own eponymous label, rush plus continue to turn heads with their imaginative productions, gaining support from the upper echelons of techno with names like rodhad, ben klock, dj spider, ben sims, slam, answer code request, dj deep and many more getting behind them. following up a release on ambivalent’s valence records, they now join p.leone and caiazzo’s rapidly rising e-missions imprint. ‘megabust’ initiates the package with twisted sci-fi synths and syncopated drums whilst rattling metallic elements operate throughout. intricate hits of percussion are soon followed by rumbling bass in ‘rebirth’ as the track gradually becomes more and more twisted using filtered effects and soaring pads, making way for the shuffling ‘sweat’ with its menacing stabs and echoing voices. finally, the package concludes with ‘slow release’ - a high-octane and ominous roller.

when i first stumbled across mix tapes out of hamburgs seminal front club (with klaus stockhausen and boris dlugosch at the helm) during the glorious and carefree early days of the popularized internet, there were certain tracks on them that struck a chord. in fact there was one specifically, i couldnt stop listening to. the mixture of an infectious bass line, a super sharp snare, music and harmony vocal snippets, happy claps and synths lines that evoked pictures of a convertible going down a coastline, and - to top it all off - a tribal chant, was irresistible. after some intensive track-id-hunting pre-shazam, i found out that the heaven-sent hymn was music by an act called syncbeat. originally released in 1984 during the craze that was called uk electro via street sounds resp. streetwave and later licensed to german omnivore zyx records. a joint venture between the electro-funk mastermind,dj pioneer and edit maestro greg wilson as well as manchester musicians martin jackson & andy connell, it is exactly that type of dance track that eludes any classification - as you can see from my description above. or to cite greg wilson himself from one of his essays on the subject of uk electro: the track that received the best response was music by syncbeat, which was full of good vibes and could have easily been re-vamped down the line as a house track.

lay-far returns to gamm with three slices of jazzy disco numbers that got joyful dancing written all over them. he s carefully selected his fave disco, jazz-funk and fusion tracks from herbie mann (etagui), fsb (morning) and mass production (cosmic lust) that were just asking for that special moscow edit touch. gentle perfection!

after being absent for a while, glance is returning with a uncompromising authentic record on footjob. it recently has become quieter around the man who used to be a founding member of running back, but for this occasion he went and dug in his archives and came back with some beautiful old tracks, just to compile them in a classic, full of groove second footjob ep. as a bonus he finishes and ends the record with two downbeat sounding songs in reminiscence of his former genre crossing alter ego siro. so this goes out to all the realkeeper, oldschooler und newcats. glance is back on the map.

that summer i developed somewhat of an obsession with tonto’s expanding head band after having seen them perform at the big chill festival that year. the music blew my mind. later upon my return to civilisation and the ensuing research which then began in earnest i became as much blown away by the enormous t.o.n.t.o. (the original new timbral orchestra) modular synthesizer that had created the music as i was by the music itself. built in the early 70s, it s still the largest synthesizer around today. with the live show still resonating in my head i tracked down everything tonto had ever recorded. one of these tracks was an obscure outtake from the time t.o.n.t.o.’s creators, malcolm cecil and robert margouleff, were producing and engineering for stevie wonder in the ‘70s(https://youtu.be/wuaszff7yq0). the track, bittersweet, only ever appeared on a highly limited self-released cd put together to coincide with their appearance at the big chill. consequently i featured it on a few mixes i did over the years and invariably i’d be asked “what’s that track?” by those with an ear for something unique. and invariably these same people, many of them djs, would turn away disgruntled when i informed them it was cd only. although i didn t know it at the time, the seed was definitely sown for this vinyl compilation that you now hold in your hands.

acid fans may well be aware of dj arg (also known as faceless junkies deluxe) and know that the man is a machine, literally churning out hundreds of the nastiest and most purist 303 based techno and house tracks and uploading them with alarming regularity to his soundcloud pages. super rhythm trax is proud to present to you his first vinyl release, it was really hard to decide on just four tracks, but these ones were jumping out for a release. sick and twisted 303 abuse for lovers of the silver box.

2018 repress , with the debut release selling out in a matter of days and a repress already flying off the shelves, rhythm section international present their second offering in the form of a remix ep, with reworks of al dobson jr. by polish rising stars ptaki and manchester mainstay ruf dug. eschewing the typical notions of a remix package, rhythm section international offers up 2 new tracks that didn’t appear on rye lane volume one, accompanied by 2 strikingly imaginative remixes. on the a side the polish duo of jaromir kami&#324,ski & bartosz kruczynski take al dobson jr’s tribal tom-tom rhythm and extend it into a sprawling disco epic, adding catchy keys and sensuous vocals that aim to tease the most reluctant of movers onto the dance-floor. ruf dug’s rework, named “ ruffy’s 3am canavan’s special” takes inspiration from one of many hazy late night sessions at the infamous peckham pool hall that is home to rhythm section. ruf dug, a rhythm section favourite and huge admirer of dobson’s beats, takes the gentle guitar strokes of the original and morphs them into metallic stabs, layered over an aggressive squelchy bass sound and sharp phasing hi-hats. this mantra is built upon in an effortless style typical of the mancunian producer and is as catchy as it is hypnotic.

echodroides is a collaboration between chicago natives frank de la mora & miguel martin. their sound can be described as a trip through space with analog synthesizers and drum machines. they came together in 2011 first working on remixes then shortly after decided to work on original material. their music has been featured in tv shows, movies, promotional videos from peugeot, fashion labels and the ubisoft video game, watch dogs. for this special and limited release they re-created a track from 80s us studio project, experimental products, - paying tribute to -glowing in the dark- original and an instrumental. (words from the artists) experimental products has always been a massive influence on us from the very 1st time we heard them back in the 80s. glowing in the dark, in particular changed everything for us. mark wilde and michael gross were way ahead of their time. we wanted to pay tribute to them by re-creating this song from scratch.
